In the meantime, I'm searching around for other ideas for "The Dying of the Light" (either instrumental or with lyrics), and a few ideas are percolating still. And there are other bands out there who ARE willing to let me license their music - it's just a matter of what I can afford. (After all, I don't make anything for doing these - the things I do for love.)

Actually, as a redside player, it might also be neat to 'preface' the launching of the Arachnos Flyer by having more Arachnoids spawn, a la "Increased Clockwork Activity in Kings Row."
The warning goes out that Arachnoid spawn quantities are approaching dangerous levels, and then "Arachnos Flyer Launched".
Something like that, maybe?

Those more "in the know" than I am might have an answer to this one - does the game (or NCSoft) track how people were referred (a la "how did you hear about us?")? It might be interesting to see what is currently the most effective means of getting people into the game (or in certain instances, KEEPING people in the game)...
For example:
- Refer-a-Friend program
- Free trial from main website
- Presence at various 'cons
- Video ads (such as the Captain Dynamic ads, "I'm a Hero/I'm a Villain", etc)
- Emails
- Banner ads
That sort of thing.

I wonder... if the player community has a few folks in it who actually KNOW marketing (ie, do it for a living)... and we've got at least a couple of professional graphic designers on here (I'm married to one)... I wonder if the playerbase could create a questionnaire that we'd all fill out (although non-forum-visitors would need to find a way to hear about it - maybe get the Powers That Be to put a link on the launcher or up in the News section or send out an email)...
... coz I'd really like to know.

The Defuser! Yes, met him at HeroCon 2008. Very nice guy, too. Not quite sure if he's "well known" enough, but yes, it'd be a start. Trick is to avoid making it look cheesy, a la Captain Dynamic from the ROOSTER TEETH guys.

If my fans in the community want me to take a crack at something, I'm game to hear it (I know a couple of you have asked me to do an expanded version of "History in the Making", telling more about the in-game timeline). If you guys tell me what you want, I can tell you if it's doable.

1) Demorecorded the folks you always see slumped in front of Television in Grandville - the Longbow agents always have the best ones.
2) Greenscreened Andrea Blake via demoedit in that same pose.
3) Got the Paragon Studios logo off their website.
4) Imported the logo in Sony Vegas Movie Studio, layered Andrea on top of it, removed the greenscreen, and voila!
(It's actually a bit more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it.)

That would've broken the symmetry of having the other couples (Psyche/Manticore; Fusionette/Faultline; and Blake/Synapse). My sister tells me that Scirocco has a *thing* for Ghost Widow, even if it's not reciprocated.

As far as Posi and Castle giving her 9s, while Hero 1 and BAB gave her 10s, it sort of reflects my own relationship with those four developers. Chris and Joe have both been tremendously generous with their time with me as far as explaining stuff like emotes and animations and game history and stuff like that. They don't quite drop what they're doing to help, but their assistance has been more significant when it comes to my videos and/or my stories. That's NOT to say that Matt and Floyd haven't been helpful to me - they just don't talk to me as much.
(And besides, Matt has already confirmed that he has NOT read "The Course of Superhero Romance" or its sequel.)
Still, I'm glad that so many of you guys are enjoying this video. Please do spread the word about it if you like it - I am really curious to see how far this thing can go.

The TO-DO list on Matt's computer was another of my later-added in-jokes. The Dev Rap, however, was pretty much there from the get-go.
As for GW and Scirocco, I almost paired her up with Wretch, but that was just a bit... wrong.

Dark_Respite is not human. She is, in reality, a City of Heroes construct.
She has obviously taken the Artistic Genius archetype with Natural Origin. Further research has revealled that she took Videographer Vixen as her primary power set with Sublime Comedian backing it up as secondary.
I still think six-slotting her ninth tier Pure Perfection power was over-kill.
