Quote:ya, youre gonna be just fine herebut, but, but, it's the threadjacks that make it so much fun!!!
Hey, at least it's not WoW (which I just jumped ship from), where I would already have been called a noob, told to die, and otherwise screamed at in 4chan dialect by a poop-eating Morlock that hasn't seen the sun in years . . .
but I digress.
Thanks for all the welcoming, and see y'all in game! -
Hi There!

If you have any more questions about Champion or C.A.P.E feel free to shoot me a tell or add me as global @Cherry Cupcakes.
See you in the PvP basic training! -

Its not a matter of a blacklist. Youre far too skilled of a pvper for this event and there wasnt any team mentor spots left. We figured rolling a new toon, playing it up the normal way with no pwr lvling and teaching others your spectacular pvp skills was beneath you.
-
Quote:If that's true then you should be aware NC may pull support for the event. I see there are only gold tittles requested so not much of a loss. It's just something to be aware of if CAPE didn't already know.
I am doing boot camp 2 on victory so I won't have time to join this but if I can help in any way without the full commitment of lvl'ing a toon let me know.
Everyone is aware and in agreement. The list was very short and are known as problematic . This is 1 of those cases where 1 or 2 bad apples will NOT spoil and ruin it for the rest. It wasnt so much of a blacklist but more of concern that certain people would join to do this for all the wrong reasons.
Thanks for the offer.. Masque has been on some discussions and has been super helpful despite doing the boot camp2 as well. Should be a lot of fun. Im pretty stoked to learn some solid pvp stuff. -
I also wanted to make sure it was clear on a couple of points..
The approach here is 1 of a "crawl,walk,run"..
A lot of people, myself included, have been eager for decent pvp on champion. I have characters that are io'd out and accoladed, Ive done 1 formal league with champion and try to make the kickballs. When I was part of the formal league we had, despite it being a total disaster outside of my team, Those of us that were new did learn some things. BUt im still left with characters that in all actuality i really have no real clue how to use them (outside of pve). And im ok admitting that.
The decision was made to foster pvp along on this server and not continue the same decisions of just throwing a league out there for players to join, no matter the skill lvl. People wont learn the basics like that. Its also frustrating for the vet pvpers to basically be stuck in a mentor position when they really just wanted to come and pvp. While that kind of league and pvp is totally great, it still misses 80% of the player base that wants to learn pvp and not just have frustrated team capts shout things on vent they just dont understand. Then what happens is the player gets frustrated, loses interest in pvp and then only see's the negative crap that goes on and ends up wanting absolutely nothing to do with pvp.
This basic traning leagues purpose is start by a crawl, move into a walk by having pvp matches a long the way, learning more basics as we level up, and end with a run by having lvl 50 matches and then moving onto an actual PvP League filled with lvl 50 players on toons they have a good understanding of and how pvp is actually fun and competitive for us all, and not just the select few people. All done in a way thats hopefully fun.
C.A.P.E, at the end of the Basic Training period, will then come back together and form up an official "Champion PvP League".
Id also like to say that this isnt just for noobie pvpers... Its for anyone of any skill lvl to come out, enjoy some teaming, doing some low/mid/high lvl pvp, earn some monies and prizes a long the way, and just have fun. Ultimately thats really what gaming comes down to.
tl;dr version ; Lets learn some pvp, wreck faces, and have some fun. -
Quote:I noticed in your list of characters you had some low lvl 1's. While i understand lvling a new toon is a bit of a frustration, you could always re-roll 1 of your lower 1s and perhaps get some additional benefit from teaming and learning with some really great, super fun people. Just a thoughtWell I don't have any open slots for this league so I guess I am out. Good luck to you all and have fun.

