    EM v's SS

For PvE only I'd take SS over EM on a brute. EMs AoE is poor at best and AoEs are a good use of end for damage on a brute. Of course this is my opinion only but I'd stick with SS.

I prefer it to look like they're doing something not prancing and posing like complete fools myself, but if that means slow and powerful I guess the answer to the second question is yes

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Knockout Blow, as good as an attack it is, has that stupid wind up to it, Jab isn't a Jab, Haymaker is more of a double Axe Handle and hurl helps you produce a rock out of a steel platform...all moves are so telegraphic you wonder how on earth it should ever hit a defense set...if you wanna get fussy

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now strangely I've never played SS either, muchly for the same reason.

  4. Grats Skyfox, nicely done, now get alting

    DB tankers

Oh and yeah hated EN too, tried that.

My WP/Fire looks great as WP doesn't overshadow the fire particles but I don't like fire/melee with anything too flashy (my Fire/DA brute looks awesome in fluffy mode, just a black mist of firey death)

Most of my alts are fairly normal size, my DB tank had to be DB conceptually, but am now sticking to just 3 powers from the whole set. I personally don't like the ineffectual look of them, the only melee set I like less is Katana, but EN is fairly close

    DB tankers

My Ice/DB has made me hate DB, the ugly animations is my main issue. Yes my next will be stone melee, they look good
  7. Like the name, Grats on another 50
  8. I registered yesterday and everyone knows my forum name I guess.

Nice layout by the way. I a couple of days when I'm bored of WoW (if it takes that long) I'll sort out a profile thing for the members section
  9. Not sure I know you, but Grats on the 50
  10. Cynic

    Gratz to ME!!

Grats Rhi, seems a shame to have a Grats thread become a flamefest to me, that's what General is for

Heya, just wondering, the fire melee set seems like a nice high dmg set with some AoE capabilities.. BUT no stun, no disorientate, no hold, no sleep not even a knockback ??? so why would you ever go fire melee ? O_O

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Answered your own question.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aye. Because it gives the true brute feel. Its a kill them before they hurt me set, then keep killing their friends BECAUSE THEY WERE BORN........... at least that's how my Fire Melee brute played
  12. The only proc's I have in my BS scrapper are to finish of sets so that I can get the defence bonus I need. I thought raw damage was better than procs for damage.

Now the -res would be something I'd have if I could fit it in, MaX's DB scrapper has it and I duo'd with him to 50. It makes a bigger difference Vs EB's and AB's than a simple damage proc because the whole team benefits.

The +rech is a given, good for all but might not be so amazing if they ever fix it. It fire's off too often at the moment
  13. Psi and toxic is affected by positional defence, though some powers have no positional tag so will ignore your defence. AFIK they are all psi powers

Oh and though Night will say this is bragging the above build have ranged and AoE def over 50, melee is my lowest and still over the soft cap
  14. Grats on another 50

When did I start being the friendly one??!
  15. My melee def is over 45% without the Touch Of Death bonus, but only just.

It doesn't matter what your character's are called anyway, your costumes lead them to be known as "What ever that is"
  17. Below is my BS/Sr which is over the defence soft cap on all without parry or elude.

Elude on my DM/SR I mostly use for endurance in long AV fights, but the lack of Touch Of Fear means BS is a bit more end friendly and I don't need it at all. I found parry lowered my DPS, as a scrapper I didn't want that so used IOs to get around it.

The build below cost less than 300 million and if it was bought over time and with smarts I recon you could get it for around 200 mil (I'm lazy so I buy enhancements rather than recipes)

  18. Right primary always uses more end than secondary.

DA has Clock Of Fear, you dont have to. Infact I'd say avoid it.

Ob Gloom, can work with fault and mostly uses health not end, it can stay.

I'd slot attacks 1 acc, 2 dam, 2 end, 1 rech. Really running out of end will stop you building fury, and fury is most of your damage.

Shields stick 1 end red in.

Ob Gloom stick 1 end red in

Death Shroud stick 2 end reds in

Make sure Dark Regen has at least 2 end reds

Use a KB protection IO in CJ, do not run Cloak of Darkness or Acrobatics

If you take tough, then tough can take 2 end reds

The key will be smart slotting. Of course if set slotting then use those that deal with end better. For example your PBAoEs and Cones should have Multistrikes in

    Willpower Brute

It would probably be better to put it in Health, Faster Healing or High Pain Threshold.

Its 10% and 15% are not boosts to current stats but seperate boosts by themselves. Putting it in a power that is always active rather than a toggle means it will never be off
