  1. Here's a start. My first subject will be my hero Cosmic Sentinel. Here are a few screenies I will be working from.

    Cosmic 1
    Cosmic 2
    Cosmic 3
    Cosmic 4

And here is the prelimanary pose sketch:

    Cosmic Pose Sketch

This is going to be an in-flight pose and I'm gunning for some perspective so that his head and upper torso seem to be coming off the page. I want the right leg (Cosmic's left) to go further back into the distance. I'm not pleased with the current rendition but am not sure which way to go.

Again thanks in advance for helping me with my not so mad skills.
  2. Going in game to get some screenies and then I'm going to get crackin' (I almost typed kraken, thanks Pirates).

Any further critique of my old drawing would be hot.
  3. Looking good man. I'm jumping back on the art bus today as well. I think I've got a little more work cut out for me. You look like you are on the right track. Keep it up.
  4. I am going to try to jump back into drawin today and due to the awesome advice given on these boards I wanted to post the last serious thing I drew before I start to tackle some CoH stuff. This is a drawing of a character I used in some Star Wars table top RPG sessions:

    Old SW Drawing

I know a couple of problems I have already.

    1) Start strong, finish fast.
-This is something I need to work on. In this particular drawing I started at the top and worked down to the feet. I got so excited about the way it was going that I got in a rush and totally screwed up his legs. The are way too short and the pose is weak. Feet aren't too great either.

    2) Utilizing Base Shapes
    - something I need to utilize more.

    3) Shading
    - I just need all kinds of help here.

Also, I stop at pencil. Anything I've tried to ink and/or color ends up looking like crap.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I'll post anything else I get done for further critique.
  5. I will sign for this...the Big Red Ball.

What if it was a ball that never stopped moving. A Big Red Pinball, if you will, acting more like the cars and pedestrians in normal zones. Except, instead of moving slightly to the side as it approached, it would bounce back.

Also, I want to car surf. Why must they move out from under me. Oh and Blimp surfing. I don't even have room to write how awesome that would be.
  6. Fantistic Guide!!! I, like an earlier poster, always avoided that pesky star. Unavoidably, for about two months straight, in every pick-up group I joined I ended up being the first team member added. As soon as the leader left that star plopped down right next to my name. That was always my cue to leave until finally, one day I just said screw it I'll take the stupid sheriff's badge. I've got to say I typed my fingers off, but I had the most fun I had since opening the box. I still rarely form my own groups but now when that star slides down, and it's at least a fairly decent team I gladly take the reigns. It is a lot of work, but it can be a lot of fun too.

The one thing I would add is a furthering of the importance of psychology. It is imperitive that you know the mood of your team. I personally like a team that can goof around a little bit. A chat window full of LOL's is a much more enjoyable experience for me. Some players hate this mindset. They want everyone to be super serious. For the most part though, I think joking around at a reasonable level raises the spirits of the team and makes the whole night a blast.
  7. Never thought I would be a fan of PvP either, but I must admit (lag aside) that was a blast. When you were in the air looking down on the event it was truly awesome. It realy had a warzone feel. And, since getting unknowingly ganked is part of war sometimes, I could excuse that.
