Not sure if this'll help, but if your in need of a good(and somewhat creepy) anatomy source try

    Anatomia .

Tons of plates on just about every human muscle/bone structure there is.

I'd say it's NSFW but you can always claim your a med student on the side... that or your "that" guy in the office so no-one bothers you anyway.

Hrmm... Drat!! I can't find that old Wizard anywheres!!

Well, what I wanted to show ya was a Note to the Animators from Bruce Timm explaining how to draw Harley Quinn correctly. It was positively brilliant, with handwritten notes and everything... DRAT IT ALL!! But...

I hope these Darwyn Cooke studies'll help.

Lemme Dig around Bas. I'm sure I got somethin that'll help, and If I remember right it's a Bruce Timm thing too.
  18. Here's a nice tale for ya,

    ---

Legend has it that Pablo Picasso was sketching in the park when a bold woman approached him.

“It’s you — Picasso, the great artist! Oh, you must sketch my portrait! I insist.”

So Picasso agreed to sketch her. After studying her for a moment, he used a single pencil stroke to create her portrait. He handed the women his work of art.

“It’s perfect!” she gushed. “You managed to capture my essence with one stroke, in one moment. Thank you! How much do I owe you?”

“Five thousand dollars,” the artist replied.

“B-b-but, what?” the woman sputtered. “How could you want so much money for this picture? It only took you a second to draw it!”

To which Picasso responded, “Madame, it took me my entire life.”

    ---

To my Fellow Artists. Don't sell us short.

I self publish. Alot of small Zines and what not(mostly Punky-DIY stuff) and I dropped 5k last year into an Art Book that doesn't sell, but gets nice write ups.

For me, it's not about the money per se. It's the respect and acknowledgement of my peers... but Last year's book Bankrupted me. I lost/quit my job, moved cross country to live with my Sister and her Husband begrudgingly. I'm in debt about 16k with no prospects of really ever being able to pay any of it back within a reasonable amount of time so as to not hurt my credit, yadda, yadda...

Sure, Like I said: It's not really about the money per se... but it sure helps.

Me 2 bits... wait, on second thought I might need those for bus fare.

I've always thought TA just doesn't look like an Assassin enough.

Ultimate TA should play more to that angle, and the fact that he's CENTURIES old.

The main thing about the Ultimate line is that is stream lines the costume. Pull back some of the useless stuff and just make it all around more realistic. I think a big step would be taking away your cape and maybe even your hood.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I dont think Ultimate does this too often. Sure alot of their costumes are differant, but alot are pretty much the same too. Spideys is the same, Captains is pretty much the same, just kind of more detailed. Even most of the X-mens costumes are pretty much what they've had in the past.

The biggest part of Ultimate is the reimagining of the origin/background/storyline.

Thats all mostly my opinion on it though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

NO!! CAP'S definitely not the SAME.

Same Origin sure, but Ult. Cap and 616 Cap are totally different in terms of how they Act and ReAct to situations.

I won't go into a big Fanboy'sm but Simply put. 616 Cap is very Charismatic and truly Patriotic. Ult Cap has been likened to a Gov't Errand boy. Think Frank Miller's versions of Batman(616 Cap) and Superman(Ult Cap).

Ultimates is a good line. Not Amazing enough to ever be on my pull list though.

Re-Imaginings of Characters and their places/relationships in the Marvel Universe. The Biggest one I've seen is Galactus has been transformed from Gigantic Cosmic Being that literally devours planets to... An Intergalactic Parasitic Organism that sucks the life out of planets.

I actually really like the Ultimates take on Costumes.

Functionality. That's it. Ultimate Cap's the best redesign so far IMHO. I mean take a Flashy Red/White/&Blue Outfit and turn it into a very believable and fully functional Uniform.

    And nice Rendition LJ!!

    Me 2 bits,

Of course its relevant. Old school Disney knew what it was doing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I remember those shows with Wat Disney taking you through the studio and talking about how they draw out the cartoons. The walls would be covered in art!

I used to love seeing that!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I loved that too!. I'd tune in every chance I could get to catch "Wonderful World of Disney", with me accompanyin Satchmo beltin out "A Wonderful World".

Well, I'm not sure Eisner's totally to blame for Disney's downfall, but when I hear "Disney's New Animated- yadda,yadda,yadda..." I just tune it out. Maybe it's the crass commercialism, maybe it's me gettin more cynical as I grow older but "Disney" doesn't do much for me anymore.

Ducktales FTW!! Huey, Dewey and Louie!!!
