  1. Looks like Dechs must of missed this thread or didn't feel like posting as I'm sure he would of suggested Claws.

Myself, I went StJ. I was having a hard time leveling both of these sets in previous attempts but StJ/DA together was just to much fun to stop. Sure there were a few problems with end along the way but the more layered mitigation you got from both sets just made for a great time.
  2. It's not actually a 100% debuff and 50% debuff. That's actually the percentage it has to apply itself on each attack.

The -tohit is 5% per application and the -regen is 15% per application and each can stack up to 4 times from all players that can apply it to a mob.

I only have one toon past the Alpha slot so far and that is my SS/Fire brute. For him he has plenty of damage and not so much defense so I'd much rather have the -tohit be 100% guaranteed.

The -regen does seem to help me defeat things even quicker.

I guess it's up to you on how your SS/WP plays. Do you feel you need to defeat things quicker or possibly more survivability?
  3. Seems like a great addition to me. Any way to add to the amount of damage you and your team are doing to a target is a plus in my book.

Bruising was actually added to help the solo tanker more then anything else. Tankers don't have the damage output of other melee ATs, so this ability was put in to help.
  4. As I understand it, the power can not stack anything in anyway.

The resistance debuff will always be -20% no matter how many times you and other tankers hit the same target with your tier one power.

The duration will also not exactly stack. It will however refresh. So, if you and another tank hit the target with your tier 1 attacks at the same time, your target will still only have a 10 second debuff not a 20 second debuff. If one of you hits the target again with your tier 1 attack 5 seconds after the first application, the duration will be reset to 10 seconds.

Not that it matters much anyway since most enemies will be dead before 10 seconds anyway, with the -20% resistance debuff, unless your fighting something particularly tough or very high ranked.
  5. Gee, I read the title of this post and had a few choice names already picked out for your Arsonist. Psycho Man, Face Planted, Dirt Taster, ect.

Now that I've read your post, I'm not sure I ever noticed this problem on any of the Thug MMs I've made. I have seen minions re-spawn in different orders on re-summons on all my MMs. I must of always had them key bound just like Dormio says. Do it by name instead of by pet number order.

Haha, your absolutely right. Was so caught up in the spelling of red to read that I never even noticed that pea was spelled wrong too.

However, in my experience urine tends to either be more orange or clear color then yellow.

Anyways, all of them could still be good colors for the Demon set as long as paired up with a really nice contrasting color.

Maybe so but I've at least heard of pee green before and paired with a good color to match it's actually good looking. At least in a super hero world.

Now that would be cool and I admit to being an art noob. I'm always so jealous of those that are good at creating wonderful art.

Just kidding, I'll go with dark read and dark black or dark yellow. The Bright pallets looked odd.
I can't find the "dark read" color.

Seriously though, I like all the colors schemes listed so far. Haven't played around with the Demon set coloring yet myself but this is sure tempting me to.

As for Ninja/Zombie difficulty to control? Ninja's is my primary MM choice. I'm infact loathe to give it up to go Demon's in the upcomming week. I learned quite early on how to properly control them so that only once in a rare moon is my Jounin in melee range and still shooting his dart. A simple follow me/goto repeat into melee range fixes the issue 99 times out of 100.

Though I do think doing Ninja's without Dark is just asking for a headache.
I'm not actually going to go back and read what I wrote but, that wasn't what I meant about ninjas and zombies.

I was responding to other posts that medic a pain because he'll run into melee instead of staying back like the others. If you look at it from the point of the melee primaries, they have the opposite problem. They like to stand back and fire their less powerful ranged attacks a lot of the time. Neither of which is hard to control. Just saying it's not a problem that is unique to mercs.

Ninja's are one of the few MMs I keep making because it looks so cool and they are fun. I just can't seems to decide on a secondary for myself that keeps me enjoying them while not nuts having to struggle to keep them alive at times. If only they'd make the radius wider on Twilight Grasp.

I think I found a reason. To be different then everyone else. Other then that, my new merc/storm I made is something to play for fun. I have plenty of 50s and other non 50s that have amazing kill speeds. I don't need all my toons to play that way. I need some variety in my play or I'd get bored.

I already had a 50 bot/ff and have played all the other primaries to at least the mid 20s. Ninjas and Necros can be just as annoying as the medic because most of their heavy hitters like to shoot from range instead of going into melee. The thugs arsonist drove me crazy with how fast he got himself killed no matter what secondary I paired it up with. So far, I'm enjoying mercs much more.

I chose storm for my pairing becaue I had never gotten storm to a very high level and never could get into the set. However, it seems to have a good pairing so far with mercs and has actually become fun to play. At later levels, the powers in storm will help to add damage to a lower damage primary.

Also, from other threads I've read, and can spare the inf, all the mercs can be slotted with the Achilles proc which will reduce the damage resistance of your enemies. Another way to help the lower damage.

And it has Snowstorm, which is a toggle foe-anchored Slow, Gale, a cone Knockback, Steamy Mist, a toggle PBAoe ally +stealth +def +resist, Tornado, a mobile pseudopet that does PBAoE damge, knockback, and stun, and Lightning Storm, an immobile pseudopet, that does damage and knockback (at range). Used indiscriminately, the Storm set can cause a lot of unwanted repositioning, but its very welcome partcularly among those who would be ranged attacking anyway.
You don't seem to list Storm as having an AoE slow yet you even added it to your description of the Storm powerset.

Great guide though. Always a helpful read when looking for my next controller.
  13. Your right. I typed that to fast without double checking. It's a 20% chance of 10% endurance gain.

So, it will, on average, fire off once every 50 seconds.
  14. Actually, procs in passive powers check once every 10 seconds.

The Performance Shifter proc has a 10% chance. Therefore, one of those will, on average, fire off once for every 100 seconds.

Well, beta is beta and while I can't comment on that, I'm just making guesses about the possibility of the powersets availability for preorders. Either way it wasn't really made clear except that it would be in March or April. As far as everyone knows though, only Dual Pistols is what is being tested at the moment.

At this time that information hasn't been released yet. Only some of the things that will be available to preorders.
  16. Thanks Jay. As you can see it was late at night and I obviously ignored some basic spelling.
  17. While I share your enthusiasm, take a look again. It will probably be Duel Pistols in March and Demon Summoning in April. Duel Pistols is in beta testing now. Demon Summoning isn't.
