Well Jester I am probably a big Pingu fan because in my heart of hearts deep down inside I am still a Pingu (PCJL ='s Pingu 2 me).

But really the reason I always list you guys is because you are an example of a very small SG that impacts this server in a huge way. YOu do so while still being able to be a bunch of *** holes, so that is win, win.

Either way you are blessed if people do not judge you atleast occassionally by the company that you keep. Most of society is not that lucky.

Are you ******* kidding me? Every single Sg I just listed does not do open recruiting. All of them do various things for the community from running hami raids, community events and give away assloads of money to the server without one drop of damn drama. So if an SG doesn't run RECRUITING events then they are ignoring people? Wow. I don't want to recruit your members and I can assure you the SG's I listed don't want to either. To be quite blunt we know that taking in people from an SG known for drama (and AOW is solely because of you) brings unnecessary problems in to our SG's, in fact several of us learned that lesson after taking in homeless SF members a while back). The only reason I recommended some SG names is to let those people quitting AOW know that there are good SG's out there that are drama-free and actually help their members and community and not just talk a good talk. *cough*

That seems to be the point about SG leadership you are missing. Your SG doesn't grow from openly recruiting people. You can invite 10 new PUG/random person in AP to an SG and a week later 8 of them have quit and the other 2 have never signed back on. SG's get bigger, or more importantly stronger by the members and leaders having a good reputation in the community and teaming with others. When teaming they make new friends who become interested in their SG's. Then quality members are gained. But when you are a ******** and alienate yourself and your SG from the Community and you don't team with the Community then all you can get in the way of members is a bunch of people who don't stick around or who are just there to leech off of the SG to get PL's etc. Let your reputation be your recruiting strategy instead of wasting gaming hours trying to build something up that has no sturdy foundation and is just going to keep crumbling.

Let me tell you why UHB, Pingus, HOJ, RDLV, BOSS, EG, etc are so well known and respected on this server. Its not because they have a lot of members. It is not because of prestige ranking. It is because their members and leaders are very active in the community. They are all respected as being decent gamers and helping others. They all have ZERO drama for the most part.

You are on such a ******* rampage to boost yourself up and be part of the "kool kids" club that you perceive as being important on this server that you keep stepping on the foreheads of those you are pretending like you want to help to get to the top.

People that sincerely want to "help" (word you like to throw out a lot) others do so with no strings attached. Do so without causing discomfort and drama for those that they are trying to help. They do so with no benefit to themselves. (That means not recruiting during these "help" sessions.)

Community Organizers, whether in RL or in a video game are priveledged to serve a community. The community should not have to kiss their *** for that service. You don't throw freaking events like a psycho tyrant and expect people to enjoy your events or respect you. That is something that is earned. Its not earned in one or two events either I can assure you of that.

Look at every other person on this server that regularly throws events. Do you see people going off on them like they do you? Do you see them having to promise billions of dollars in prizes to even get any interest? Peoples reactions to you is because of you. Not your SG. Hell before your event the other day I didn't know not one single person from AOW. The only experience I have had with any AOW members besides yourself is the occassional person on a PUG. I hate to tell you this but most on this server are probably in the same boat. The only thing most of us know about AOW is their leader who keeps bringing drama not only to themselves but to their SG's name.

I would have to beg to differ on this one. Saying you don't want to be judged by the company you keep is just ludicrous. We are judged in real life that way, why should it be any different in a video game?

If you surround yourselves with prostitutes or druggies in real life everyone is going to assume that is what you are. That doesn't make it right, but it is what it is. If you work for some dude that is selling child pornography, and you know he is doing it, just because you don't buy it or sell it doesn't mean you don't stand the chance of going to jail as well. Of course extreme examples, but you get the point.

Actually only a couple of people say they have quit. The past history SG I was referencing had the same type of posts and occassionally people quitting. Sadly though with every 1 lost there was 10 more gained from the "we are the underdog" card being played.

Sadly you are wrong. Somehow or another talking trash, offending the community, alienating the group from the community and playing the "everyone hates me and is out to get "US" card works well for building extremely large and dedicated SG's. Look at past history.

I don't know who you are personally, but kudos on your post. You should never lower yourself to not speaking out against wrongs or "kissing ***" because someone is paying for your account. You might be surprised at the help you might receive if you asked for it here on the boards. I can think of a few times that it was brought to the Champion communities attention that someone couldn't afford a time card and one/some were donated.

While I am thinking about it, for those of you that have left AOW....there are LOTS of very good SG's on Champion. Both large and small. HOJ, UHB, Pingus, RDLV and of course LES to name a few off the top of my head. Of course the Pingus are all ******** but atleast they admit it. :-) Point is there are hundreds of SG's that have integrity, don't have psycho leaders, don't make their members recruit or farm for prestige (Gads I thought the last major sweat shop left Champion a few months ago).

It might have been. With 3 almost identical threads about the same thing and the same OP it does tend to blur together indeed.

Odd. I guess I need to check with my 2nd in command or my Officers. Apparently they must not have notified me of this super fabulous invitation they found in the mailbox.

This made me think of something very important. Being a community organizer is a priviledge. If the community doesn't support your events then you have no job to do, no fulfillment comes from running them. Perhaps rather than think everyone should be kissing your *** because you run some events you should learn the definition of humility. (–noun the quality or condition of being humble; modest opinion or estimate of one's own importance, rank, etc.)

I am actually jealous though, I can't get away with being a total ******** ***** because my Sg members would be embarrassed and quit.
