Alpha Squad is just a simple cheese pizza: cheap, fast and with extra cheese. Some of us sprinkle a little chili pepper onto it, and serve it with an icy coke.
Cheap and Fast, but not easy?

Have been running that ever since without a problem. But then, if money is no object for you, I'm sure a GTX 260 would be even better!
I have the 9800 GTX+ OC from BFG and I would stay away from it. Can't update to new drivers with the card. The EVGA and Gigabyte versions have a Bios update that fixed the driver issue, but BFG isn't caring (I talked to BFG Tech Support about it). Heck BFG sys any driver that came out in the last year is a beta driver and shouldn't be used.

    Client Issue

Where is your friend located? There are a number of things that could cause it, from Malware on your machine, to a bad port on a router somewhere between your place and the NCSoft servers. Post a Hijack This log please.

Am I that much of a non-geek now that I don't get the whole thing about rushing to finish a game? Maybe its just that I suck at video games overal. I dunno...

Chicago Style the sauce does not go over all the toppings. It goes over the cheese and the Patty Sausage cause Chicago Style is true Deep Dish, and way better than any other type of Pizza out there. *drools*

You may want to set it to Run as Administrator to make things easier. Basically, Windows 7 and Windows Vista treat programs a bit differently, and programs with Update in the name of the file will require Administrator access to run correctly in some cases. For example, when a new Issue or patch is released, it will need Administrator access to be able to actually download the updates. Without that access, it won't update.

This is true, also I've found because of the calls it makes to hardware (graphics, sound) running CoH as Admin helps out a lot. I have tried running CoH on Win7 without admin rights and it crashes for me.

When XP was out it was easy enough to have local Administrator rights which had access to the underlying drivers and system files. When Microsoft made Vista and Windows 7 they have been trying to limit that sort of access. Unfortunately, older software still needs it (hence one of the big problems when Vista came out).

So run as admin for CoH and you will be fine.
  9. I find it just as interesting that Rhode Island and people on Military Installations are not allowed to compete in the contest also.
  10. Morning Fed.

No a brain isn't needed. and a compartamentalized brain is less needed. To have us truly multitask we need 2 brains though.

Course we could go with jsut a simple program to make everyon automotons and follow without thinking. Wait, a lot of people already do that...

*runs off to get a copyright and patten on the idea*
  11. Well, I think the problem Rook, is that the majority of people don't use their brains anyway.

    BOOGER!!!

    *gets his Coffee*

    Morning Emmi, Rook and Detra.

Anyway, going back to the awake and asleep, most people seem to just go through the motitions every day anyway, so it can be said most people are a wake and asleep at the same time.

Of course if we are in a Matrix, we would be both. From a physiological standpoint, the brain never really sleeps, only our bodies do. The brain is still working on keeping us alive (regulating breathing etc...) when we are asleep.

Course this could all be wrong, because it is so early.

Actually, you can get it with a trial or none. Honestly, any tech worth anything will tell you not to install McAfee or Norton if it comes on the system (usually a trial and get you to purchase once you go online and give McAfee/Norton your money).

    Just my opinion though.

I would not get the McAfee security suite. It is a memory hog and is not as good as you might think. I would go third party and get Kaspersky or Trend Micro. Kaspersky is the better in my opinion, low footprint, does not slow down a system.

You hang around with all of us, so of course there is no class. Not any day. :P

    The Luck of a ?

So I log in last night and figure to go to Wentworth's and then do some exploring in the PVP zones.

I get Shecky out of the D take 2 steps and get squished by a Kronos Titan. >.<
I proceed to call out for help in one of my globals, get 6 people to team with me, and when the Kronos is done a Zombie event starts. >.<

We finish off dealing with Zombies and right into... Supernatural activity! >.<

It was a lot of fun, especially with the people that I teamed with as we all stayed in Character and RP'd the whole time, but I was just waiting after the Supernatural Activity for a Rikti invasion. I think it was the only Zone event that did not happen. What were the odds of all of that happening one after the other? Was this just the luck of a Shecky?
  20. Tonight is the night! BE there or.. I'll cry.

Might want to see if you can put in an exception for the CoH folder and try it with everything still on. If that works then you don't have to worry about shutting it off and turning it back on.
  24. Ok, its been years since I've been on a Hami Raid Blue Side and ahve never done on Red Side. I know they still go on, but what days and what times are they usually run (if they are scheduled)?
  25. Yep, that is Galaxy by the Perez entrance.
