I shall miss my 'Activated' Badge title for my main but still, you win some, you lose some. Gotta roll with the punches.

@Croesis
I doubt they'll ever add pauses to the macro/bind system due to the potential to exploit things with it in place. As for the change back, as mentioned above macros wwork in reverse to what you write. eg:
<font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre>/bind <key> "powexec_toggle_on super speed$$powexec_toggle_on sprint"</pre><hr />
Sprint is activated before Super Speed. Alot of the more complex things you can do are a bit trial and error though.

Yeah, I've been using the trial and error method mainly! Let me give you an example of what I mean though.
For my Fire/Fire Scrapper I've made a macro which has the spinchange costume emote, Fire Shield activation (using the powertray command) and badge title change, in that order (had the character say a cheesy line too but for some reason the actual change of the outfit lagged behind the animations with the /local line in the macro). This gives me a spin title change is instant and after the spin costume change the fire shield animation plays. This is all good.
The reason behind my wanting a pause function was for the reverse:
I have another macro for the change back which goes Spinchange, badge title change then deactivate fire shield in that order. Problem is the entire macro animation has the Fire Shield de-activating right at the start of the macro animation whereas I'd prefer it to go during the spin animation or just after.
It's not a major issue, when I eventually reach 30 with that character (it'll be a while) I'll have an aura that should automatically provide the desired effect, but thats why I ask. -
Never say no to increased options
-
Needs a pause funtion. I've been writing some macros recently. One in particular has a local speech command plus emoted costume change plus ability activation plus badge title change. This works well because there is a small natural pause in the macro when the ability is invoked.
Doing a 'change back' emote suffers due to no pause function so the ability that is now on turns off right at the start of the macro (despite the fact that it's last in the command list) when I'm wanting it to turn off in the middle.
Obviously this will be rectified when I get the appropriate aura at lvl 30, but a pause command will be useful in other ways too.
Also the /setsgmode 0/1 command works insofar as it turns off the mode as intended but in a long macro the SG costume colours (or in my case the sg emblem) persists, requiring me to turn on sg mode and off again.
Plus, what is up with specifying the SG colours for each costume but the hide SG emblem is linked through all costumes? -
What this thread now needs is moar cowbell.
-
I've had the few occasional jumps but nothing too bad.
Also, I've been playing ChiIl in SG mode since joining, the SG colours almost match the colour theme of the clothing he already had and teh SG symbol looks pretty cool with it so I can look cool and earn prestige at the same time! -

What part of "No." are you guys struggling with?
[/ QUOTE ]
The part in which we're still allowed to discuss the idea despite people's objections and despite the ability of the current engine to allow it.
Simply saying 'No' or 'Yes' to a suggestion without providing a reason for that answer isn't big, it isn't clever and people are liable to simply ignore you. -
I would imagine the easiest way to add a swinging travel power would be to show a line shooting away from the hand which is seen for a certain length before fading and the line disappears (or fades away) when the user lets go of it) So the line wouldn't actually have to attach to anything but can be rp'd that it's attached somewhere. Then basically adapt flight controls W,A,S,D for directional movement (mind you swinging sideways may need some imaginative animation..) and space and X for higher altitude and lower altitude.

I'm in for voiced content as long as it's done in a decent fashion (not cheesy unless the NPC's character calls for cheesyness). The size of the download wouldn't bother me to be honest. The only people who'd have a problem in this age of broadband are those either still on dial-up or low broadband speeds (<1Mb) or those with ISP's who put download caps on their service.

I presume you're aiming for an "Iceman" style sliding effect, but can you change the colour of the power slide effect? ISTR its kind of purple which might not work thematically for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct and I believe I could RP my way around the colour, although having a blue for powerslide would have been excellent! -

if you need to take out a loan to get a beasty old pc, do it. It's a worthwhile investment.
[/ QUOTE ]
Getting loans, even if it's viable in many peoples cases, is easier said then done with the current downturn and banks restricting their offers. It's certainly not how they were a year or so ago when they were throwing money (that they didn't have) at people.
Personally I won't be forced to upgrade to run a game I could run previously unless it's a game I'm really into, I would, however, upgrade for a new game if necessary.
back on topic though, if it wasn't concerns with the games engine and the requirements for an overhaul, I'd be right behind a stretchy powerset. -

And I am looking into possible ways to get that EU CoV Collectors Slide power. I should have more information about that tomorrow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sweet, thanks. I'd be happy if it was to be included in a future booster pack or something similar. Not so much if it was part of a veterans award though (It'd be a long time before me getting it and my Ice Hero would go withoutand to be honest that character is the reason why I asked
).
As for buying boxed versions from ebay or w/e, as far as I understand buying a box set with a code is fine as long as that code hasn't been used already to make an NC account or linked to an NC account and the seller is trying to sell the account. -
Is this simply an attempt to keep seperate birthday threads to a minimum?

I wouldn't think the 512Mb card would be making too much heat for the rest of the system to cope with, although perhaps it's causing too much heat for itself.. Does it have plenty of space around it for heat disspiation, nothing blocking the air flow (cables etc..)?
Also, it it's determined that it is simply faulty and even if you're out of date on your warrenty with the Gfx card you can still demand a replacement from the store/site you got it from, statutory rights rights ftw. -
Shame about that. Saves me some embarrassment though. As for it being a much requested feature, I did use the search function but no matches. I'm beginning to think that the search funtion is useless.
-
First off I'll just say that this is such a nooby question that I can't actually believe I'm asking it, then I had to decide whether or not to put it in the Player Questions or New Player sections.
I was looking up flight poses (now I have a character who can fly.. had fun buzzing around Atlas last night!) and someone suggested binding the preferred flight pose emote to Shift+W so you tap shift when you fly forward (got a pose and autorun binded to R already)
Anyway the use of Shift got me wondering, in other MMO's while the default character movement is running you have a key (I've always used Shift.. now you see my thought process!) which causes them to walk (I don't want to run everywhere all the time) but I couldn't for the life of me find the option for it in the key config.
Does CoX have a walk function (I don't recall anyone strolling about)? Is it in the key config and I'm simply going blind? -
bah, so swift (think it's swift) and a glowing foot aura is the closest thing then?
Mind you I think my account was an original CoV account, but I'm not gonna look around for a box to try it out -
So I have a character with whom the Prestige Powerslide would go well with. The only problem is as far as I've read this power is only available with the Hero Kit (or DVD collectors edition of CoH), which I don't believe is available anymore on plaync's store.
Is there any other way of getting this power or one similar? -
Honestly I'm not into pets which are there for the sake of being there, I'd rather have one that is useful. Saying that though, I'm not against the idea if it provides more content and enjoyment for collectors etc.

What annoys me, also, if it's a known issue perhaps they should actually do something about it?

They have more important things to sort out, like stopping PLers and farmers.

Are they doing so? -
