Btw, I wish people would stop saying "you will all come back!!". Because it makes our inevitable return all the more shameful
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed for you
[/ QUOTE ]
There is nothing inevitable about a return and to such an event shameful is hardly likely to encourage anyone to return.
That's a bit low even for you joking GG. It disappointed me
[/ QUOTE ]
But it's true - you will all come back
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think even you truly believe that
[/ QUOTE ]
I do - and I'll give them all a little welcome
[/ QUOTE ]
Knowing that will mean they will never return.
Kind of a Catch 22 scenario
[/ QUOTE ]
The lure of spandex will bring them back
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe it will lure them back to a superhero MMO, but I wonder what city they will go to? -

And what made you decide to come back
[/ QUOTE ]
Bridger sent me emails offering me free stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bridger?
Uh .. I've got some bad news for you pal ...
[/ QUOTE ]
That Bridger charges for free stuff as he no longer works for NCSoft?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was the 'Free Stuff' bit that worried me -
[ QUOTE ]
Wait - shouldn't be be on Defaint too? I mean, I can understand it if you're not able to handle the awesomeness, but even a token level 1 parked in Atlas shouldn't be too hard, surely?
[/ QUOTE ]
Pssst
She knows where you live GG -

Welcome back.
I'm amazed that some people see MA as the best thing since sliced bread, whilst others see it as a potential game destroyer.
Go figure -

So we're saying that this wouldn't be a good time for an old player to come back.
[/ QUOTE ]
It depends on how long you've been away to be honest. -
[ QUOTE ]
Lack of smaller hands, lack of turnable/bendable waists, lack of proper bust shapes, lack of animated faces.
Also a lack of animals in the city, likes cats and dogs, and a lack of traffic on the busy streets, and a lack of pedestrians on the busy sidewalks.
A lack of weather features, a lack of changing scenery to go with Giant Monster rampages, a lack of base windows, doors and proper beds.
There's lots of stuff I think is lacking, but that doesn't really make me think the game is any less awesome - just that it could be even more awesome with this stuff in it.
I loved the game before RV came out, before Faultline and the RWZ, before Safeguards and Radio missions, before Cimerora and Ouroboros, before Inventions and the MA, before Rikti and Zombie invasions, before Trick or Treating and the ski lodge - why would I stop loving the game when I loved it before it got all that cool stuff?
[/ QUOTE ]
All good points and well said.
It is an awesome game - no doubt about it. My concern is the direction that we will be going in, and have been for a while now.
I'm not going to rehash everything here, but I just want to say that when I'm being critical about aspects of the game - it's because I care about it.
Those that have felt compelled to leave today also care for the game just as much as you or I. Personally I feel sorry that it has come to this for them, and maybe we should recognise that the decisions to leave were not taken lightly.
Quite the opposite in fact, I would wager. -

Well see, this is something that I know you will never understand, but my concern for a game that I love to play is causing me to be critical of it's development.
Like you, I want it to thrive.
Like you, I've enjoyed hours of play here
Like you, I wouldn't want to see the game stumble and fall
Unlike you, I can see where it is going wrong - and I'm prepared to say why I think so.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can see faults too - but nothing major
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah ok.
What do you consider to be faults then?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lack of moving hair for a start
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that's a gimme.
Anything else? -

Entirely correct. He tried to answer a lot of questions as good as he could without going into discussions. I think he did well considering the amount of questions he got asked.

It's annoying how some posts make Positron into a personification for everything people feel are wrong or displeasing about the game, as was it when the same was done to Statesman.
Give the poor guys a break. They've done some great work, both of them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree.
Both have done great work. It's the future development of the game that concerns me.

I'm comfortable with the future direction of the game

Welcome to the forums Devan, Regardless of what you are hearing from Veterans and their concerns it doesn't change the fact that if you are relatively new to either 'City of' or to the last few Issue updates then you have a great deal to look forward too!.
Good Lord!, was that just positive?! - who'd-a-thought!
[/ QUOTE ]
Good point ML.
I have a problem with the current state of the game develpment, but I have no gripe with the vast majority of what is in the game already.
Except MA, which is a very different kettle of fish. -
Devans ...
You've missed the entire point of the criticism that has been levelled at the current development of the game. -
You need to look more closely at these threads.
That is not their purpose. -
[ QUOTE ]
Us long term veterans are saying goodbye out of courtesy to the people we never see in game but chat to on the forum. Some we agree with, some we don't. some we love, some we hate with a passion. We are giving our reasons for going and try to do it in a constructive way rather than saying "this game sux".
Have you not noticed the pain between the lines of the leaving posts? People have made friends, met partners, had children, moved house, lost loved ones with CoX as a place to retreat to and escape the pain, or brag about the rugrat, or just to escape from real life for a while.
Friendships change and alter in life. Some get stronger and others fall by the wayside. CoX is a friend that for many of us has moved in a different direction than we wanted and lost its way. we have tried to explain our problems but the friend isn't listening so its time to part. Thats not to say some or all of us won't be back at some point. I'll probably pop my head round the door in a few months time to see whats happening, but for now allow the people who have put three, four or even five years of their lives to say their goodbyes.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is correct.
The people bowing out are providing valid and compelling reasons for doing so. They have been a force for good on these forums and they deserve to be allowed to say goodbye.
It's childish to expect anything less from them. -
I'm Cobra Man, but my main 50 is Firestreak - mad, suicidal, extreme Fire/Fire Blaster.
I've been here for 39 months. I have 16 (non PL'd) level 50 Heroes and no level 50 villains.
I love this game, but I'm .... undecided on staying or leaving.
That's the best I can say right now.
