You can't buy access to the AE, you can only rent that access for a month, which is kinda BS.
Don't even get me started on the whole paragon points for a subscriber not covering content that we used to get for free issue either. -

This should be a perfectly valid and worthwhile choice for those who choose it. As of the current Freedom info, it is not worthwhile because you lose access to a lot that you "can't even purchase" as it is "subscriber only".
2) I may have been harsh up there, but I think this is a pretty crappy system for any vet who either can't(I have low funds ok, get off my back) or won't out of the principle of paying for unused time(this sucks too).
Learn to read people.(wasn't in reference to you Arcanaville, but you did miss what I said I want(to buy content not time)

Even paying by the hour is preferable to monthly.
To me, it sounds like you're more frustrated with the prices (which aren't final) than the system itself. On the one hand you say you want to pay for content, on the other hand you say you shouldn't have to pay for it. Which is it? -

You understand that you lose nothing if you're still subscribed, right? You understand how completely silly from a financial standpoint it would be for them to give Premium members access to everything they had as a VIP without having to pay anything for it, right?

I don't mind a Coca Cola logo on the Coca Cola bottle I just bought. I do mind the Coca Cola logo when it's put in game (or in the down loader or whatever) as a movie or window I need to click past, or during irritating breaks on a show I'm watching.

I don't need to justify my beliefs to you. If you want to sell yourself out that's your right, but I don't. That is why I participated in the Facepalm "contest" (still wondering what the contest was, by the way) in the manner that I did -- as an act of defiance to their shameless grab at Facebook Likes. -

I haven't found Gravitic to be any more helpful on my Elec^3 Blaster, to be honest. End Drain in this game is already mostly pointless -- if you're already at the point where it can be somewhat useful it's not going to get any better, if you're not at that point you never will be, so don't bother.
The Storm Elementals use generic Electric Blasts, and one of them has Short Circuit, but good luck getting it to use it strategically the way you'd like. -

Doesn't matter how much you doll it up (lipstick on a pig anyone?), I will oppose in-game advertising in any form. The only reason I mostly ignored the previous failed attempt at it is because it was turned off by default. Start tying it to in-game items of any kind and you've lost me as a paying customer.
This is City of Heroes, not City of Pepsi. Please keep it that way. -
My Elec^3 50+1 Blaster has 30% ranged def so on most Tips (set to base difficulty) he just spikes the objectives and gets them done pretty quickly. Judgment also helps -- on that "DE capture Crey scientists" Tip, for instance, I usually just herd up the guard groups from all 4 scientists then take them out at once with Ion.
Basically as long as your character doesn't suck at soloing, anything will be fine. (As someone else said, I'm assuming your intent is to run on low difficulty for grinding Alignment Merits.) -

In case I have not made myself clear: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO 8 KAJILLION FRILLION TIMES NO.
Putting aside every single other reason why this is an impractical and stupid idea, I would honestly quit the game over it. I don't like advertising in my entertainment -- it's obnoxious and crass.
