The Myspace name is actually City of Heroes/Villains. Look for City of Heroes/Villians in search section if you use Mozilla ans have trouble getting on myspace from directly from the link.

I liked the fact that some new content was added to give my semi-retired level 50s (at least to the Hero side) something to do. In fact That was what brought me back from that "other " mmo. Having more high level content is what the game has been lacking. I love the chance to flex those high level powers. So the STF would get my vote. Hamidon, even repackaged is as stale as lasts weeks bread. Perhaps those that have not experienced a Hami raid will try it, and like it.
While I'm impressed with the invention system, I'm not impressed with the whole "phat lewt" grind that goes with it. It smells like "that other mmo". I'd rather be playing towards a goal, wallowing in new content, than chasing some random drop. The tutorial is still confusing and leaves some gaping questions that can only be answered by hitting the forums.
The sets should be purple, like in that "Other" game. The Sets really takes away from the "create your hero/villian" concept and reduces it to "you are your magic items". However, I do like the degree of control you have in placing them. I think "rares" should drop more frequently from bosses and as mission rewards, instead just some SO. You can't give away some recipes and others you cant afford to craft unless you got 30 million influence for the salvage. This makes sets more trouble than they are worth in many ways.
New shineys. I really like the costume pieces..but Sheesh, enuff with the wings already. why not make raptor packs or jumpacks available as costume pieces. How about some origin themed stuff other than wings.
I give Issue 9 3 and 1/2 stars. for trying. Maybe then "recipe" for Issue 10 will include some spice. For some high level content goodness. -
I'm very proud of your brother, and all the troops who are the REAL HEROES. I recently saw my brother off on deployment to Iraq. I appreciate the fact that you would share what is a personal, family situation with the CoH community. I play with several people who just got back or are about to be re-deployed.
Personally all the proposed changes have little real importance in the greater scheme of things, but CoH has been my de-stress pastime. The changes un-nerve me because it seems too much and I'm not excited about this becoming something other than the game i've played for a year. It also put out the fire out of my anticipation of CoV.
With all the worry about our brothers and their comrades in harm's way, it seems rather shallow that the last thing I want is more chaos in my sanctuary called Paragon City. I guess in the past year thats what "the City" has meant to me. -
The current Rage works out just fine. seems balanced and fits in with the SS set.

If thats the case then blaster AoEs,(ie. ice storm, fire storm), Kheld, Energy blaster and Matrial Artists Knockbacks and 1/2 the other powers in the game should penalyze the AT and not the team.
My tank still holds agg when "tired", and a simple taunt brings em back his way when the 10secs is up -
Think of the down time as:
1. a chance to recover some END
2. a chance for you to pop some insp, delete trash, etc
3. a chance for ALL your attacks to recharge at which time you can hit a target with a complete combo!
Sure it a bit inconvenient, but it beats the heck out of being drunk, losing all your end, or having all defense drop.
I have Rage Perma'd. it fits Cyberzerker's Concept, and its much better that it was in previous incarnations!
It was worth the wait and nerf-agony, to have it the way it is! -

Until then we have to make due.
[/ QUOTE ]
Make due? I made due when they made the changes to invul before. I made due when i lost perma unstop, i respeced it out. I made due when i had to spend almost a solid day on test figuring out how to mix certain powers to make my invul/ss tank playable, not just at 50, but also at lower levels when i exemped down to help out my SG mates. Now i have to make due again?
I have never seen devs screw [censored] up like they do here. I used to play a game called "the realm" cheesy little MMOG. The devs there screwed up a lot too. finally everyone left as it wasn't any fun anymore. I'm not saying they are all bad because they do add some cool things. Winterlord being one of them. but the fact that I have to completely relearn a character evrytime a patch comes out is insane. I have 6 slotted hasten and 2 slotted rage. I died 3 times in a mission fighting level 52 mobsters. First 2 times were because i wasnt' paying attention and when my end dropped to 0 and all of my toggles dropped i thought I had been mezzed somehow. so i took it on the chin. The third time i noticed what happened and was in shock. i had to open a browser and go read the changes. I agree with the dude that said that such a severe change should have been put in the login screen.
So, now my tank has to adapt to another play style. one where LT's, Bosses, and AV's have more health, and i do LESS damage. I was already the lowest damage tank out there.
Ok, enough of my rant.
Is it going to be fixed? if so, when? If not then those of you that want to start a guild on EQ2 send me email. Id rather give my money to devs that aren't screwing me.

I can sympathize with you, but Statesman had previously said that the end drop was too harsh and they were cooking up something else.
And SoE are not "screw" less, I have been in EQ 2 years, and when they publicly admitted that GoD and OoW should have been 1 expansion but still made you pay ful price for both I left for a couple of months and only play now due to my guild and non-guild friends. The content of GoD was planned for people who were 66+ they had said and you could not get above 65 till OoW was released.
This Rage change coming live on the coat-tails of the Invuln changes and delayed respec are annoying to be sure, but considering Statesman said the end drain was too harsh, I am sure something else will be ready for test soon.

