Unfortunately, it is easy to assume that VEAT's will be one of the Last things we get info on. Not just from a marketing suspense standpoint either. VEAT's were going to be in the next issue and have been fast-tracked into this issue. This means that they are probably mostly done, but still getting final fine-tuning. They will probably wait as long as they can to release more info. Plus the marketing/suspense will continue to generate interest hopefully. -

Dont do it dude, this happened on south park and eric cartman didnt wakeup until many hundreds of years later well after the fact. So you could wake up around issue 1000 or something. Is that what you want?

As I stated in an earlier thread, we are still weeks out from closed beta and more weeks out from open beta and then launch. So, expect to get something on a weekly basis from now till then. If we just dumped it all out now, well we'd be sitting around going "that's nice, but when can I play it?" So, thanks for your patience and understanding that it won't all come at once.

I actually prefer having the information come out a little at a time. It gives me something to look forward to and, as stated, doesn't create a huge "dead air" space while we wait for the content to actually show up. Besides, the sooner it comes out, the sooner people will started escalating the "Why is X so Y and how come they didn't make Z more K?

I agree that I like the little bit of info every week, but as Geko pointed out, the powerset proliferation is the cause of alot of discussion, wild speculation, debate, and hysteria on the forums. I am NOT advocating for a complete release of all 15 or 16 we still do not know. (Although i would LIKE it)
I want them to do a full article on one of the other features this week, and then leak one or two sets (like they did with Storm for corrupters) each week. I do not even care if they put it in an 'official announcement', but just slipped it in a reply post like they did with Storm Corruptors. Perhaps they plan on doing this and leaking one or two this week yet, I do not know, but I can dream.
Back on topic though. I am very happy to hear about the Hollows changes. I may actually see the Hollows on the new alts I will be rolling depending on the additional slots info and the proliferation powerests info. -

Hey I think ONE full feature article about one of the new features (Hollows, gamplay improv, midnight squad, VEATS's, Roman stuff, etc.) is enough for one week. But I was hoping that along with that we would get one or two of the 16 missing proliferation sets released each week as well.
You could wait and release all 16 unannouced sets at once as one weeks article, but I thought it would work better, and fit with the slow rollout of info that you talk about, if you gave us just one or two new proliferation sets each week. Surely two a week for 8 weeks would go over well. -
Hey they do not HAVE to give us anything at all. 12 slots on each of 11 servers is plenty. However, I am a Virtuan thru and thru and would gladly consider this, depending on the amount.
Since I RARELY play red-side, my purchase of COV was basically for the bases (which are not as cool as they good be, but I still get alot of function out of them (storage, crafting, transport) and the four extra slots. -

You Devs really do listen and are doing a SMASHING good job of keeping me playing this game, even after almost 4 years. (I have taken a month or two break a couple times, and started a month or two after launch).

You could not be farther from the truth. A big SG who already has a upgraded plot and plenty of prestige stored does not need the 3 million that much. They already have a good base and will probably USE the 3 million but do not need it.
I have a ONE-man (two account) SG for many months. 24 characters and the second account wasnt even active most of the time due to finances. My second 50 made it from low 30's to 50 in SG mode BEFORE inventions made influence valuabe again. With the 300k free prestige from the first 15 people and several hundred thousand prestige earned over the months, I have a base with full control and energy rooms (not the combo unit thing) and a room with vault and workbench and a transporter room with 4 zones. With padding, this 2.5 million (I only got up to 124 people with pads) will probably let me get a medbay and 3 more transporter rooms. with a bigger computer to control it all. This greatly rewards me.
A one account SG, with a little help from padding, can have a base with a few transporters and some storage capacity (and if your one-man SG you dont have to worry about people stealing from them.) This GREATLY helps the small SG's if your willing to put in a little work.
I cant wait to get home and build me a kicking base. I may be able to afford some actual decorations now as well. I went for pure function before since I did not have alot of prestige to play with. -

There's gonna be a lot of crosser-server filler alt swapping and trial account padding going on as a result of the prestige grant. 3 million to each SG/VG, regardless of roster-size, would have been a smarter gift, as the mass puppet account and filler toon creation is just wasteful.
Please folks, when you create your filler toons, try not to tie up any cool names.

