  1. Um. Pessimist here: what happens if you make a loss?

  2. Capa_Devans

    #6!

Congrats. Now use it to PL no 7.
  3. Not such good news for Thursday and Friday.

Thursday: Capa (mind dom), Armeros (blaster), Prof Malice (mind dom), Vivixen (brute), Willow (veat run 1, thermal corr run 2), Anne - (plant dom run 1,rad corr run 2), coonie (emp ice), Amp (sonic)

I won't be running any more evening TFs. It's just too late for me and I know at least three of us wanted to be in bed by the end. Mission three is coming my most hated mission on this SF; both runs Thursday failed there. The AVs are either badly grouped for sleeping or actively wandering around. And that Only Affecting Self nonsense makes me want to kick a Dev. Being periodically OAS'd is frustrating especially given I wasn't moving at all.

Nice team, great run and I'm disappointed we didn't get that. It was awful luck on mission three that took people out. Warning people, my wall-o-text instructions might get bigger on that mission.

Friday: Capa (mind dom), BB (dark MM), Kay (mind dom), Botley (rad), Alpha Scion (dark MM), Badjac (brute), k2dp (stalker), Quainze13 (tank)

Huge thanks to the guys on this one. I had a few spots to fill so there was a bit of a wait before we got going. My thanks to whichever team mates threatened their friends into joining.

It was a bit of an odd run; health bars did drop a bit but nothing overly serious. Considering at least one person hadn't done this SF and only Kay, Bad and Botley had run these with me before, it went remarkably smoothly. The team gel'd really quickly and were very patient with my wall-o-texts.

I probably confused the team on the ruined Atlas map about pulling Sister first. I'd just like to explain that so everyone understands for next time.

I got to a position where I wasn't in OAS. I could hit Manti and Sister OR BABS and Numi and be certain to keep 2 slept even if OAS kicked in (which I knew it would and it did). Splitting sleeps between Manti/Sis and BABS/Numi groups risked them waking and getting all four. I chose safety. By pulling Sister (who buffs making sleeping harder) it left Manti who couldn't climb as worst-case-hero-loose scenario. That was manageable. Team kills Sister while Manti runs around. By pulling Numina you left me trying to keep both groups slept during my brief un-OASness. If BABS had got lose you'd have had two hero's to deal with and not one. On other maps the hero grouping is MUCH MUCH easier/tighter so Numi first is fine because the mind dom can get all the Heros with one AOE sleep.

I really didn't have time to explain that while trying to sleep stuff in between AOE. I had very good reasons for those pulling instructions and it was the worst possible map to pull the wrong Hero. I thought we were very lucky to get away with it.

We got paid back though as someone got hit on mission four. Those Longbow debuffs are brutal though. I'm convinced they've been beefed up recently. Playing redside a lot, I've fought a lot of Longbow.

The last mission went ok but I think would have gone better if we were still in Mo-Mode. Getting out when Statesman got lose didn't seem to happen for some reason which was never going to end well for those who stayed. I know it may seem like an over reaction to exit and let the mobs reset when an extra gets lose - and no I don't always do it - but Statesman ... yeah, I'm going to run like a deer.

Thanks all for joining and I hope those of you who hadn't ran with me before will do so again sometime.

    Sunday 10am est

I am really not happy with this team make up. I know there is another MoLR that evening so I'm going to send out a couple of tells asking if people can alt to that. The team balance as it stands SUCKS and as this is the last MoLR I intend to run for a few, I want the best possible chance of success on it.

    1) Capa - whatever is required but likely perma mind dom
    2) Sinnersaint - blaster
    3) Electrosys - blaster
    4) Kay - mind dom
    5) Armeros - blaster
    6) Jaffah bots/traps
    7) Lady willow - heals/shields please
    8) TANK

We are hurting for tankage, buffage (shields/heals)

  4. Most of us weren't there so it is right that we do not give an opinion whether BL00D was right or wrong because we know nothing about the situation. I note the people in this thread avoided doing so.

However, I know about BL00D's runs and his leadership so I will comment on that. BL00D runs great speed runs and while I don't often speed, I do enjoy his. Props for running so many TFs especially PuGs. They can be a pain but does maintain the interest of people who want to team but don't want that smelly star You always warn people it's a speed and you give instructions during the TF. It says a lot about your quality as a leader for giving the guy you'd had a problem previously with the benefit of the doubt. I've found that letting people mess up twice is a good indicator of whether they're worthwhile.

No idea what the problem was and frankly I don't care. Doubtful it was bad tactics on your part and even if it was, I know you - like any decent leader - will listen to an idea expecially via tell because we can all learn something. I for one never mind cribbing ideas.

