interesting way to get ur post count up fella
here's the general strategy outlined by Xironia back in November...
Hamidon Raid Strategy -
Unfortunately the experience I gained whilst lvl'ing my tanker to 50 was back in i3. The times I've come on as Earth with my current build I'm quite comfortable facing +4 mobs with.
Test server is the best bet, but like you said wouldn't determine the full extent of the powers unless in a team to properly check them out. But time for me is limited to be testing , therefore I rely on the up and coming tankers and post ED-knowledgable players for information.
My current build is as follows...
Name: Earth (current)
Level: 50
Archetype: Tanker
Primary: Invulnerability
Secondary: Super Strength
---------------------------------------------
01) --> Resist Physical Damage==> DmgRes(1) DmgRes(3) DmgRes(7)
01) --> Jab==> DisDur(1) DisDur(3)
02) --> Temp Invulnerability==> DmgRes(2) DmgRes(5) DmgRes(9) EndRdx(31)
04) --> Dull Pain==> Rechg(4) Rechg(5) Rechg(45) Heal(45) Heal(46)
06) --> Resist Elements==> DmgRes(6) DmgRes(7) DmgRes(15)
08) --> Unyielding==> DmgRes(8) DmgRes(9) DmgRes(15) EndRdx(23)
10) --> Haymaker==> Dmg(10) Dmg(11) Dmg(11) Rechg(34) Rechg(34) Acc(42)
12) --> Combat Jumping==> DefBuf(12) DefBuf(13) DefBuf(13)

49) --> Weave==> DefBuf(49) DefBuf(50) DefBuf(50) EndRdx(50)
---------------------------------------------
01) --> Sprint==> Run(1)
01) --> Brawl==> Dmg(1)
01) --> Gauntlet==> Empty(1)
02) --> Rest==> Rechg(2)
---------------------------------------------
I've taken every comment in and have found them very useful, thank you all ^_^ . The build I gave in the previous post is the one I'll most likely go for with a few minor tweaks to power placement. -
Almost done...just a few possible tweaks...
Powers from lvl 1-24 are pretty much set. However I could possibly move the Fitness Pool down and place Resist Energies and the Fighting Pool into those places. Would anyone advise against that? ...or would it be best to leave it and get the fitness pool early?

In regards to Resist Elements/Energies. I don't know whether it would be advisable to take both or just take one and leave the other...or not have them at all?
Would prefer not to have them so can take other powers, however if they are integral to the build (about 11% slotted with 3resist dmg) will take them in.
Here's a re-modified build I'd like without Resist Elemnts/Energies
01) --> Resist Physical Damage==> DmgRes(1) DmgRes(3) DmgRes(3)
01) --> Jab==> Dmg(1) Taunt(15) DisDur(17)
02) --> Dull Pain==> Rechg(2) Rechg(13) Rechg(17) Heal(34)
04) --> Temp Invulnerability==> DmgRes(4) DmgRes(5) DmgRes(5) EndRdx(15)
06) --> Air Superiority==> Acc(6) Dmg(7) Dmg(7) Dmg(43)
08) --> Unyielding==> DmgRes(8) DmgRes(9) DmgRes(9) EndRdx(13)
10) --> Haymaker==> Acc(10) Dmg(11) Dmg(11) Dmg(43) Taunt(43) EndRdx(46)
12) --> Swift==> Run(12)
14) --> Fly==> Fly(14)

18) --> Invincibility==> DefBuf(18) DefBuf(19) DefBuf(19) TH_Buf(31) TH_Buf(33) TH_Buf(40)
20) --> Knockout Blow==> Acc(20) Dmg(21) Dmg(21) Dmg(25) Hold(40) EndRdx(46)
22) --> Stamina==> EndMod(22) EndMod(23) EndMod(23)

32) --> Unstoppable==> Rechg(32) Rechg(34) Rechg(34) DmgRes(37) DmgRes(37) DmgRes(37)
35) --> Tough==> DmgRes(35) DmgRes(36) DmgRes(36) EndRdx(36)
38) --> Foot Stomp==> Acc(38) Dmg(39) Dmg(39) Dmg(39) Taunt(42) EndRdx(45)
41) --> Salt Crystals==> Acc(41) Sleep(42) Sleep(42)
44) --> Fossilize==> Acc(44) Hold(45) Hold(45) Hold(46)
47) --> Stalagmites==> Acc(47) DisDur(48) DisDur(48) DisDur(48)
49) --> Hand Clap==> Acc(49) Taunt(50) DisDur(50) DisDur(50)
---------------------------------------------
01) --> Sprint==> Run(1)
01) --> Brawl==> Dmg(1)
01) --> Gauntlet==> Empty(1)
02) --> Rest==> Rechg(2)
---------------------------------------------
Took Hand Clap at the end cos it looks like fun, plus the lvl of disorientate is pretty high. -
Chers for the comments guys, much appreciated

