Quote:This. Especially since they can't. It is (or was, according to a recent Ghost Falcon post already quoted up thread) an issue with NCSoft billing, and the Paragon Studios team has zero access to that system.I'd much rather the devs work on other things than adjust what day of the month I get my various rewards.
No matter of complaining or blaming Paragon Studios is going to change the fact that they are completely unable to do anything with the system that is run by their parent company, and a petition to the GMs--NCSoft employees, not Paragon Studios employees--is the only way to get it fixed. -
Quote:Actually, not to double post, but I wanted to give a little more info on your board; I googled the specs and found that it DOES support PCIe 2.0, but only in the black card slot, not the blue one.Given your processor, I'm assuming your motherboard uses PCIe 1.0 graphics slot--it doesn't support the full bus speed of your graphics card, so your card has to slow down its speed to match that of your system.
So if the card's in the blue slot, move it down to the black slot and you should hopefully see a performance increase. -
For starters, I know you mentioned that you're on the drivers the manufacturer packed in with the card, but those almost always suck. Ask around and see which recent version of the drivers people find to be the most stable and install those as soon as is convenient--I can't help with that, unfortunately, as I'm using an ATI card. Also, use something like Driver Sweeper to get rid of the existing driver installation before installing the new drivers.
Given your processor, I'm assuming your motherboard uses PCIe 1.0 graphics slot--it doesn't support the full bus speed of your graphics card, so your card has to slow down its speed to match that of your system. It's like a world class sprinter tied to a normal high school gym student for a three-legged race. (Your system isn't so bad off that I'd say it's tied to a fat asthmatic, though.)
Your hard drive is very, VERY full. This can negatively impact the rate at which the game loads and can impact your frame rate as you move around and your system has to load new objects. Personally, I put multiple hard drives in my computers... one small-ish one for the operating system, one mid-size one for games and applications, and one large one for storage... but that may be a bit more advanced than you're looking to go at the moment. Just clearing some space off the hard drive--try to get it down under 50% full--should give you a noticeable improvement in load times if nothing else. (And for the love of Pete, remember to defrag the hard drive.) -
Just a personal update: I'm working crazy hours the next few days, and while I'm technically available at 6:15 on Tuesday, I may be too tired (or possibly cranky) to be reliable as a teammate.
If I'm not on by 6:15, give my spot away with no hard feelings on my part.
I'm scheduled to work until after 1:00AM on Monday night/Tuesday morning, then work 10 to 5 Tuesday... Not sure if manager flaked out or is pissed at me... -_- -
Quote:Well, we already knew Beast Mastery wasn't from War Witch's producer letter a couple days ago.Just read on 'Facebook Friday' that Staff-Fighting and Beast Mastery are not launching with issue 22.
... But now we know that not only is Staff Fighting not launching alongside i22, but it's also not going to be out in March. -
Since Death From Below was added in Issue 21, you can level entirely from 1-50 using only trials and TFs, yes. (Prior to i21, you had to get to at least level 10 before you could do any trials or TFs blueside, or 15 redside.)
The only real problem is that you're pretty certain to be repeating content quite a bit... how many Synapse TFs do you think you can stomach in between 15 and 20? -
-
Doubtful.
I know the purchasable Double XP temp powers that they just started testing on the beta server this week specifically say they do NOT double Incarnate XP...
-
I'd like to tenatively sign up... I still don't know if I'm working that night. :/
-
Then you shouldn't have a problem. It was active on both March 1st and March 2nd.
Can't wait to see what the mods do to this thread title, by the way. >_> -
Quote:Sounds like you picked the wrong console if you're a single non-parent looking for a steady stream of games that would interest adults. Nintendo's gaming systems have been called "family consoles" since the original Playstation was released. Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii... but I haven't even turned it on since beating Skyward Sword, and prior to that, New Super Mario Bros (when it first launched in 2009).Sorry just having fun at my expense...I think I'm "done" with consoles...no friends to play games with locally (my friends are all married and/or have kids in addition to that...or just don't play games like I do) and usually don't care for multiplayer online..."party games" is what is left of the Wii it seems...
As for not liking "multiplayer," I generally don't like competitive multiplayer games either, but I have a great time playing co-op games on Xbox Live with my friends. I certainly don't want to jump on a Halo deathmatch with a bunch of trash-talking preteens, either. -

Quote:For me, it depends on whether or not I'm working on Tuesday. (I work part time at GameStop currently.)Oh there's no way it can compete against ME3. I will say I'll be playing CoH that day, however.
If I AM working, I won't be able to resist the hype in the crowds; I'm picking up ME3 and CoH will subsequently be ignored for the next 5-10 days depending on how long it takes me to play it.
If I'm NOT working, then I'll likely play CoH until Friday and start ME3 then.