No matter what the reason (intent, mistake, excuse etc.) the fact remains that we pay for a complete product. Its a matter of professionalism. The way they are handling things are quite the opposite. Un-professional!
If content /fixes where not fixed/ready they should NOT have released I3. I would have been happy to wait- instead of being rather insulted by the way Cryptic has handled the launch of I3 and this subsequent "patch". Why do we spend time here and on test if we as players and paying customers, who want a better game, make suggestions and point out problems we find, if we are to be treated as if we dont know what we are talking about. We as a group of "Ragers" made some really good suggestions on how to handle rage, most were reasonable and seemingly ignored.
We should have been offered some sort of announcement or warning of what was to come.
We should be offered another free respec for any and all players whos characters had new powers that were significantly changed by the patch as well.
And please, don't insult us by asking for opinions and suggestions, or pretend to have open communication, when it seems we are left talking to ourselves in the dark.
My 15 bucks a month, and word of mouth to get others to play have supported this game, and the people who make a living operating it. I think we, the players, deserve a little bit more respect than we have been shown lately. I'm not going to quit, but I want to be able to play my characters without worry, and without using MY resources to compensate for changes in the game. This includes time on the boards, time in test and wasted time in busted missions using the power of the week.

yea just make sure you just stand there, dont move, dont attack, and with dropped toggles, and maybe the badguys wont notice you!,

Many players complained about the stun at the end of Rage because it turned off toggles and left them helpless. At the same time, hardcore players with perma-unstoppable or Unyielding were able to avoid the Stun effect. Thus the casual player was getting penalized and hardcore player wasnt getting the desired penalty. We're still looking at the issue - so feel free to post your thoughts & ideas!

Statesman, you guys dropped the pebble in the pond that created this issue in the first place. I mentioned the Rage issue in the Tanker-test boards, and submitted a comment in-game to support, well before I3 became live.
1. Change Rage to Build Up, so it is in line with all the other Tanker 2ndaries.(all other Tank 2ndaries have build up but SS, as you well know).... THEN ...
2. Change BUILD UP across the board for all Tanker AT 2ndaries. Since Tanks don't have a Blasters Aim, Snipe and Alpha strike, a One-Shot Buff power is very situational. Make it Conserve or something that is useful and suitable for a 5th tier (average) Tanker 2ndary power. Doing this would help Tanks as a whole, in more than one way and should not cause any "balance "problems.
a. Players could replace end-redux enhancers with acc or dam, so there would be no need for a "+dam with a crash" power
b. Players would not be compeled, and feel forced to take Stamina at L20 or the Epic Pool with Conserve post L40. this could make selecting Fitness and Epic more optional than absolutely neccessary.
c. I do not believe Conserve can be comprimised by another power, it already exists and any problems and issues with it should now be known.
d. It would aid the Tank AT no matter what flavor.
I knew that Rage was going to be a problem with you when I3 was still in test. It bothers me that you would let it go LIVE before addressing the problem. I hope another free-respec comes with any change too. I also hope that whatever changes are made are throughly considered and tested before they go live. This would be best for the game, the people who run it and the people who play it.
signed..a person who plays the game -
I would leave Rage alone:
Trading one severe penalty for another is counterproductive, and the risk of stun , even when relying on powers like Burning shield, Unyielding, and any other power that resists disorient (which offset the stun penalty),is still there, should those resists be overwhelmed.
The real issue here is information.
The hardcore players do the research and experiment, and probably take the time to test things. They become informed, at sites, boards, forums etc.
The casual player "plugs n plays", takes powers that sound "kewl" or base decisions on the very brief, and oft-times vague power descriptions. They take the names and descriptions of the powers at face value, without really considering consequences, power combinations, etc.
Without a way to test a power before you lock it in, a player needs to be informed before he/she makes the choice for a power.
Some players don't want to have to sift through countless posts (hardcore), they want to put on the spandex, toss on the cape, and fight bad-guys (casual). They have everything in the game except information about the powers they need to choose. They reallt shouldnt have to go out-side the game to find the information.
Suggestions:
1. Power Experts: NPC experts on a specific power set, do a mish for them and they will offer detailed descriptions of the powers along with advice and warnings in using the powers. (example: Bob The Body-Builder in Talos, is an expert on super strength powers and can advise on the various Super strenght powers. along with suggestions on complimentary powers)
2. Those Info Kiosks? why not make use of them! Have a Hero's guide to powers that can be accessed in game!
3. The Paragon Proving Grounds: a zone dedicated to allowing players a chance to try a power before they "buy"it. (without being hard-core and going to the test server). the power is temporary with temp training, DO and/or SO enhancers (sold seperately).
4. A chance to go back to the out-break!: Offer a new power to be selected from a Trainer (ie. Ms. Liberty) with the option to try-it-before-you-buy-it by testing it temporarily in the out-break zone (with critters of approriate lvls to the character in that part of the zone)
5. Heck! just offer the new power as a temporary (no xp till its locked in), give the casual player a chance to kick the tires and take it on a test drive.
Sorry to stray away from Rage issue, but really the problem you address with Rage is a common problems for all powers. I realize that some of the suggestions may require a great deal of work, some less so, but changing one power tends to cause alot of grief and work for alot of players.
PS plz add other important explainations/ info such as what an SO is and does! (alot of casual players seem to need it
explained..in game)
thank you. -
