BTW it appears DC will be coming out with a trade that collects all the new #1 issues.

It's obvious with the actor and certain aspects of the suit they could have pulled off the iconic look perfectly, so why didn't they?

Quote:Not sure about the rotating away thing; haven't seen too much of Kitty Pryde in the comics so the closest thing I've seen to what we're talking about is Kitty saving the X-Men from the wild sentinel blast during Whedon's run. And are Kitty's abilities even dependent on her holding her breath anymore?Couldn't she just phase into the earth (holding her breath), and travel at the speed of earth's rotation away from the blast? I'm pretty sure she has done something like that before?
Also, I was thinking in terms of characters that could actually stay in the blast and survive, otherwise I would've been listing all sorts of speedsters and teleporters. -
The Atom could probably shrink down so small it wouldn't affect him.
-
Kitty Pryde might be able to survive by just phasing through the explosion, but that's assuming she's immune to various forms of radiation when she's phased.
-
I'd have trouble putting anyone on a list like that unless I've seen them convincingly cry, which is just one aspect of the range requirement.
-
Here's my Top 20 in no particular order:
- Ian McKellan
- Viggo Mortensen
- Leonardo Dicaprio
- Christian Bale
- Anthony Hopkins
- Edward Norton
- Johnny Depp
- Gary Oldman
- Matt Damon
- Morgan Freeman
- Tom Hanks
- Denzel Washington
- Robert De Niro
- Will Smith
- Billy Bob Thorton
- Kevin Spacey
- Jake Gyllenhaal
- Robert Downey Jr.
- Tom Cruise
- Paul Giamatti
There's other iconic and notable actors out there, of course, but many of them I just haven't seen enough of or just find are flat out overrated (looking at you, Benicio del Toro). -
Also, the list seems to be missing Leonardo Dicaprio.
-
So, the movie right next to the actor's name is just one of their movies, right? It's not supposed to exemplify their best work?
-
Zoe Bell was basically just an example, though, again, she does come with the benefit of actually being able to do her own action. My line of thinking was going the Dead or Alive route casting-wise by just getting lesser-known actresses for a movie that's basically just going to be eye-candy anyway to be able to pick up more actresses or put in more action for the same price.
-
Zoe Bell actually has action movie experience, though, and she hasn't benefited from always getting Photoshopped or the extensive makeup crews for closeup shots to make us think these women actually look like that because she's mostly been a stuntwoman.
-
Well, they did a My Name is Earl bike, and probably other geeky ones I haven't seen yet. I know for one of the patriotic bikes they referenced Cap's original shield for the tail fender.

Also, I probably would have put The Colbert Report on there before The Daily Show. I tend to consider The Daily Show the more informative one while The Colbert Report is the funnier one.

Hmm I'm not too familiar with Deadman beyond the basics, but the more I think about those basics, the more it seems like Deadman and television should go well together, and the involvement of the creator of Supernatural makes me hopeful.
-
Also, if I were to make this movie, I would probably look to include some smaller names and focus on the story and the action.
As in, I wouldn't mind seeing Zoe Bell cast as one of these characters instead. -
What? She benefits a lot from Photoshop in pictures but when you see her in commercials or shows and such she's not very pretty. Maybe butterface is too harsh if you take it to mean she's ugly with a hot body; I tend to think of it more as a body looking good to the degree that the level of attractiveness of the face makes the collective package disappointing. >.>
-
Haha they should have left that in.
-
Quote:I was actually referring to Jovovich and Vergara due to having no figure and being a butterface, respectively. >.>Jovovich and Beckinsale are both proven action stars but neither one of them are overly abundant in the rack department. From what little I know about Danger Girl I think all of the main actresses would need to be fully equipped with standard superheroine-sized "floatation devices".
-
What was Danger Girl even about? From all the art I've seen, just seems like T&A, and if that's the case, 2/3 of the lead roles were miscast already.
-
Quote:I think it was actually the first movie with a Best Actor and Best Actress pair that were black; I seem to recall them mentioning that in a featurette or commentary.I was also going to mention this movie even though I generally like it. It also had two more Academy Award winners besides Cuba Gooding Jr. - Whoopi Goldberg and Kathy Baker.
Also, I liked Rat Race. -
Currently rereading my Invincible trades and The League of Extraordinary Gentlement. After that I'll read the latest trade of The Boys I picked up and reread Green Lantern: Secret Origin. If I don't pick up anything else between now and the time it takes me to get through those, I'll probably reread the Harry Potter books.