Out of curiosity are you likely to use all those attacks?
[/ QUOTE ]
Since the end consumption on attacks chains and the sort are high, I don't intend to use the attacks too often, my main priority would be meatshield, thus reason why I haven't put end reducs in the toggles in the first place.
Will sacrifice some Acc slots on the attacks (since rage will be running constant and invinc slotted with 3 tohit buffs) and place end reducs on toggles. -

Endurance Reduction enhancements in Dull Pain? WOuldn't one slot that 3 recharge reduction and 3 heals?

ROFL! just noticed that too! hehe...suyppose to be rechrge reductions! MWAH! -
After seeing some interesting points in Honsou's Inv/SS build I decided to put up Earth's original i3 build but with focus on the ED changes. This is ready for the next free respec (please let it be soon! :P ).
I respec'd in Energy mastery during i5 and i6, but find that I rarely use any of it's powers due to succumbing to being only a meat shield and minor covering damage for my team mates. I have Earth mastery for two reasons...
a) Earth wouldn't be Earth without some sort of reflection to why he was called that in the first place.
b) Although second rate controller powers they can still do their job. Sleep, Hold and Disorientate powers provide protection for my team mates.
For some of the weaker attacks that I have on Earth, I've tried to ensure that they're more effective in other areas (ie Jab will be used more to disorientate opponents).
In regards to taunt, I'm not too sure whether to take the Presence Power Pool's version instead.
Also I've kept out Resist Elements so that I could obtain Stalagmites in the Earth Mastery pool. Should I have it instead of Resist Energies...or have it instead of Tough Hide (chosen for lvl49)?
Other questions arise in whether I should put endurance reductions in my toggles or bother slotting the likes of jab with disorientates as the rate it does that affect isn't that good.
Please feel free to put some constructive criticism on the build.

Captain Solaris - Technically he should be about 78 years old or so. But working with the Government in his late 20s catapulted from the 50s to this decade after a botched experiment.
Earth - In his natural origin, he was only a teenager when he was sent hurling through space before landing on our planet. Age unknown, however looks about the same age as a typical 25 year old male would look like.
Gabriel Knight - Mid-thirties archeologist. After being bound with the demon Alouqua, it is believed he is the incarnation of the champion that slew her centuries ago.
Eternal Light - Early twenties. Martial Art's prodigy from an early age, his talents excelled when he reached puberty due to his mutant origin.
Terrax - Kheldian refugee. After being saved and released from his Quantum prison by the hero Earth. Despite his true age being unknown, his human form identity is the image of a typical 30 year old male.
Urubach - Over a milennia old, Urubach is a mischievious demon commander of the dead. -
Capt only has 4 powers taken in Radiation Blast. Neutrino Bolt, Irradiate, Cosmic Burst and Atomic Blast.
With Radiation secondary you have the sometimes overlooked power of Cosmic Burst. With extreme damage and a high percentage of disorientate, a must for PvP Rad 2ndry users.
Although most possibly not the most powerful blast out of the defender secondaries it provides a surprisingly quick recharge rate. Coupled with the debuffs (10% -def for most blasts apart from Nuetrino Bolt, Proton Volley and Cosmic Burst) means ur attacks get stronger and stronger.
Still unsure about Atomic Blast. May respec it out in next free respec. However can see its effectiveness with Kinetic's Fulcrum Shift. -
My preferred primary would be Dark Melee with Martial Arts coming a close second.
For me I would say that at the moment Super Reflexes is a lot more enjoyable than the other secondaries for a scrapper...although I have yet to experience the joys of Dark Armour (Katana/DA hero only lvl5).
Elude to me is a lot more effective and less dangerous to use compared to that of Regen's MoG and Invul's Unstoppable. -
SPARE SOME CHANGE GUV'NOR?!
Hey guys...been a while since rambled through here.
In the last couple of days I've recruited several new faces to the Guild in hope to finally start churning out some good prestige for our base.
Warm welcome to the following:

Master Mind
Prankster/Fire Bug
Soot-ee
Any of the above requiring help with enahcnement purchases look out for myself or any of the established members of the SG.
Posting here as I'l be away for the majority of next week due to uni and work commitments.So any problems, feel free to speak to some of the senior members in the SG or send me an email (click to my bio on forum).

and ps...no I won't forget I owe inf to Famke and Tsubasa for answering my "uber hard riddles" on coalition last night :P -
sounds like a good idea fella.
i for one am still interested in doing raids provided i'm available for the times made. making a global chat channel purel for raids would be ideal and would gladly sign up alongside you.

