I was starting to think something like that too, Obs.
The fact that multiple programs are causing a similar issue points to the OS, but when most of the cases are AV programs, I'm inclined to think there's some widespread copy-pasta action. -
I uninstalled AVG.
I installed Avast!
So far, no trouble.
I know this doesn't fix the issue for anyone else, but AVG seemed to be a definite meanie to COH, and it's been getting larger and larger for quite some time now. I had already considered switching to Avast! before this problem, so I'm happy with this solution for me. I'll attempt to troubleshoot with my friend who's experiencing the issue without an anti-virus program running currently. -
Okay, I disabled AVG's Resident Shield, and the problem stopped. After it worked for me, I decided to pass on the "fix" to a friend who is having the same issue . . . .
He doesn't have AVG (or any other AV program currently). -

Quote:Yeah, the only time it's been more than just a nuisance was one time last night. The game lost focus right when I clicked on a door. It couldn't make it to the loading screen, so I had to "x" it. That was just bad timing more than anything.I'll try disabling game mode when I get home from school. Catharctic, you said you're on Vista, right? While Vista and 7 are very similar, there are enough differences that what works for 7 users (if it does indeed work for all of us) may not work for you. We may have to continue hunting for you.
I'd like to figure it out, though. I'm trying to get back into the habit of not clicking powers for characters that don't have clicks. This bug isn't helping me break that habit. -
Unfortunately, it's still happening for me even with AVG Gaming Mode turned off. It's pointing to the OS again, imo.

I also have AVG.
I'm disabling the option right now. I'll let you know how it goes for me.
EDIT: Of course, there's a program update for AVG today, so it might be fixed. I'll play with it off for now. -
MA/Nin is an awesome Stalker combo. It's the first one I've leveled past 20 thus far. I'll probably make another Stalker after this because i'm having so much fun with the current one.

Mine's not fixed. Again, for me, it's a minor annoyance.
Also again, it's not just COH that is affected for me. It's really looking more like a Windows issue. Of course, I have the same nVidia drivers installed. -
Quote:Here's what's strange. I don't have Steam, but I did do something that has apparently fixed the problem. I'll restart later to see which service I stopped on Vista 64 to correct the issue. I should've written them down. I'm sub'd to this thread, so I'll report back once I've come to an assumption.Oh my, I wonder if we have a winner? I left that running, but turned off everything else you are mentioning... I need to try this again without Steam running.

Quote:Instead of double-clicking, right-click and "Run as Administrator".Still wish NCSoft would get the game "compatible" with Windows so that I don't have to keep telling the UAC that yes I trust this unknown program.
You could also just turn off UAC, but some people don't like to do that. -
Yeah, I just found out. Funny thing is, I rolled a BotZ: KB piece, but it's level 28, which was my character's level.
-
Unfortunately, I already had that option turned off.

I think it's a Windows patch. I just had it happen with my email application while nothing else was running. It's basically pulling the focus from the primary program for some strange reason. I hope MS can track it down to fix it soon. It's a minor annoyance for me, but I bet it's causing some issues for people with less robust systems than mine.

Gratz on getting them OP!
I have a question, though. Is it still possible to use Ouro to exemp for merit reward rolls? I'm considering doing this to get procs and global pieces at level 10. -
Quote:It should be account-based like vet badges. The whole point was to keep the account itself account, not necessarily a particular character. Is this badge going to be awarded to all current and future characters on the account like Veteran badges, or will they only be available for a limited time?
Also, thanks for the update, Niv! -
Thanks for all the help over the years, Leelow. I appreciate all the raids you helped with after I talked you into them. Thanks for keeping things fun.
You'll be missed, but I hope you drop by to see us on reactivation weekends and such. -
So the moral of the story is to get the level 10 versions of all of these whenever possible. That's a good rule of thumb.

If it were me, I would not be asking this question . . . ever . . . to anyone . . . ever.
Just sayin. -
