    The Alt Alphabet

    [ QUOTE ]
This sounded like a fun idea to me. I don't have nearly as many characters yet - but I did manage to fill out the entire alphabet.

Excellent work, man. Great designs in there, and some solid themed heroes/villains.

Marcian, are you still planning on doing a version 2? If you are, I'd like to see it added to this thread, so that we can keep all the support it's garnered so far.
  3. I like it! Can't wait to see the finished project. Love the turn based RPG factor.

    LOL

When doing gold you could consider the more reflective metallic costume pieces if you have them on this toon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by this?

    My opinion:

    [u]Costume 1[u][*] Change mustard-yellow to gold
[u]Costume 2[u][*] Brighten either red or blue
[u]Costume 3[u][*] change yellow to gold

    [/ QUOTE ]

Gold, now there's an idea I hadn't thought of. Hopefully I'll get the time to test these suggestions soon.
  6. I got my third costume slot for my Mutant Energy/Energy Blaster back during the Halloween event, and have been trying to decide on a costume that I really like since then.

While I was thinking about it, I decided I could use some help with all three of my costumes.

    Costume 1

    Costume 2

    Costume 3

I'm pretty sure I want to stick with the basic color scheme (bue, red, yellow) but the exact combination isn't as important. I tried to use some of the Enforcer pieces in the third costume, but it looked too Tech for my Mutant Blaster to wear.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Screenshots would be a huge plus, since it will help me understand your advice.

Here's Sparky in his new armor. Unfortunately it probably won't slow his frequent trips to the hospital.
And here are two of my villains sporting the new armor.

How did you do the pose for Heavy Metal? Was that done with a demo edit? Spectacular pose, and very villianous! I'm rather impressed.
  8. I think if you combine the colors you used in this design with the pinstripe pattern you used in your latest design, you should have something that stands out more and works cohesively. I just think that the bland silver armor doesn't really do anything good for the costume, and the designs you used that had more color were also more fun to look at.
  9. I honestly liked the original version, just thought the pants stuck out too much.
  10. Was this photoshopped or simply demo-edited? Either way, excellent screenie! Love it!
  11. I would say try changing the pants from baggy to tights and see if that helps separate it from the boots a little better.
  12. Looks good, I like the way this turned out.

    Keep up the good work.
  13. Does anyone have screenshots of the different powers within Stone Armor? I have a Stone/Stone Tank who's only level 5 and I'm not sure if I want to keep leveling him or not. Interested in seeing what the powers look like.

Nice costumes, are those all the same character? Very well done.

    Patriotic Heroes

Here's my Irish heroine, Hibernia , which is the Latin name for Ireland. She's an Ice/Ice Blaster. I'm thinking of changing her hairstyle once Issue 11 goes live, but I don't know what to change it to, yet.
  16. Yet another themed costume thread, this one centers around extraterrestrials.

If you have an alien character, hero or villain, this is the place to show them off. It doesn't matter if they look human like Super-Man or weird and green like the Martian Manhunter. Even Kheldian characters are free to show off their stuff. Let's have it!
  17. Wow, no kidding.

That video was excellent, and very well edited together. The camera movement was remarkably flui, especially when moving from one fight scene to another and spinning through the city.

The action was well scripted (the parts that were scripted, anyway) and the music fit perfectly with all of it. I'd love to see more movies like this.
  18. I agree with Turbo-Ski's assessment of the costume creator, as well as Chisoku's suggestion that several unrelated pieces can be combined and colored to create a new effect.

One of my suggestions is to use the costume sets that are provided by Sexy Jay, such as the Exo-Proto and Justice sets, and then use colors that fit with the powers you've chosen. Now you may not always want to use a full set, but an interesting twist is to make a villain wearing two-toned sinister armor on the chest and legs, but offset it with different gloves and boots using a third color to round out your costume.

Plain tights can be great for this just by using the patterns provided, and matching the upper torso with the lower legs, such as the Razor pattern, or the Panels pattern, etc. With two Primary colors and a third to balance it out, this makes for a good costume recipe, in my opinion.

Nice design, you should also show her off in the nation-themed thread, since she's got a Russian appearance.

  20. I love what you did with these videos. They're amusing and also have a coherent story that's easy to follow and really enjoyable. Keep up the good work.

    Patriotic Heroes

Here's a Patriotic character I just created, called El Encierro, which is the Spanish name for the traditional Running of the Bulls. El Encierro used to be a matador in Pamplona, Spain, until fate brought him under the mercy of a demented doctor who performed genetic experiments on him, crossing his DNA with that of a bull.

    El Encierro was thusly born.

He currently has a War Mace, but I decided that doen't really make any sense at all, I was simply trying to avoid making another SS/Inv Tank. I think when Issue 11 goes live I'll re-roll him with Dual Blades.

    Hi everyone!

I agree, I just checked out each of those screenshots and I wuite honestly couldn't make out any of the details on any of the costumes. They were too blurry or stylized for me to really see anything but a bunch of colors.

Clearer screenshots with full body shots of each character would be more helpful.

    My First Movie

I thought that was very well done, nice editing, good scripting, clear voice work, and a funny joke too (if you go for that kind of humor, which I do). Surprisingly, I've never heard that joke before.

Reminds me of another corny one:
    - Two muffins are siting in the oven. One turns to the other and says, "Hey buddy, is it hot enough in here for ya?" And the other muffin just says, "Holy crap! A talking muffin!!!"

Insindiary - I think that's how I spelled it. I know I wanted it to be Encindiary, but I had to really screw up the spelling because all the other variations were taken already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Including 'Incendiary' which is the proper spelling of the word??

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I just remember that I was trying to think of all possible variations of Incendiary, and almost all of them were taken. I think this was on Liberty server.