The much anticipated c.a.p.e. basic training league is finally here! The purpose of this event is to provide every player with a learning environment in order to better their pvp skills while having fun.
*event is open to all lvl's of pvp exp*
Eligibility
Ø You must have an open character slot and be willing to create a new character, specifically for PVP, in order to participate. Team Leaders and Mentors will be able to help you determine what character to choose from, depending on your play styles: Offense, Support, or Disruption.
o if you want to play a villain Archetype or an ancillary power set you must discuss it with your team leaders (adjustments will be made to suit you; time permitting)
Ø Players that are competing in the event CANNOT miss more than 2 weeks unannounced without a chance of being dropped from that teams roster. This is to ensure stability among competing teams.
Ø This event is designed for new players who are willing to gradually learn PvP throughout the 6 weeks of camp.
o If you are a little more experienced in PvP and want to join the camp, then you can join the event. However, if you are interested in being a mentor please do not hesitate to sign up!
Ø Sportsmanship will be key for individuals wanting to participate. For newcomers it is crucial that their PVP experience is fun and entertaining. So it is up to every individual member to keep a high moral attitude throughout this event. Poor sportsmanship will only deter and neglect accomplishing our goal. We understand that not everyone approves of every one, so bring it upon yourselves to /ignore a participant if needed. If things get out of hand, then the team captains will determine if the participant should be pulled from the league.
Format of Event
Ø Matches will be on : Sunday nights @9:00est
Ø After we have received enough sign ups, our Participants will be balanced onto teams with 2 Mentors and 1 Captain per team. Our goal is to get 6 complete teams if possible. That equates to 6 captains, 12 mentors, and 30 new players. Obviously the size of the league is dependent on how much interest is shown. We will be leveling and earning our accolades our characters as we progress through the event, like a static team.
Ø ONCE THE TEAMS ARE BALANCED, YOURE CAPTAIN AND MENTORS WILL DISCUSS YOUR STRENGTHS AND INTERESTS FOR WHAT TYPE OF ROLE YOU WANT TO PLAY. IN ORDER TO KEEP YOUR TEAM TOGETHER TO OBTAIN LEVELS AND ACCOLADES, YOUR CAPTAIN WILL DETERMINE WHICH SIDE (villains, PRAETORIA, HEROES) BEST FITS YOUR TEAMS needs.
Ø The season will last for only 6 matches (Note: we may be taking breaks for Holidays.). The matches will occur at different levels throughout your training until the last match for which you will be level 50. Matches will occur at these levels: 5, 15, 25, 35, 45, and 50. (no exceptions)
o If necessary turn off your experience under options, if you are above level your are not allowed to compete in the match
Ø once this league has reached its end it will be followed up by a lvl50 league for graduates & new signups
PrizesWeekly prizes will be awarded by your Team Captains, what the prizes are may vary from team to team, but each captain is provided with a budget for the entire 6 weeks.
In addition, prizes will be awarded at the end of the event as follows.
(!! Note: there are chances for gold titles !!)Individual awards
1. Most Improved Full set of 6 Apocalypses
Ø This will be voted on by the Mentors, they will all nominate a member on their team. Then all the Mentors will come together and vote on the most improved recruit.
2. Most Dedicated Gladiators Javelin: Chance for Toxic Damage
Ø This will be determined by Team Captains. They will tally up how many events recruits have participated in, and how often they joined us in ventrilo.
3. Most Honorable 2 Microfilament Exposures
Ø This will be voted on by YOU! The recruits will vote on the Guild Portal CAPE site and nominate who they think on their team was the best team player. Then there will be another vote to decide what nominee will be awarded this prize.
Team awards
1. The team with the highest record will be awarded 800 million (100m/player)
2. The team with the second highest record will be awarded 400 million (50m/player)

C.A.P.E is in the initial stages of forming a more player friendly version of a PvP league. For those Interested in helping to shape this league, there will be a vent discussion on Thursday, March 17th @ 7 pacific 10 eastern. You must be a member of C.A.P.E to attend the meeting. To join please head to www.championcape.com.
The goals of this league will be a mixture of all lvls of pvp'er. From the new to the more veteran pvp'ers who wish to help mentor and foster those of us along who are willing to learn in a fun, no pressure, kind of atmosphere. We hope to have core teams with people also seclected from a draft. We're also currently kicking around a "round robin" style of matches. Like I said, this in the initial stages.
We hope by Involving others to the discussions, together we can all come up with something that would be fun and yet competitive for us all. Hopefully by the end of the meeting we can put something on paper and get the PvP ball rollin'!
Peace. -
