I came across this while looking up some build info for a friend...lil old, but some ideas to toss around so you can start to build you own concept:

Quote:I dont have a build and maybe someone else has thoughts to share on those specific powersets...but any Stalker can work in PvP. Like any other AT though, there are some sets that are more optimized to do better. For instance, WP is a favorite b/c it doesnt have to cost a lot and it naturally builds on attributes that help a Stalker like built in perception, KB protection and doesnt need much to cap out HP to name a few. Many go with secondaries that have built in heals for a panic button type situation.I have a d/d stalker that I have had forever. I am not sure what to do with him. I have an unlimited budget.
I am not familiar with how PVP works either.
Any thoughts or build to share?
As far as primaries, there are some favorites out there for various reasons, but again..any can work with the AS, placate, sharks etc combo.
Do a search on the PvP forums if you havent already to see if there is something there you can use if you don't get the feedback that you're looking for here. -
IDK man, besides the kid shooting, there was a major story item in the graphic novel based on the farm and not shane shooting cool, fatboy hunter types. I dont need to see that show stick to exacts, but I would like to see this one happen.

Quote:Agreed sir, agreed.
DnD nerds ftw. -
Quote:You gotta admit though its a sexier scenario if said character has +200 Armor Class Leathers of Divine Dragon Protection (ie enough IOs/power selections to softcap) when he initiates that conversation and attack cycle.I thought they gave you those melee attacks for when the enemy finally gets in your face, at which point you push the 'either die or get away from me' button and hope you don't get turned into paste. Not so you can walk up to the Ancient Red Dragon and say "Hi! I've only got 1d4 HP! *dagger stab!*"...

Ares, stop being so snippy!
Hope you guys have a blast man and gj trying to get more people interested in PvP. -
Quote:Prem, what kind of budget are you working with for this toon? Also, I really like the concept. So I'm coming up with a concept build, and I want advice on how to make it "work" as best as it can.
The basic premise is someone empowered by the Spirit of a Raiju To become a Henshin hero, Thus Sonic for thunder and electric for lightning. I also want to play as much with the games distance and Area mechanics as possible just to make the combat feel more "real" to me, so I'm trying to squeeze a lot of Aoe out of it. In addition, toku heroes tend to use martial arts a lot more than esoteric "powers" hence the "blapper" idea. All of this probably sounds very stupid but If someone could help me with putting together a decently capable blapper with this info, one that can survive long enough to kill the things around it, I'd really appreciate it. -
It looks like I have to duck out before even starting. Im permanently working a nightshift now (just found out, normally rotate different shifts) so that means Ill be sleeping from 5:30pm until I wake up to go in. Seems like that would be the prime time for most of getting together to play.
Im sorry, but Ill be following the thread and hoping to see pix/vids of you guys doing it up -
Im really looking at secondaries to figure out my next stalker primary and so far based off of Micro's breakdown, Ice Armor is it so far.
With Energy being retooled and the new addition of Ice, what secondaries offer the best in ranged defense? -
Quote:Eastern time here and game for a few nites a week depending on times...work nites.Even more friends!
Hrm, up to 6 players now... think we need to start deciding on two things:
A. Playtime - I'm PDT (GMT-8), and am generally more free on Weekends vice Weekdays. Also, I'd not be playing more frequently than once a week for this team.
B. If we do want to hold to a concept, or just roll whatever. We are close to having 1 of each secondary, but I'm the only one so far who's voiced support for the idea, e'en though y'all are pretty much inline with it.
Thoughts, ideas? (and apologies to Zeh_Masteh, I think I've taken over slightly)
claws/ice armor guy
Game for pretty much anything, I just like the overall concept.
edit - just realized someone else is playing /Ela...so Ill go with /ice -
Quote:Ill take Claws/Electric Alex for $200 Alex!o_O? What's wrong with it? Seems to me it has better design, more streamlined mission trees, and is visually more interesting. Plus, less zones makes for less travel.
I will go blue, if we decide that route, but I do prefer red-side overall. Paragon City is a little chintzy/easy to me. (alternately, we could start gold/purple and play with the Emperor's minions)
But, roster so far:
Zeh_Masteh - MA/Nrg
Errant - ElM/DA (StJ/Nrg alt)
Slaunyeh - Spines/Nin -
Quote:sadly, there are some whackjobs out there who won't invite people to a team if they don't have "enough" or "large enough" set bonuses in their profile. these morons also tend to think you need "healors" and very specific AT mixes for things like a non-master ITF run.
But they are out there. Luckily on most servers they are not the majority.
I've bumped into one yahoo on Virtue recruiting for a speed baf that would only accept +3s on the team and wanted to know AT and powersets before sending invites.
seen a lot of that on freedom too when I played there...for TFs etc :\ -
Sometimes its cool to try out a build that "goes against" the design concept. Some people enjoy the challenge, some just like to be unique snowflakes...
We've all seen forum posts discussing melee Crabs, solo form HEATs, ranged blast Stalkers etc etc; it just is what it is. The actual target to achieve here is to play what and how you like. -
Im game...been wanting to try a new lolstalker, its been a buttload of issues since playing one.
I was thinking claws/energy or ice
@njcash -
I dont think I ever looked at one of my builds or anyone elses and thought..."Oh snap, that dude got 75 ultimates!"
I just slap builds together in Mids, IO the toon and whatever bonus' it has...it just has. Figured everyone else did the same. -
Quote:Im no Bill Nye the Science Guy at all, but Im not sure about the dogs dying off so quickly deal...could be though. I say that because when I was in the military, a large amount of my time was spent at Ft Hood, Texas...largest military base stateside. Some of the units I was stuck in would go out to conduct these obscenely long training exercises in the boonies, basically miles and miles of open woodlands away from civilization used for heavy weapon firing ranges etc. While back there playing soldier, we would run across packs of wild dogs that people had probably abandoned/dumped (Honey, we just got orders for Germany. Yes! What about the dogs? Dangit! We'll just "drop them off" before we go)...they were just running around and hunting dear etc. In these packs were A LOT of small dogs...I mean like Pomeranian small dogs hoofing it alongside the German Sheperd types and assorted mutts. It was really strange to see. The smaller ones could have died off quickly I suppose.I've watched several of those "Life after People" shows that they've had on the NatGeo/Science type channels. Basically each episode covers a different aspect of what would happen to the world months and years after a sudden disappearance of all humans from the planet. I realize that's not quite the same as a Zombie Apocalypse, but as far as most dogs and cats would go it's probably a pretty close approximation.
According to these shows the fate of most of our dog breeds would be death in a matter of a few months. Unless a dog is already pretty big and relatively close to being "wolf-like" then they are going to be goners from their inability to hunt in the wild and from predation from larger animals. So much for the tea-cup poodles of the world. Any surviving domesticated dogs would very quickly, like in a matter of just a few generations, go back towards the size and shape of wolf-like feral animals. The show assumed domestic cats would fair better in the post-human world, assuming they weren't locked up inside people's houses or whatnot.
And housecats? Yeah...theyre just wild animals waiting to happen as soon as you let them out the front door. I think theyve been domesticated for a lot shorter period of time compared to dogs. -
Quote:Ive seen a cpl versions of "domesticated" zombies in...We can always domesticate some other species after the apocalypse.
1 - Shaun of the Dead
2 - The Walking Dead comic (Michonne? had zombies on leashes with their jaw bones removed if I remember correctly)
Who wants a pet zombie? -
I would have liked to been a fly on the wall with the dev boss chewing out some buttocks after realizing there are some playing TW toons now.

