What better way for Cryptic to switch us over to the unofficial CoH 2.0 of Champions Online than by breaking the first version?
[/ QUOTE ]
Flawed logic, Cryptic have nothing to do with this game anymore, it's all NC Soft and Paragon Studios now.
Still, Issue 15 looks naff, I'm seriously depressed now

I'd love it if things I no longer have anything to do with still have my logo on them as branded advertising. Free publicity! -
Well by that time the MA should be corrected, the I15 non-event will be finally implemented, and whatever should have been in I16 will be in to make it the best Issue in the world... ever!
Right?

Sorry, you calling me or the devs lazy?
Because that description dosent actually tell you anything.
Edit, ah i see, its a rehash all slung into one then.

Yeah, the Devs
I was actually typing "Can you spell rehash?", but figured lazy would be a better word for the /facepalm I was feeling at the time. -
"From 11am EDT on April 28th to 12am EDT on April 29th, get ready to re-experience some of the things that have made City of Heroes® the great game that it is over the past five years! The festivities will be more fun than you can shake a stick at, and will include plenty of opportunities to earn merits, badges and XP."

Comparing the 'fun' emotes and costume extras in a Booster pack to... the 'fun' emotes and costume extras in this Issue update.
One I pay an extra handful of squiddly-diddlies for, the other comes as part of my monthly subscription, hence why the I15 ones are sort-of free.
Still not a great update, though. -

Looks... like an OK Issue, then.
Adding an SF/TF is never a bad thing. New things to play with in the character creation/editing is always welcome. But beyond that... well let's best not complain too much, really?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure anyone's complaining as such, and individually each item's fine, but in terms of quantity I can't describe that list as anything other than small. Even the individual items in there (5 mission TF/SFs) are on the decidedly Tom Cruise side of things...
[/ QUOTE ]
Posi himself said they'd be "fun" things.
I think more costume change emotes, couple more costume sets and a TF is their definition of "fun" - i.e. something quick and throwaway that you can look at an say "oh, that's neat to randomly get for free" and nothing more. -

Happy Update:
"We can't switch the version of the code you purchased. The US serial code purchase has been refunded. <snip>
You can now purchase the correct EU version."

The reason we don't have this is because of the existence of internet cafes, and because players are stupid.

Right, when do we start?

"I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?"
(From: bash.org) -
I've done exactly the same thing, and support were very helpful and extremely quick in getting back to me to begin with, but have spent two days telling me precisely nothing.
I blame it on the master NCSoft account auto-directing me to the US version. After finding the EU version on the NCSoft store myself, I note it says "There's a US Version too!" but on the US store... nothing similar.
I've asked them if they can transfer what I've given them between their US and EU companies but nothing yet and I'm not particularly hopeful. It'll just be like losing a fiver in the back pocket of my jeans in the wash.
Irritating, but I'll hardly miss it. -
That would mean making CoH as user-friendly for character switching as every other MMO in the world.
Like that's gonna happenbut still /signed.

That's the problem exactly! When "the novelty wears off"?
...because until then, it's way too hard to get a team that does decent missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe it's wearing off already, as I managed to get a random invite to a team for Manticore's TF - which was nice. Now for Numina and Imperious! -
Union or Defiant?
Black Tie or Masked Costume/Fancy Dress?
Starblayde would be a mover and shaker in that sort of circle, I imagine, though it does beg the question (does it?) - if everyone wore masks, in the Austrian Empire Grand Ball/Waltz style, wouldn't that make the traditional-looking superheroes/villains with alter-egos instantly recognisable as the hero/villain the really are?
Bruce Wayne going to a masked ball that only shows you the lantern jaw and his eyes would, well, look just like Batman
Suspend that disbelief.... suspend iiiiit! *shakes fist* -
Certain badges make sense to be global, as it's the user's accolade rather than the toon. Veteran, expansion pack owner, creative genius, uber cool mission architect, forum poster, etc.
But for killing X enemies, exploring X locations, those should remain with the toon that earned them. Otherwise Outbreak and Breakout will see spawns of Rikti killers the like of which the world as never seen, and make the starting missions be completely irrelevant to the toon being played, who will have conquered worlds. -
/signed.
Though the annoyance of rezzing at a hospital then an NPC nurse saying 'You could have just used a wakie that I sell (that you didn't have) instead of doing this!' would incite violence against hospital workers, which is never a good thing. -
Depends on the costume change emotes, as the magicalness isnt quite my thing. The first pic's suit and cloaky thing is fair cool, though.
I'll probably just stick to typing /cc X, bashing Build Up and then hitting enter a couple of times. Either that or figure a macro out. -
Hey, I never said change it!
Amatheon, too, does look like his right arm is holding all his weight, until you spot that a) he's not holding anything and b) that he's grounded - in that we can see he's kneeling on/clambering up that rock. So, his super-straight arm reaching up is to show off/reach for the flaming thing, depending on how you see it. Which is what it boils down to, after all.
But I'm just being picky and, hopefully, constructive for the future -
I'm definitely trying to choose between "I've just <insert lifelong ambition here> and this mace is my victory!", and "I've just fallen off a mountain and this mace suspended in mid air is the only thing that's stopping me from falling."
The extension on the right arm suggests, imho, that it's holding all his weight, so he's either flying with it or hanging on for dear life - exacerbated by the exact 90 degree angle of the mace itself.
The background is cool, as is the energy around the figure - the figure too is awesome.
If that was my toon, I'd absolutely love it. As it's not, and I get to play Simon Cowell without having to look you in the eye, I'll just say watch your weighting and you'll get fantastic images. -
I knew that stoats had been secretly evolving USB connectivity while we weren't looking.
I blame the cats - they look like they're planning something. I bet it involves weasels and ferrets, too. -
