Plus, it would have the added advantage of heading off the people posting that the new rewards suck.

That would add stuff to make newbies want to sign on and keep their accounts active (because it's not an ETERNITY away), while also continuing to provide new perks for longtime players.
I think kviri has the right idea. [EDIT: Upon catching up, Arcanaville's Vet token system sounds even better.]

From a badging standpoint, if they were going to drop anything from the system, I'd like to see the badges go away. Find a different means of distributing the rewards so people aren't losing badge progress every time a new reward is announced (since a lot of people who badge haven't been here since the beginning).

On-Topic, the new rewards sound good.

    • 100 NPCs - 1 cape = 75% loss in frame rate
    • 100 NPCs - 3 capes = 92% loss in frame rate
So yes, there is a reason that we don't want players loading themselves down with multiple cape systems.
So is this one of the lag problems with the Imperious Task Force?

(Whoops! Jake_Summers beat me to it. Question still stands, though.)
  3. I need to get the extra salvage slots on a lot of characters, so I'm glad you're doing this.
  4. Most of our real PvPers use Freedom to PvP.

I think that's more of a marketing issue again. The commercials that were made would've been perfect for television and very endearing to Mac users, but they just got posted to some gaming sites. I think the numbers show that most people who use the Mac client were already playing the game anyway.

I agree with the ridiculous lack of marketing, too.

The economy . . . not so much. For every person I know who's cancelled an account, I can think of at least 1 person who's opened an additional account. Not to mention, $15 a month is about the cheapest entertainment option around besides pulling out your old board games. The economy can be a frequent scapegoat, but I don't think it's affected online gaming subscriptions as much as it has affected brick-and-mortar industries.
  8. TonyV,

Good job proving you have way too much time on your hands!

Seriously though, nice work with this. I like charts/graphs.

I will schedule a month worth of Hamidon raids if you give that to my Hami tank, graystar.

If you have a mission selected in your Nav, any portal would automatically take you to that mission’s zone.
Out of all the silliness, this one is actually a really good suggestion.

    Really, REALLY good suggestion.

I don't know about the active mission auto-zoning part, but it was great until then. The trains don't make sense in Paragon. They never have.

    The rest is just silly.

The drop rate has resulted in perfectly viable price ranges for a great many PvP IOs. The one IO that adds 3% defense to all is the anomaly-- and this speaks more about demand than supply. Demand is a byproduct of a skewed defense system in relation to IOs.
    Okay...so you want to nerfherd?

    Exactly!

Oh, I know you're hiding on the server somewhere. I conned you into playing my convoluted MArc when Issue 14 went live. I believe you logged off shaking your head.

  17. I don't remember there being any math in this thread. Why are you here?

    (Funny Vid )
  18. Vego got a lifetime sub to CO for like $60, so I think he spends his game time there.
  19. Watch part 4. It's immediately hilarious.
  20. If you're wondering if there's any crazy New Yorkers who play COH that might be a part of this, look no further than the guy with the most red rep on the forums. I believe he's planning to do it again this weekend. Here's last year's pic!