It's sad it got to the stage that you had to kick, personally I'd rather they had the bottle to quit. That's fair enough early on; no one pays their fee to have a bad time. Any leader who whines at someone who quits because they think you're a bad leader is moronic and proves their point in my opinion. Kicking is so rare on Guardian, as are complete morons. I have a global ignore list of precisely two people. Same SG. I've taken other members of the same SG on my Master runs and they were absolutely lovely. Go figure.

Be delighted to catch you on the next speed run, BL00D. Pending Capa's Car Collection issues ..... *banghead*
  5. Well done all! Especially on killing Stormy; always fun to do that.

Interesting that is the first successful CoP I've seen where he didn't go down before the shields went back up. Double congrats; I know what you mean Omega about fast breaks being important.

My apologies to Omega for being a no show.

Yesterday was a bit hectic (finshed a MoLR at 5am, 2 hours sleep then up to collect my car from the garage, MoLR 3pm my time, off on a 100 mile trip to collect my uncles car, got home at 11pm. I didn't even eat dinner, I went straight to bed). My alarm went off at 7.30am and I was not pleased. His car is now at the garage so wait until it needs Capa's Car Collection service followed by Capa's Car Delivery Service back to his home.

I admit I'd forgotten totally about the CoP which is probably just as well because if I'd realized I'd have tried to stay up for it.

    Delighted you got it guys.
  6. As always if I'm around just yell and I'll grab what you need.

  8. Ok I've been adding in the interest and if you look above Sundays run looks terrible unbalanced; we're hurting for buffage and a tank and that's a terrible plan. So I will run one Friday morning so we can even out the teams.

BB I'm sticking you down as provisional on Dragun for Friday as that didn't seem to be an iffy day. Please let me know if that's ok.

    This.

Nor does "faster" equal "appropriate to the situation".
  11. Words aren't adequate right now. I lost my mother suddenly a few years ago so I understand.

I wish you the best in this worst of times. That you can be strong in the coming days during the arrangements and more so once the formalities are over.

    My condolences and thoughts.

I tend to feel that, unless the team is dying as a result of someone's actions, it's pretty much up to them how to play.
Yes and no. Yes if you aren't causing a team wipe, that's great. No if your actions are actively hampering someone else and the team. Scattering mobs on an AoE heavy team or KB with a melee-heavy team are two simple examples. May not cause a wipe but isn't very team-friendly.

From your version it doesn't sound like a great tank; anyone telling me where to stand/when to buff etc wouldn't be teaming with me for very long. I'd kick him or quit.

However ... he does have a point about the trops in my opinion. If I see a mob move away from me and towards the team I grab it; if the mobs are all moving and in various directions I have no idea which is going for the squishies and which are just running from trops. (I'm not a herding tank usually, closest I'll get is pulling on Master runs.)

Well there is rarely an unarguable truth or right; that's the point and can be seen from the various opinions above. It is possible to make a case for damage mitigation, it is equally possible to make a point that trops at the melee'rs feet is annoying, causes scatter contributes less mitigation that placing them between the mobs and the squishies or even partly under the mobs and in front of the squishies.

You seem to just want validation that you were right. I don't think you will get that. Focusing on "the correct playstyle" is misguided no matter who says it. Some TACTICS are a good idea in a certain situation. But no tactic is ALWAYS right. Team dynamic/player competency/type of team/run can all effect a tactic for a situation. Again, my opinion.

This is a MMO and part of that is playing nicely with others. I love wormhole; it drives most people crazy so I hold off on big teams. Same deal with the trops. I duo a lot with a guy who uses them a LOT and they are fantastic with a couple of squishies placed between us and th mobs. But when I'm in melee if he kept dropping them at my feel (which he doesn't) I'd ask him to stop. He may not agree but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't throw a hissy fit about it and would respect that 1 or 2 dot damage isn't that big a deal and he can get the same safety mitigation by a slight change in placement.

For the pop quiz I'd go B but frankly I probably wouldn't even bother with Bonfire unless we were in trouble. I'll probably be wrong though.

    Thanks

    You're more than welcome Willow.

Your support of my Early Bird Master runs has been tremendous and much appreciated.

It's been a pleasure to lead so many successful Master runs and it's down to some great and lovely players like yourself.
  14. Pfft. I've got a successful MoLR with two blasters. I'll sign you up anyway.
  15. Not the official one no, but there's a pre-19 edit been done by someone on the forum. I've been fiddling with that.

    EDIT:
FINALLY found the link - http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...1&postcount=36
  16. By special request, two more MoLR's

    Thursday 11 November ** 7.30 PM ** EST *** note the time please ***

I normally start on time but for this run I'm going to say if we aren't started by 7.45 PM, we don't run. Why? Because it's late for me and I don't want to mess it up for seven other people at 4 am my time. I'd feel like a complete moron. It was bad enough we lost Ariel's to power lag. I swear lag has caused more failed Mo's than complete suicidal idiocy from players.