because of my tourette's and my right index finger abnormally hyperactively tap tap tapping away, the constant click attacks in diablo2 didn't bother me too much ^_^

there are games that are a LOT better to play solo(Diablo 2 and the saga of The Elder Scroll comes to mind)

*fishes around in cupboard for diablo2* used to love that game ^_^ -

Since i tend to avoid soloing because I think that paying to play a game like it's offline is a bit dumb, I'm talkin from the team view of my build because if I have to solo, I play something else..
[/ QUOTE ] I tend to solo for the first mission of a session, until I get an invite. It happens rarely now, but there have been periods when I have soloed more. Tanks seems to be in pretty high demand in the 40s, either that or I'm on lots of peoples friends list.
[/ QUOTE ]
Aye, I found that to be the same with my tank. In the lower lvls tanks are reduced to merely slow scrappers until they recieve their first decent defences like status protects. Solo'ing with your tank through lvls 20-40 is relatively easy due to having the full compliment of your defences available to them. The times when I did team were mainly in TFs (and lots I did o.O ...sick of doing them now, plus don't have the time to go the full distance nowadays) and missions that had difficult bosses or AVs. -
Personally I would stick with the secondary you have as it compliments Smash with Energy dmg. If there's anything that I regret with my tank it would be having SS instead of EM. Not only does it give you cool red glowing fists, you'll find in the later lvls that a lot more foes have a resistance to Smash/Lethal. Super Strength just doesn't feel like it saya it is ever since ED.
Although SJ offer as faster travel power to the latter, flight can get you anywhere on a map without much effort. What I don't get with SJ is that you're able to change direction in mid-air...useful for sure, but when you take a running jump forward in reality you go...well forward. You don't see the Hulk changing direction when he superjumps (yes..the Hulk is real, so neh :P ). Also to me flight feels a little more heroic soaring through the skies. -
man would've loved to come along to this one. not one to decline a few more hamio debuffs. had it been later in the evening...then most definately.
-
sweet. well done guys...49 - 30 sounds like an impressive victory.
gutted i couldn't make it on... 1) was still at work during the batle 2) had i got the day off i wouldn't have been able to play the characters i tried transfering this morning (logged into test and they're still not in there...so much about 5minutes).
looking forward to the next one to be organised. -

I have Darkness Mastery in my MA/regen. I really love it. It has some nice utilities which body doesnt offer. It opens up new tactics. But the buttom line question will always be; Is it as good as the allmighty focussed accuracy?
The answer is no.
[/ QUOTE ]
Definately I agree
I have Body Mastery with my MA/SR...however with my BS/Regen I wanted to have something a little different and something to emphasise the Vampiric background I have for him...but I digress. Dark Mastery is a pool which has served me well in PvE and PvP, therefore didn't think it would be harmful to put across an alternative to Body Mastery.
Its ok Hobo, you can put your toys back in your pram.

I took Laser Beam Eyes because otherwise Hobo would whine at me.

lol...you weren't kidding were you! -
hmmm...where did you get the notion that I "sniff"ed at Focused Acc?
I never dismissed it as a power to have. My original post on this thread gave a view on a different epic to have. What I missed was that Question actually wants to play "the big hit, the quick kill, and then the chance to run off before backup arrives." Had it been mentioned at the begining then maybe I would have reconsidered putting in an alternative to Body Mastery.
Seems as if I've stepped on a number of "Scrapapocalypse!!!111!!!" toes. You should've put a "only Scrapapocalypse!!!111!!! members should post otherwise we'll slap your wrists" sign on this since it seems every other poster not from your sg have had their comments dismissed.
Have your Focused Acc since its the must have power, may it bring you happiness and lots of babies along the way! -

Yeah, it was the guy's slotting. And more people than Stalkers have invis you know...

imo i would get dark mastery as an epic due to the holds and debuffs it has. useful for pvp, especially when regen's don't really need conserve power
[/ QUOTE ]
You're a silly man if you don't take Focused Acc in a PvP build, especially with the new +perception and res to acc debuff it's got now, plus of course you'll hardley ever miss short of Elude or Personal Force Field.
Not tested the resist to acc debuff though.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol...cheers for the put down fella...guess i'll just have to be weary of stalkers in pvp...no change there then
with 2acc SOs in my attacks and 3 tohit buffs SOs in build up...i'm pretty confident in the knowledge that i will hit opposition even with debuffs (as experienced when i came across a fire/rad controller in pvp...then again it may have been the controller's slotting).
like i said "imo i would get dark mastery ..." -