First, let me address the double xp weekend question. No official person has said anything about this, so I doubt it will happen.
I cant find the post now, but someone said that they noticed that we seem to get two a year, one in the Jan-feb, and one around july.
Why not give us one now? The answer is simple business. People who have let thier subscriptions die tend to re-subscribe for double xp weekends. However people do the same for new issues, special events (like Halloween and Christimas events).
We have the Halloween event, followed by Issue 11, followed by the free gifts, followed by the Christmas event. People are renewing thier subscriptions for these kind of things already. I reactivated an old second account simple because of the prestige thing. They do not NEED to intice subscriptions by doing a double xp. Save that for sometime when there is a 2-3 month gap in issues and there is no special events. It simple business.
As to the base stuff. During the interviews and articles about the recent acquisition, it was noted that NCSoft would behiring more designers and would be working on new base stuff and fixing some of the stuff we have (maybe CoP? Raids?) So while the 3 million might not do MUCH for you now, it doesnt expire, and six to eight months from now, it might be more useful. Dont look a gift horse in the mouth. -

Hmmm guess I could help my tiny (3 person/4toon) VG on Virtue by using those trial codes I have laying around, dual boxing, and inviting a horde of useless alts. Just seems an annoying and akward reward that promotes the wrong type of play (I suspect to hear a lot of recruiting going on and a lot of people after the awarding complaining about being kicked from their SG, not everyone is aware of this upcoming award so may think they're getting legit SG invites).
I think a flat reward regardless of SG size would be more useful. As others have pointed out the small SGs won't get as much of a bonus (between 10 and 24 my villain got 100k prestige for his VG and that's about 75% of the VGs prestige since there's onloy 3 other members) while the big SGs that will get more probably won't notice it as much unless they are mostly inactive accounts or new and went on a recruiting spree.
Of course they could encourage SGs to trim inactive members by making the reward reverse proportional: give 20k prestige for each member LESS than the new cap that the SG has, then even a SG at the old cap would get 1.5mil prestige while a 1 person SG would get just shy of 3mil

I mean you can make a sparse barely functional base with the 300k you can get for the first 15 signups normally. Even if you only get 20-30 people to PAD your SG, you get a few hundred thousand prestige to go to town with.
Myself? I reactiveated my second account for this. I also just got a trial account. I also had an inactive friend who parked 3 characters in my SG several months ago. I will have 39 characers in my SG on my own. Then I have 24-36 slots on every other server to offer to trade someone. I dont play redside much, and only have one character over 20 on a different server. Was thinking about making a whole SG over there with my three accounts just to make a little base for him and maybe keep the characters to play around with sometime. -
I got the one fig in the COV box and didnt realize it was a game. Then spent in a weekend in a local flea market trying to sell some stuff and one guy does a comic store there on the weekends (has a real job through the week). He sells the clixs and has guys hanging out and playing pickup games. No official tournys there, just casual fun. I learned watching them that day and thought. HEY I got one whole figure already and ran home and found my ghost widow. The next day at the flea market I traded GW for a whole boxfull of extras, some of which were pretty good figures. I also traded a couple of the t-shirts I was selling for a couple boosters to the comic guy and next thing you know I had a small collection. I started going to local venues and playing. There is NO shortage of tournys in my area, even though I live in a cornfield. Granted the nearest is 18 miles away, but I got 10 different shops that run tournys within 40 miles.
My greatest feat was taking out Kingom Come Green Lantern in a 300 pt game. 7 points of damge came from Vet. Scourge! (with a little perplex help from DEO Agents). He was gunning for my E Icon Batman and Scourge pegged him. It was great. -
Actually Aett, common IO's dont have recipes. They are buildt into the workshop benchs. You MAY be able to make any level, or you may be only able to make any level you could actually slot, I dont know. HOwever, even if you can make a lvl 53 at lvl 20, you cant actually slot it.

I dont know about Diablo 2. We dont have the numbers on the set bonuses yet, but i know there are some varied numbers. Maybe the bonuses for adding the 6th are bigger number wise than the other bonuses. But even if its not the case....
Two thoughts.
One is just playing 'devil's advocate' for a second. Yea that last slot will only get you some extra end redux and recharge, but it also gets you some psi-resist which is in real short supply so some people might like that.
Also, that is part of the point. While some squishies might put luck of the gambler in a pool power offering a little defense (like combat jumping), many using it will be tanks/scraps. They might not need the Res(Hold) either. Maybe they can 4 slot luck of the gambler and maybe TWO kismet pieces (although they will be topped at lvl 30 and the pieces will be weaker) and get a recovery increase. Or maybe just 4 from luck of the gambler and a hami-O or two. But not having a really extra special bonus means its not as neccessary to compete sets, which means more options are viable. More options, more DIVERSITY, which is what they have been trying to do for some time.
