I generally avoid these invasion events now because of the lag it causes, the spammy AoE nature that has been discussed, and they just aren't interesting to me anymore. Whatever tech they said they implemented reduce lag for these kind events frankly I haven't seen it make a difference.

Corruptor because of scourge damage with Blizzard.

Quote:Which is really all I hope for honestly. That I notice no changes performance-wise, would be fine. I now can see why anyone who bought SBE's is upset though now having a better understanding of what changes are coming (under the current proposed changes).I personally thought it was... weird (to put it nicely) that they even put the PPM system in place. Procs were well established, and other than well known procs that didn't work or work well, the system was fine. It seems like a lot of dev time is now being wasted on this system that could have been put elsewhere if they hadn't tried to add a new (and unneeded) system.
I'm okay with the changes if it still allows for people to build and benefit from slotting for recharge and procs in a power. Frankly, I doubt most people are going to even notice a huge change with this, unless they were leveraging issues with how SBE procs were working.
All the same, I didn't and don't see the need for the new system. -
I haven't bought any SBE's and I'm on the fence about the proposed PPM changes because I'm sure they are still up for revision and I don't understand the PPM arithmetics involved just quite yet. I wouldn't buy anything in the game that I couldn't earn while playing.

Quote:Ok, thanks. I think a lot of people are going to be confused (I know I am still a little) when these changes (if they stay the way they are) go into effect. It wouldl be nice to some kind of preview in the enhancement UI when you go slot proc's in a slot, to see the values/rate at which they fire before you slot them.The minimum proc floor will be something like 5% +1.2% per PPM. However, like I said very few powers will actually hit that. Also...
Regarding Slash and Focus:
Slash with Hecatomb:
Base Recharge: 4.8
Area Factor: 1
IO Proc Chance: 33%
Attuned PPMs: 4.5 (46%)
New PPMs: 5.625
@0% Recharge: 57.5%
@33% Recharge: 46.3%
@66% Recharge: 36.6%
@100% Recharge: 35%
Focus with Apocalypse:
Base Recharge: 6.4
Area Factor: 1
IO Proc Chance: 33%
Attuned PPMs: 4.5 (56.8%)
@0% Recharge: 71%
@33% Recharge: 56.1%
@66% Recharge: 47.1%
@100% Recharge: 41%
So, you're going to see an increase in performance against the current IO version of Hecatomb and Apocalypse in this particular instance. There are quite a few instances where your powers will have a greater chance to proc than they currently do with IOs. So, some people are calling this a "nerf" but in actuality there's also a good amount of buffing going on here too.

I still don't get any of this, I'm looking at the wiki... how do I figure this out?
-
I need to see what this does to my Claws/SR Scrapper...
What would this do to the Hecatomb proc in Slash?
What would this do to the Apocalypse proc in Focus? -
-
Question: Does this at all change how the Interface incarnate ability will work too?
-
Would I honestly be playing a Stalker if not for that ATO proc..............(sheepishly) maybe not, sorry. I'd understand if they wanted to nerf that IO, and only that IO, but somehow I feel like they're going with a nuclear option.

Purples proc's triggering at the same rate as an Rare? No, please.

Quote:My stalker does stupid crazy damage, I knew it would not last. But these changes cover many of my toons, if not all of them, regardless of archetype. This I do not want.I built a 330+ dps Elec/EA stalker, and I have no issue with these changes.
Please people, everyone knew the PPM mechanic as implimented was stupid overpowered and anyone denying that either couldn't do math or is insincere.
They did say they are upping the PPM rate in light of the changes, and I have no issue whatsoever with a 70-90% chance to crit on my follow up attacks from AS. -
Quote:Gambler's Cut.Given that extremely few powers have less than 1s activation time and 2-3s base recharge times, that suggests they were trying to break even at a minimum on the vast majority of powers.
...I have to hold off leveling my Katana/Regen now, at least until I get clarity on how these PPM changes would affect it. -
Wow. Design-wise this makes no sense, you're punishing builds that use fast recharging attacks or anything that that benefits from +Recharge. This affects Super Reflexes and Energy Aura builds. Speed Boost, Chrono Shift, and Ageless Destiny hurt more than they help.
I do not approve. -

Quote:This.Let me answer your question with a question.
-Why- would I want to PvP in city of heroes?
I hate to sound materialistic, but if you want to grow PvP in this game you have to incentivise it to attract players. The current awards you can get in PvP zones (that you can get without facing another player, BTW) are outdated. Warburg Nukes, Heavy Temporary Pets, and Shivan Shards aren't quite as useful or desired now that we have incarnate powers and that they can't be used in iTrials. -
It's a fair point honestly. The arena is mostly dead in my expereince. It's just sad when you have to pass by one en route to Dark Astoria or The First Ward. I pass by abandoned businesses and closed buildings on my way to work IRL, I shouldn't in an MMO. I think almost anything other than what we currently have, would be an imrovement and would be better than nothing.
-
Mechanically PvP needs a lot of work. It's a list that's a mile long. I'm sure most of us do not have the slightest clue how to balance the archetypes and PvP mechanics when we barely understand them as there are now. I think that are a few things that they can do in the short-term (this year?) that they can change to improve the arena and hopefully get some support for PvP.
-
Answer:
A) The arena is unusable, I crash every time trying to use it.
B) Waiting for 8 people to fill an arena match never happens.
C) I'm usually outclassed by someone with PvP IO's and damage procs.
D) Stalkers are still broken and unfun to fight against.
E) Travel Supression.
F) PvP IO drop rates.
G) All of the above.
The investment in order to be marginally sucessful in PvP, outweighs what I get out of it, and I have tried multiple times, different builds, but in the end there's just no balance. -

We're they talking about Tupac? Because he seems to keep coming back for another performance.
