i know _castle_ said it couldn't be done, but i still think it's a great idea. someone should get asigned to making this one happen.... it's just silly fun to be had here.

He didn't say it couldn't be done, he just said it can not be done as of right now (with the problems of I-7, and I-8 underway with the retail expansion in the works, there is hardly any time). Who knows, we may get it eventually, here is to hoping. -

All of that said, it *could* be done, but I doubt we have the free time in the schedule anytime soon, and even at that it would be fairly low priority. My guess is you'll see it around the same time as the Giant Tape Worm.

I'm so sad to hear that. I mean, comeon, playing sports with superpowers? The movement powers would probably be the most interesting for a sport, but certain other powers could be very interesting depending on the sport. Try to tackle an eluding SR scrapper in football :P

In spite of the small "confirmation" of the ball not possible to be done. Like anything thats wanted, if people press on with continued support for the Big Red Ball, we'll eventually see it happen. Look where it got us for a "party zone" that heroes and villians alike can meet up together, the elusive Isolator badge for those who were unable to go grab it before cause they were pre I-2 toons. I'm just saying, if you want the Big Red Ball, continue supporting the Big Red Ball. Eventually they will have free time here and there to work on such a feature's mechanics, and ultimately, come true. -
I approove of this big red ball of awesome.

High Pain Treshold I was told gives a bonus to max hp, not sure how to get it though and I had not even heard of Megalomaniac.

Megalomaniac is the villain version of Vanguard.

Beyond that, we are looking to release another Issue building up the story towards our next retail box, due in 2007. This will include going back and revamping some of the zones from City of Heroes, using everything we've learned from making City of Villains and Issue 7, plus a bunch of other cool stuff including new powersets and an epic archetype. Of course for the retail box we will be creating all-new zones and content based on the results of the forum poll we posted last month. The retail box will be an expansion to both City of Heroes and City of Villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
One question, will the next retail box be an Stand-a-lone Expansion or an Expansion pack that one has to have either City of Heroes or City of Villains to use, or has that been determined as of yet?
[/ QUOTE ]
It will NOT be a stand alone.

a boxed expansion?..
for CoX?
joy..
thats sarcasem by the way..
what a sell out,
one of the MAIN reasons i like NCsoft and CoX is that you DON'T charge for expansions.
you can try and say an issue isnt an expansion and they are different ect, but its not fooling anyone.
with the exception of guildwars, which doesnt have a sub fee, i was under the impression that NCsoft was an either/or stance regarding "pay for" expansions.
either you pay for a sub OR you pay for expansions, not both.
so much for you guys being "better" than SoE.

Comparing Cryptic to SoE? WHat else did they do, kill a kitten... Uh, litter?
Seriously, in >MY< view of the retail box expansion/issue/ets, I see it as a good business move. Not only does it act upon as an Issue, but usually compared to usual large patches (Issues in CoH/V and "Patches" in WoW), retail expansions tend to hold alot of substance toward the game (as well as get some more exposure to the retail community that hasn't been pulled much into the game with just CoH and CoV on the shelf). Some people don't hop into MMOs that they're interested in right of fthe bat, some don't even wanna bother digging deep into the itnernet for imformation about the game and it's free expansions. Some will actually just read a retail expansion's box back and find out whats been added, what the expansion will add and so forth, and eventually have some content that will catch the eye of the gamer and ultimately get him hooked.
Although I personally would prefer just free expansions, this, in a business perspective, is a good move.
PS: At least they have the dignity to give us tons of free content that several other MMOs refused to do. -
This has been a big disscussion anywhere you go that has involved CoH and its badges. And I, personally, would like to see something happen for the Isolator badge being awarded somehow to pre-I-2 heroes. I made my main and got her up to level 32 before I even found out about the Isolator badge (no one spoke of it, I saw it beingtoted around on another hero).
Now, the Isolator one was, and still is "The White Whale" of alot of badge collectors out there. Unlike the holiday badges that I missed (which I said, "Damn, I wish I was here" and went on my merry way), I actually feel shortened a badge in a cheap way. I mean, I completed Tutorial, and Hell, even ran around getting used to controls and thinking I was gunna level by killing countless Contaminated.
Now, I would LOVE to see Isolator come about in means of being awarded for those with a pre-I-2 toon that finished the Tutorial like previously suggested, but if it ain't gunna happen there isn't much I can do past that in achieving the badge. -
I got one question: Whene are we getting their cotume options along with Legacy's helmets? I have been emoting stripping and stealing them multiple times before and yet I still didn't see them in my wardrobe.
