  2. Basically I got RL kicked my *** and I got shipped to Aussie and became MIA as a leader. Reaver then became MIA as a leader. The team tried to hold it together but with no leadership and no practices it didn't work out. Several have already been traded and a few more trades are in the works and as soon as I get that done tonight I will be disbanning the team.

    Soooo if any captains want to trade inactives for any of my guys please contact them to see if they want to play with you and let me know asap.

  3. Like OZ said, it mostly worked the same as pve and made sense. Most all types of toons were viable and they each had a role in the team dynamics. Now? Not so much....

  5. PVP'rs have been struggling to get pve'rs interested in pvp. Several leagues on a few different servers have been ran. There are several in the community who run regular zone or kickball events.

    The fact that people insinuate that pvpr's infamous attitudes is what keeps people from wanting to pvp is ********. If that were the case then the pve tards that bless this game with their ability to make any tf or team not fun due to their horrible attitude or gaming skills would run people away from pve. Or that annoying level 53 random NPC that 2shots players over and over again making it not fun would run the pver's away from the game.

    PVPr's have had a reputation of smack talking since this game started. Yet it used to be a thriving community none the less. PVPr's have run community events for pvp since this game started. It used to work to organize events, more and more people joined and enjoyed it. PVPr's haven't changed nor has their focus on building up the community. What has changed is the fun factor due to the pvp gaming mechanics.

    People like variety, they want to play different toons. However there are all of maybe 3-5 builds that are even remotely competive in pvp nowadays. People want to use inspirations just like in pve and have them actually do something. People want to buff, debuff, trow holds or stuns and have them effective like they are in pve. People want their travel powers to work in pvp like they do in pve.

    I can't tell you how many times people have joined the pvp community all gungho about it to then get frustrated because none of those fabulous toons they dumped a bunch of money in to are competitive in the current pvp system. Yeah you can play any toon in pvp, but them being effective and competitive is a different story.

    I have a total of 37 level fifty toons. Almost all of which I leveled through pve content. Out of 37 toons that are level 50 I actually enjoy playing about 20 of them. Out of those 20 toons that all have pretty expensive builds on them I have all of FOUR that are viable for team pvp. Before i13 probably about 16 of them were viable pvp toons.

    There is nothing that the pvp community can do to build up the pvp community that it isn't or hasn't already been done. We can paint a pretty picture of how fabulous it is and how everyone should jump in and try it. We can walk around being all polite and painting pictures of carebears and wishing everyone a jolly good day after each match. However the fact still remains that once they jump in and their feet get stuck in the stinky slime that we currently call pvp they will go back to the fabulous world of pve where their buffs actually buff, their heals actually heal, their damage actually damages and their holds actually hold. Where they can play ANY toon and be effective. Why in the world would anyone trade all of that in to spend time being ineffective...and pay a monthly fee to do it too?

  6. I can't fathom why but the reality of it is that there are LOTS of people who like i13 pvp. I highly doubt they would ever change it totally back. From a business standpoint it would be just as bad to take away i13pvp from the carebears as it was for them to take away i12pvp from the rest of us.

    I think asking for an i12 button in the arena and maybe 1 zone to be i12 is much more feasible than to remotely think they would consider just admitting they were wrong and changing it all back.

    While arena is good for tournament stlye play, and the only thing i ever used it for before the changes, to test builds with friends, open zone is what was always more fun for me.

    There should be no difference in how a toon performs from PvP vs. PvE.
    Every AT has a role & it needs to be changed back to that.
    No one should have to learn a different system to compete, having thier toons play the way they do in PvE IS the first step to getting people to stay in the zones with something they are comfortable already playing.
  7. Here is a topic for you. Explain why paying customers keep saying what they want and rather than giving it to us we just keep getting threads like this. The time it has taken for various community organizers to start threads like this could have been contributed to an I12 button in the arena kiosk. I am not a game developer but even I know it can't possibly be so hard it wouldn't be worth doing just to make some customers happy. Hell the time you guys would save on modding the threads in this section alone would probably be worth the time invested in creating an i12 button.

