Please allow me to set the record straight right now.
I have applied to Paragon Studios no less than three times in as many years. I have done my best to make contacts within the company and within the industry as a whole, done research online to learn more about the industry, and pushed my limits to keep improving my work. I have made it QUITE clear that I would crank out videos for COH (commercials, cutscenes, tutorials, how-tos, you name it) as the day is long, if given the opportunity. Up to and including bringing my own software, making all my own contacts in the music and voice talent industry, and even moving to Mountain View AT MY OWN EXPENSE.
And unfortunately, ever since Lighthouse left, I have lost my most vocal champion at PS. (As a group, the rednames may enjoy my work, but Alex was my biggest fan, bar none.)
In short, I have tried. Repeatedly. And I have failed. Repeatedly.

Case in point - NCSoft creates an ad for I-16, and then doesn't exactly go out of their way to tell people about it. They should have been running this at least a couple of weeks in advance of the issue going live. Even if TV or movie ads are cost-prohibitive, banner ads on websites? Flash movies? They could be doing a LOT more.

New Christmas Events:
- Snaptooth-skeet-shooting off the top of the Ski Chalet.
- Timed Mission #1: Iinject Baby New Year with a super serum that gives him a HUGE body, then lead him to a cage match with Snaptooth. Cutscene ensues.
- The 2009 Paragon City Winter Olympics... speed skating, ice dancing, and curling on the Winter Croatoa map.
- Timed Mission #2: Deliver 200 presents within 30 minutes. Finally, a use for all those drive-by Speed Boostings.
- New Outdoor Base Construction: SNOW FORT.
- Timed Mission #3: Vernon von Grun, in an attempt to match Dr. Aeon's brilliance, has decided to bring snow to the Rogue Isles. Only it doesn't quite work as expected, because he figured that the demon under the PTS was keeping the temperature too warm...

There's actually a poll on my LiveJournal at the moment about what my next video project should be.
The choices are:- A music video done to "(Do You Wanna Date My) Avatar" (and believe it or not, after much hoop jumping, YES, I got official permission from the Guild to make said video)
- The GOING ROGUE teaser (this one will be a bit harder, but manageable)
- My comedy video CoVIDEOHELL (if you've seen AMV HELL, you get the idea)
- The first of the Freedom Phalanx: Genesis series (Synapse's video, and another instance where I got official permission from a band to use one of their songs in a video of mine)
Even if you're not an LJ member, you can at least leave an anonymous comment on the entry with your forum handle and cast your vote. (People have also been submitting their votes via Twitter... I'm there, of course, as @Samuraiko)

I'd like to think I could get hired on the basis of my qualifications, not because of a player uprising or threats of bodily harm...
And guys, I really do appreciate the support, but the rednames have NO say over who gets hired. At best (and even this is a guess), they MIGHT be able to put in a good word for me, but if the Powers That Be don't want me, then nothing the playerbase says or does is going to change that fact.