Other people say that releasing i22 on the "big March release date" was a good idea. I say it's a bad idea--CoH is (largely) a subscription-based product. Releasing i22 this week would have gotten floaters to renew their subs NOW, even if they're intending to primarily play one of March's other big releases during the month.
I sincerely don't think that anyone who actually has to choose between a new release and resubscribing for Issue 22 is going to pick the latter. (Thankfully, I have a yearly sub, so I don't have to choose.)

Quote:My youngest sister believes them, though. Especially the bit about the "Ancient Aliens" coming back to abduct all of humanity on Dec 21, 2012.Seriously, this meme hits 4chan all the time, and for good reason. Those shows are ridiculous. RIDICULOUS.
However, she also believes that you catch a cold by going outside when it's cold, while somehow simultaneously understanding that colds are caused by virii which don't like the cold...

Oh, and, uh, gratz to Melissa on what sounds to be a promotion, and to Nate on heading up the new sooper sekrit prahject. -
It can be, but they were really two separate phrases that perhaps meshed together improperly due to my wording. I was really trying to say that GG was being sexist herself by jumping the gun and screaming sexism.
Whether she was proven right or not after making that claim is irrelevant, because she automatically assumed the worst when NDA stated his preferences. 9_9 -
It literally was.
When the game was still in development, Jack made some comments about how he didn't see a point for heroes to be fighting other heroes. If you were here prior to Cryptic Studios (the original developers) splitting off and selling the game to NCSoft (originally just the publisher), you'll recall that Jack had a "vision" for the game and vetoed damn near everything that came up outside of that vision.
He eventually acquiesced to adding PVP--in arenas--a full year after the game launched in Issue 4. But since the game wasn't developed with PVP in mind, it had a lot of problems that were basically ignored for the next few years.
Inventions came out in Issue 9 and made a definite performance difference between the haves and the have-nots; I really feel that this was the point when PVP became truly unfriendly to new players and created a solidified PVP community (which was good) that was difficult to break into (which was bad).
Castle tried to fix PVP in Issue 13. I respect what he attempted, and actually agree that almost every change he made resulted in a more balanced experience on paper... but he cranked the dial on everything he changed to 11 when a 3 or 4 would have sufficed. Throw some unfriendly dialog in from both sides, and the resulting fiasco drove a wedge between the PVP community (or what was left of it after i13 hit beta--many didn't even stay for it to be released) and the developers; the wedge remains there to this day. Aside from a few bug fixes when new powers misbehave according to the i13 PVP rules, PVP has remained largely unchanged ever since.
But perhaps I've given too much of a history lesson before making my point... Ultimately, I don't think anything "killed" PVP in City of Heroes; I think it was just stillborn as a result of being "tacked on" after the fact. -
Quote:Yeah, but the dude who ISN'T +1 is on a crappy build that I still haven't respecced since Inherent Fitness came to pass over a year ago.WHAT. You play fairly often; I'd get everything up to +1 at least on alpha. :0
And sure, I play fairly often... but it's almost always on Chad or Evil G, which is why I only have 5 level 50s. >_>;

He said he didn't HAVE to do any more. He didn't say he wouldn't. -

Quote:No, those are NOT Council War Wolves. Those are werewolves created using pieces from the Animal costume bundle. The CoT (or at least, the only one I can find in the bottom left) is using only pieces available in the CoT costume bundle and none of the NPC-only parts. And the "War Works" you mention are NOT War Works--they're Praetorian Clockwork using parts that you must either be a VIP, own a Going Rogue serial number or purchase in the Paragon Market to utilize.Actually, there were some Council War Wolves present too, together with a few in CoT outfits and War Works. So to say only good guys were there is incorrect.
Quote:Yes, i understand that all those outfits could be recreated by players, however, this was a non live event.
It's basically a subtle advertisement to new Free/Premium players hiding behind the overt image of the funeral procession.

I'm a first-time uncle with a brand new leap-nephew! I'd like to post pics, but since it's not my kid, I figure I'll respect my family's privacy.
Anyway, I just wanted to say it, because I think it's kinda cool.
