So I guess the answer that I'm looking for, is that you can get the badge if you are native to the same side as the mission holder, or you are the mission holder, or if you are on a team through flashback.
Snowglobe, I hope you feel better someday. -
Quote:Ok, so I guess it must be a blue side/red side thing then. When I did the hero arc, all blue side people got all the badges. [edit] I can personally attest to the fact that a fellow blue side player earned the badge for completing the blue arc when I called it in.No, they do not. I can personally attest to this. A friend that had a hero in level for the arc took a rogue stalker, a certain rogue Illusion/Empath (myself), and a third character through the arc. Everyone got the No One Left Behind badge, but only the mission holder got the Helping Hand badge.
Different badge requirements.
Yes, you have to be a villain/rogue and either own the mission or possibly do it via flashback. As I said above, it is NOT true on the hero side.
I thought they were trying to move past this kind of thing. Plus there seems to be some inconsistency because someone else got around this by using an oro portal in a base. -

I tried to earn the two badges for the new villain story arc. I am a Vigilante, so I asked a villain friend to run it with me. We both wound up with the connected badge, for doing a side contact. For some reason, when the story was over, he earned the keeper of coral lore badge while I did not. I sent a petition.
I got this response:
"It appears "SadysCHICK" was not introduced to Vincent Ross before the mission. The Keeper of Coral Lore badge is only available to characters that have the mission assigned by the contact, though it is possible to participate in the mission with another character that does have the mission assigned. This appears to be what happened in your character's case.
You can find more information on this topic on the City of Heroes and City of Villains message boards."
This seems like kind of a weird response. First of all, everyone on a team doing the equivalent hero arc gets the badge. Second, I think if this explanation held true, then why did I earn the "connected" badge?
Something else happened. When I spoke to the contact after the story was done, he gave me the greeting dialogue, and I could choose one line to respond with. (I chose the "make sure he isn't protean in disguise" one.) After that, he said "I have nothing for you!"
So, I'm confused. Clearly SOMETHING isn't working as intended. Do I have to be a villain/rogue and "own" the mission? Why isn't that true on hero side? -
You have had incredibly bad experiences. Or perhaps you haven't noticed. (it's easy on 8 people teams.)

Quote:That is definitely worth looking into, I think. Sorry to hear that.Well, I was just on another Tin Mage TF, and several times I wasn't given any warning at all the prox mines were going to go off.
Except any explosive near the exploding mine also goes off, so a good portion of the room becomes a damage zone. And in the time you peel yourself off the floor, another bomb is planted at your feet.
Oh, and during the rezzing process you get the -4 level shift, even if you have the alpha slotted. -

Happy birthday! Is the 'western' themed hami raid next week in honor of you or something? lol

Quote:I don't know all the powers that do it, but Benumb from the cold domination is one of them.Like what? (Serious question; I don't have any experience with mezzing ATs, but I would like to know this)

I think you missed my question, which was why don't you trigger the bombs and be somewhere else when they go off? I think that still works, doesn't it?
-
Quote:If you can dodge a blue field, you can dodge a trip mine. or run through them at superspeed, (or ninja run) setting them off without taking damage....correct me if I'm wrong, but the bombs are all on the ground, right? Wouldn't you just need everyone to be flying (you know, with a purchasable jet pack, if nothing else), and then level him with ranged buffs, controls, and attacks?
Or can the mines actually trigger and damage a target 20 feet off the ground? Admittedly, this can make the Tanks/Scrappers/Brutes/Stalkers a bit useless in the fight, but hey... -
Source on this? [edit]I mean, I know for a fact that we set off bombs without taking damage and got the badge. There was nothing in today's patch notes that indicated you can't do that anymore, I think.

Quote:There is a LOT of notice when one is about to go off from floating text.Given the overly large amount of proximity bombs, it is unlikely that anyone would be able to dodge the proximity bombs. If a single player takes any damage from them, no player on the team gets the badge.
He isn't the one throwing out the bombs. The 3 INVISIBLE critters that CANNOT be targeted are running around dropping bombs even IF the Director is immobilized or held.
Ok, are you absolutely sure the invisible critters are still mobile and actively planting more than one bomb even if Director 11 is held and or immobilized? Because we had absolutely zero trouble with him in that state. -
Quote:No, it really doesn't. First of all, you can trigger them and run away before you take damage. This means that unless players defeat the Director in under a minute they will never get the badge.
Secondly, it's really easy to immobilize him after you hit him with a power that reduces his protection from it. -
As one of the melee people, my take on it was we had enough for one melee team, one taunting team, and the rest were ranged. The yellows went down really fast since we focused on those.

Quote:Director 11 is supposedly THROWING the bombs everywhere. This is a power that does not exist in the game, so it is being simulated with sneaky methods. That's my take on it.By the time we finished fighting him in the Tin Mage TF I did, there were bombs EVERYWHERE. The floor was covered in them. Including places that Director 11 never even got close to. I was running around trying to set as many off as I could just so there was floor to stand on again.
In my opinion, the fight with Director 11 was worse than Battle Maiden at the end of the Apex TF. I haven't heard a single other person complain about it, so it's likely that something just went wonky in the run that I did... but it was definitely ridiculous beyond reason. -

Quote:He is supposed to be dropping them, the invisible guys are just how it is implemented.First post after redname!
Kinda sucks that the invisible minelayers can't be defeated any longer, but I can't say that I didn't expect it. (Still, is there a good reason for the dude to have invisible minelayers to begin with?) :/
[edit]Still no /facepalm, like the t-shirt from San Diego promised us? Any word on that thing? lol -
Regarding respecs, I found that inherent fitness makes it a lot easier to move slots from a lower power you don't want them in. If you usually 4 slot heath and stamina (I put the healing procs in), you can slot those right away and don't have to "waste" them on an early shield power or whatever.

Quote:Do you have a cell phone with a camera in it?Thanks for the advice guys, but I'm not okay with loading up a new program or fiddling with my system for such a small problem - in the tech problem section I was told that I could correct this by disabling something in Win 7, which I'm not comfortable with.
And yes, I've tried pasting the screenshot into Paint, Word and IrfanView. -