    Back on topic ....

    1) Capa - whatever is required
    2) Armeros - blaster
    3) Prof Malice - Mind dom
    4) Vivixen - her choice
    5) Willow - her choice although doubt it'll be an emp
    6) Anne - plant dom (maybe)
    7) coonie - emp/ice
    8) Amp

    2) Sinnersaint - blaster
    3) Electrosys - scrapper I htink
    4) Kay - mind dom
    5) Anne - plant dom (if you get it on thur, might ask you to step down)
    6) Jaffah bots/traps
    7) Armeros - blaster (if you get it on thur, might ask you to step down)
    8) shields/buffage

    OTHER INTEREST:
    BB - Mon, Wed, Fri

Usual reminder; I don't stealth/tp nor speed these so allow 3 hours roughly. Sometimes we're quicker, sometimes not. I do fast or good; I prefer good on these.

We will not be running at +4, Malice. In fact you complained on a previous MoLR when I had my diff at +1. You made me lower it!

Maybe next time +4 and no mind dom.
  17. Like anyone with altitus (and this game encourages it), it would be fantastic if I didn't have to rush to get the respecing done. Across five servers I'm looking at 17 50's, a dozen 40+ and I don't want to count the mid-ranges. I may just remake anything under 20 later.

Having characters which have used my vet specs and respec trial respecs, it would be lovely if Issue freespec's stacked from previous issues, but in all honesty I don't expect it to happen. NC isn't obliged to give us freespecs, I'm pleased that they do - it's the right thing to do when powers are changed.

However, I have to hold my hands up and say that rather than dual builds, I'm much more likely to be using both respecs to pull out extra enhancements on the same build (at least one build is a ground-up rebuild). I doubt that I'm the only one that uses respecs to move around enhancements rather than just fix the changed power.

For a while I've had folder of i19 builds from the pre-i19 Mids. During spare minutes I load up a current build with current Mids and an i19 build plan on the pre-i19 Mids and tinker. The publish of the Incarnate slots info means I can plan which chars will be doing that and which won't. I encourage anyone who can to do the same; get the Mids, stick the builds in a new folder and play with it.

Yes it is going to be a pain buying the new enhancements/salvage and yes if you're doing a complete rebuild you will have an unplayable character for a week (or worse if you are moving enhs from one char to another) but at least you'll have a plan.

    Other than that it's prioritize.
  18. Marginally OT but can I ask the web designers to have another look at that website. The font is horrible and it is not clear where there are links in the text.

    Such a shame.
  19. The way I read the OP, he isn't complaining about a situation such as PumBumbler describes but where someone buys up all of one product which should be fairly common (EG tier 3 salvage) and price fixes it.

I can understand PvP and purples being expensive, they're rare but I do wonder when items which I'd expect to be common are expensive.

Personally I just won't pay if I don't think it's worth it. I'll use what I have or use merits or not bother at all. In fact I recall when working on the memorization badges on one character, I got so annoyed with the prices of some stuff, I went and paid MORE from the University table than give the money to the guys selling on the market. Yeah I can be like that.
  20. Have a nice peaceful day, Vix.
  21. Success! Again!

4th MoLR this week, in addition to a MoKhan, 2 MoCudas and a MoSTF.

Today's winners of Master of Lord Recluse SF
    1) Capa - mind dom
    2) Willow - emp
    3) Viv - thermal
    4) Malice - brute
    5) Botley -ice cold
    6) Anne - dark dark
    7) Kay Nova - fort

Admittedly not the smoothest of runs and we did have to restart.

The team had awesome buffage (I had over 100% ranged def at one point). I don't normally take a mind dom on anything but for this it's pretty awesome. As a side project might work on Moing it without the dom.

Armerous, let me know which eve you can run and I will try and get a balanced team for it. Preferably before i19 hits or everyone will be playing with the new stuff. I'm more interested in seven patient players who know their char and I know from previous runs, you are that.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who has joined one of these runs. The popularity constantly amazes me, especially considering that we don't stealth/tp bits so they can be pretty lengthy. But hey; that's part of the achievement, heh?
  22. Ok this is a go guys.

Next up Master of Lord Recluse SF - Monday 10am EST
    1) Capa - mind dom
    2) Willow - emp
    3) Viv - thermal
    4) Malice - brute
    5) Amp - sonic?
    6) Anne - dark dark
    7) waiting for tell back
    8) Kay Nova - FF MM

@Armeros - Ariel normally runs them at a weekend. The couple I did over this weekend were inpromptu flukes.

Would an evening be possible rather than a weekend?
