Quote:I know what you mean... He could certainly have been given a little more coaching by the dev team that he ran with on things like power usage (especially toggles) and the option to invert his camera and what-not.Ugh. The guy playing did us no justice in that vid. Ask for someone who has played the game before next time.
But he reviews F2P MMOs for a living, yet ran around for half the video saying he was "having trouble with the controls." It's W,A,S,D + mouse to look around, just like every other MMO out there, dude. -

Quote:I said I agreed with your post, not your position. It's true we've been on the same side of an argument many times in the past... but surely you know that the way you post often does more harm to your position than good. Calling people "Paragon Studios' bum kissers" for disagreeing with you lowers your argument to ignorable at best. You have agreed with my positions many more times than not.
In the overall argument of this thread (and other Staff Fighting threads), I'm pretty neutral about the delay and just trying to keep the facts straight when people say things like, "We were promised that it would release alongside i22!" (no, we weren't; they said back in January that it would be coming out sometime after the issue launched) or, "Staff Fighting won't be out until i23!" (also not true; Z said in this very thread it's coming out during the month of April). -

Quote:Yep. Once upon a time, that's how one would manage their account and/or buy Super Boosters before there was even an inkling that we'd have an in-game store. Is that the "old" name for the site, still being used by people who've been around the game for a while? I've only been around a bit longer than six months.
Then, until about 2 months ago (give or take), it automatically redirected to http://us.ncsoft.com/en/ ... but since then, it just takes you to the Korean page (since NCSoft is based in Korea and all). -
*/Kin Controllers, apparently. Two of my pathetic stable of five 50s are */Kin Controllers, and I mained an Elec/Kin Controller through the Going Rogue beta.
Favorite power set of all time is Street Justice, but I only have one dude using it on my home server, with a couple more untouched StJ characters on Exalted. -

Quote:Thought about it last night, but we don't know exactly what the powers themselves are called... just the names of the trees.Stupid question, has anyone tried entering the Hybrid powers visible in the stream chat into the current client [as brackets] to see if anything is in the files yet?
Anyway, beta will be open to VIPs within the week (presumably before close of business tomorrow), so we don't have that long to wait for the info. -
Quote:He used the power of Tartarus (aka Lord Recluse's power, which Praetorian Cole gained by killing Richter shortly after they gained their powers) to cause an explosion. As someone else put it, it's basically "Tartarus Judgement."It is implied more heavily that Tyrant dropped a nuke on you (could've been something else), but as far as killing off everyone it is a far stretch.
It wouldn't be an actual nuke. If you'll remember, in Praetoria, McArthur dropped a LOT of nukes post WWII, and stopping those is one of the reasons Cole came to power to begin with. -
-
Correct. That's the first real incursion of the Praetorians, taking place before the 40-50 arcs from Maria Jenkins and crew. Then, at 50, the main invasion begins with the Apex TF and is halted in the Tin Mage TF. The story then carries over to our counterstrike in the Incarnate Trials.

Night_Watcher spoke hastily and ignorantly. The 1-20 Praetoria content isn't going anywhere, per Zwillinger earlier in the thread.

I may have misrepresented the amount of damage in my post. But my overall message wasn't the amount of damage, it was the type of damage--specifically that the damage was NOT nuclear in nature, and the person whose post I was referencing shouldn't need to worry about RPing a nuclear fallout survivor.
-
I use Preemptive because energy damage fits the character better than fire damage, it's comparable in DoT to Reactive, and fewer people take it and therefore it's less likely to stack beyond the max number of applications on teams.

Quote:Read their background stories sometime.I also have to wonder about praetorian Infernal (who shouldn't exist anyway because Infernal is already from another dimension).
Regular Infernal: From a magical dimension populated with demons, able to bind demons to his will, crossed dimensions to Primal Earth while searching for a friend who'd given in the temptation of binding too many demons.
Praetorian Infernal: From a magical dimension populated with demons, able to bind demons to his will, crossed dimensions to Praetoria while escaping persecution for binding too many demons.
It's strongly implied that the two Infernals know each other, and that the Praetorian one is who the Primal one is searching for. -
Actually destroyed or just killed?
Apparently, he's one of the main baddies you face in the new Night Ward zone in i23. The zone is supposedly tucked in between the realms of the living and the dead. Maybe he really WAS killed and simply refuses to cross over?
Quote:New Zone: Night Ward
A Realm of Magic: Dark forces hide in Night Ward, threatening to destroy the world. Night Ward is a Level 30-35 co-op zone where characters encounter strange magical allies and foes. This Praetorian zone is connected to First Ward, and is a realm trapped between the land of the living and the world of the dead.
New Mystical and Undead Enemies: Encounter the creatures of Night Ward: the Animus Arcana, sentient spells that crave power; Drudges, who seek to guide souls (living and dead) to the realm of the dead; and the Black Knights, who run the eternal prison that is the Night Ward. The powerful Arch-Villain Shadowhunter also prowls this realm with his deadly army of beasts. -
Who says he survived? He's apparently one of the main foes faced in the new Night Ward zone, which exists between the realm of the living and that of the dead according to the overview. He may well have died and just refuses to cross over.

I'd like to point out that the term "nuked" isn't being used literally. Nobody dropped an atom bomb on the area. Cole had a a Well-powered tantrum explosion that leveled the center of Nova Praetoria, sure, but that doesn't mean there's going to be any sort of radiation or fallout.