  8. This. Seriously. Personally for me I am beyond frustrated with the devs response to the pvp community.

    For example the PvPEC used to be VERY active. We used to have reps on every server and more reps volunteering to help than we actually had room for. Even though I hated i13 changes I still took over running it to support pvp and thinking that NC would eventually make moves to make the situation better.

    I can't get people to volunteer to be PvPEC reps if I bribed them. The few reps that still look at our private forums occasionally haven't the slightest interest in running events. The participants that might participate in any events ran only do so if we offer decent prizes where they used to do it just to pvp and have fun. Hell I pm'd over 3 weeks ago to get prize support for a 2v2 tourney I was going to run but have had no ambition to set it up because really what is the point? Hard work setting up and running events for pvp we don't enjoy any more for people who don't really enjoy it any more to give the false impressions to the devs that people are actually enjoying the pvp?

    Maybe the real solution is to stop pvp'n and sending the message that people actually enjoy this crappy button smashing and all cancel our accounts. Hold on that was done by a huge percentage of the pvp community after I13 came out and all you guys did was...nothing.

    I am with Philly, come out and pvp with us. Mod08 did. Lighthouse did. Ex Libris did. Niviene did. Having forum conversations insinuating that anything is going to be progressive towards giving paying customers what they want which is a more viable pvp system...is insulting to say the least when we all know better.

    Give us I12 back with the current arena setting still available. All zones back to I12. Until you do that talking about adding games, goals or different reward ideas is about as retarded as trying to drive a car on square wheels.

    PvP isn't getting worked on anytime soon there is no need to get peoples hopes up for PR BS, only to crush them when as the months roll by nothing is done or announced. Most of us where in a static state of hopelessness, which is better than the up's and downs your starting. The few fixes and arena options we have now weren't even done on NC Soft time so NC Soft dev team didn't even give us that. One lone dev that actually cares did, to him TY.

    So until you can say straight out what is or isn't planed with details IMO it's best to not say anything at all (I say that knowing that there will never be a plan announced until it's in the works). Again I'm glad you want to reach out to the PvP community but I don't think this thread will help but I see the hope in some peoples constructive posts and eventuality of the let down yet again. If you really want to reach out to the PvP community come out to the league matches one night, go to some of the server kickball nights, go to different servers and zone PvP with them. See what they are doing and talk to them.

    You might want to do some research into CoX PvP and the constant let down that this aspect of the community gets. It's a small community now which is sad.
  9. Pretty sure this is like any other league or ladder, if both Captains agree to a change / reset there is no rule against it. I would say make sure you screenshot the broadcast of the other captain agreeing to the reset in case some one tries to play the deuchebag card after the fact.

    I don't remember what me or Reaver voted. Put it up for a revote if you feel strongly about it. There are what 5 teams and 2 of the teams are using it strategically. Pretty sure though our vote would probably be to ban them. Actually though we have done decently on the few cave matches we did during practice because PF is full of win and figured out pretty much how to make them not as fail as they could be.

  18. Seems like there are a few teams having issues getting 8 together to practice. Even though we have 8 on most nights we practice we find several have schedule conflicts and we end up short on specific roles.

    We also have a few people who have yet to show up for a practice and from what I have heard other teams have the same problem.

    The longer teams practice together the better they will mesh and the more competitive the pvp will be.

    There is a team that is re entering the draft from what I see and people that want to pvp. Seems like time to put all these factors together.

    I would like to propose ( and Reaver agrees) to move the next draft date up to some time in the next few days to let teams fill in their empty spots and get all these people that just want to pvp on a team sooner.

  19. Mmmmm good practices on Tues, Wed & Sat night @ 10 pm EST. Any teams wanting to schedule some practices send me or Reaver a pm. While we appreciate Rice's team and random pug teams being nice enough to practice with us it sure would be nice to have some variety. :-)

  24. We voted on how it should be before any teams even posted their 6 so to change it now would be unfair. I think the advantage the short team has is way less significant than the disadvantage it would have being stuck with 2 flying rads with 1000 HP from what is left from the draft at the end. That would make it pretty difficult to even be competitive with such a small roster.
  25. We are supposed to roll dice to determine that. I know my team will get the first 2 picks being we lost 2 people yesterday. Then it will be the rolled draft order I believe is what we discussed.