Please send me an email with your address...when the shite goes down, Imma come down and hang out with you since I live up the street from ya.

Quote:Portable, killer slingshot...I like itWell apparently, a few dozen industrial strength rubber bands, some strong wooden planks or steel poles, a crowbar (to break stuff up into smaller handheld chunks) and a rooftop full of junk would economical, silent and somewhat portable for clearing out an area. Just move from rooftop to rooftop, taking zombies out with junk as ammo, and melee the ones hiding inside rooms.
As for covering up in zombie guts to hide...after a while, that can't be hygienic.
Reference zombie guts, I was talking about slathering it on and hobbling away instead of shooting people for distraction purposes...
1) Showers ftw
2) Youd run out of sidekicks to shoot after awhile. -
I think covering up in zombie guts would have worked, but as pratical as it is...would be a boring tactic to keep using in the show.
-
I started jogging again this morning just because of this episode and Im stacking up on ankle support devices to slap on while on the move if need be.

Quote:Agreed, but heres how your scenario would have played out if I was Otis...Shane didn't do anything I would not have done. When push comes to shove one of them had to survive to save Carl and Otis was the weakest link. Although I would have at least asked him to make the sacrifice first. Then shot him in the head or something.
Shane: Hey man, you should take one for the team since we parked the vehicle 10 miles away and we're not going to make it...these supplies gotta get back bro.
Otis (me): ???
Blam Blam Blam...Ill make sure the others know that you died with dignity and respect.
(exit stage right to the farmhouse all teary eyed and whatnot) -
Quote:Tough choicesRemember how I was starting to feel for Shane?
Well, that's done.
I bet more people than not would have done the same thing or something similiar. It was mad cold blooded though, I think Shane would have been seen in a better light had he just shot Otis in the face as opposed to beating him for 2 hours until the zombies caught up.
