What blows my mind is that Co* is a game about Superheroes and Supervillains pitted against each other, and there seems to be some contention that it should be only Player superheroes vs. Non-Player villains and vice versa.

This is a very well stated, but its a complete and total misrepresentation of the most common complaint about PvP, and you very well know it.
PvE players have nothing against PvP per se. What they have is the urge to avoid unpleasant dinks who exist only to cause other people as much aggravation as they can for their own amusement.
That's not PvP, that's sadism. And its also commonly defended here in the PvP zones. As you also well know.
So don't pretend that PvE'ers are a bunch of wusses who are over-sensitive. On the contrary, its us... the PvPers... who need to clean up our collective acts and start acting like human beings instead of a pack of rabid chimpanzees. -
I love PvP. I just think the majority of PvPers are malajusted, near-sociopaths who claim to PvP "for the challenge" but are actually there to cause another person as much aggravation as possible.

Also, breaking Godwin's Law=Critical Failure.

Godwin's Law: As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.
Are you sure Godwin's Law is the one you mean to reference here?

I think that he means the more common usage of Godwin's law, at least, the more common one that I have seen used, that states that as soon as Godwin's Law is true, the argument is automatically lost by the one who causes it to be true.

Ah. That's not Godwin's Law. That's argumentum ad Hitlerum. -

Did you know that recently, there was a Brute (On Victory or Freedom i thinks) that crashed while in Bloody Bay and was "Switched" to Hero Statis. He grouped with Heroes, got badges, and did TFs. Eventually, a GM took control of Ghost Widow and ordered the Brute to go to Atlas Park to be dealt with, lol.
I know there are pics, but they aren't mine, and idk where the thread is, lol.

Thats happened to quite a few people now, same with heros/villains spawning into the opposite factions mission.
Funny to see screenshots of a hero zone into his mission and theres a mastermind there.

I exited Pocket D once with my level 50 blaster, and emerged into the sunshine on Mercy Island. Gave the Dominator I ran into before the game crashed on me quite a scare, I assure you. -

Oh, crap. I should have mentioned that. Catwhorg and Margat had their ingame wedding awhile back. All the FC and a fair number of other folks showed up for it, including a few devs. I can't find the thread in Player Events anymore, but I know Samoa and some others got pics. Most tuxedos I've ever seen ingame.
Also, caltrops make a good rice substitute.

All I remember about this was the guy who was proclaiming (loudly) about how this "fake marriage" was an insult to the institution of marriage itself... -
Congratulations to Crescendo., CHESS's first (and so far only) 50!

My SG-mate Damien77 hit 50 after a long-hardcore struggle. Congratulations!

Is there a way to change costumes using a bind key, so the act of switching suits can be combined with a pithy saying and a flashy power activation?

You generally don't see teams of bad guys in the Hollows or Striga teleporting characters away from the entrance of the zone and ganking them, so the analogy is a bit suspect.
