  1. I'm sad to see this...

    http://www.people.com/people/article...435305,00.html

Tom Bosley the folksy father of Richie Cunningham on the '70s sitcom about the '50s, ABC's Happy Days, died Tuesday in his Palm Springs, Calif., home. On Oct. 1 he had turned 83.

The actor died of a staph infection, according to TMZ, which first reported his death.

Before finding fame on the small screene, Bosley won a Tony for starring as the beloved New York City Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia in the Puliter-Prize-winning 1959 musical Fiorello!. He also made a memorable mark in the 1964 Peter Sellers cult comedy The World of Henry Orient, as the too-understanding husband of Angela Lansbury's character.

After Happy Days, he would frequently costar with Lansbury on her CBS series, Murder She Wrote.

Reacting to Bosley's death, his Happy Days costar Henry Winkler expressed his sadness, telling Los Angeles's KNX-1070 News Radio, "I'm in shock, I really am. I spoke to him just a few weeks ago and he seemed to be getting his strength back."

Born in Chicago, Bosley was the younger son of a real estate broker father and a former concert pianist mother. "We were fairly wealthy until the stock market crashed," he told PEOPLE in 1979, during the Happy Days craze. "When I was 2, my father lost all his money." His parents divorced nine years later.

Bosley joined the Navy in 1945 at 17 ("I'm the only guy I know who went in as a seaman and came out a seaman"), then enrolled in pre-law at DePaul University. In his first year, he switched to acting.

After stock theater in Illinois (with fellow aspirants Paul Newman and Geraldine Page), he flipped a coin in 1950 to decide between New York and Los Angeles. New York won.

For nine years before Fiorello! he acted off-Broadway and in summer stock while working menial jobs to feed himself. Movie and TV roles followed, and whenever there was a Happy Days reunion, he could always be counted upon to appear – and tease his TV son, Ron Howard, about not casting him in his movies.

Bosley married twice. His first wife, Jean, a dancer, died in 1978 (they had wed in 1962). His second wife, the former Patricia Carr, survives him. They married in 1980. He also has a daughter, Amy.

Ironically, Bosley's death comes only a few days after that of another iconic '50s TV parent, Barbara Billingsley, of Leave It to Beaver.

I was looking at that one, but I heard multiple issues regarding the sound card. How would you rate the performance of the one I posted compared to first one?

    Quick question.

So pretty much I'm looking at bare minimum like I have been. I was hoping that the newer graphics card and more memory would yeild at least somewhat better performance.

Ok awesome...any idea if it will play above the minimum settings on everything? I'm not looking to play ultra mode on it or anything, but would like to enjoy some of the visuals.

    Quick question.

I'm looking into buying a laptop that has the following:
    dual core 2.3 ghz CPU
    4gb ddr3 ram
    ati HD 4200 vid card.

My question is simple: will this run CoH?

(Sorry there's not much more detail, typing from my phone at work!)
  7. Recently my desktop motherboard fried. Since then I have been looking for a moderately priced laptop to play CoH on.

Here's the issue; due to a small budget, I'm looking for a laptop somewhere along the lines of $500-$800 which can make it difficult.

As for tech specs, I would only require a few things:
    3GB RAM
Core 2 Duo or above CPU
    Dedicated video card
Numpad on the keyboard (keybinds are a must for most of my characters, and a numpad is the easiest thing to use.

Anyone know of a particularly good PC with those specs in that price range?

    Thanks!
  8. Hmmm...I had no clue that the EU boards were merging with the US boards.

    Should be fun!

    Pinnacle and I14

    <---- @Caol

I had no idea I was unintentionally adding to that frightening conversation...though it was a fun team! Gotta love Pinn.
  10. Thanks for this guide! I just used the settings for my nVidia card, and now Lagville is no longer laggy!

    "Moral Combat"

Holy Necro-Post Batman! Can't believe my post is still around. And yes, I found out after I originally posted this that the project was canceled. It's a shame that Jack Thompson still has his license and is spreading his ridiculous theories.

  14. I can't post a picture of this because I'm at work...but whenever you put a cape on a character with the Samurai chest pieces there is a bad clipping effect. Is there a fix on the way for this?

    "Moral Combat"

    [ QUOTE ]
Server02a 1up pph: "Moral Kombat" edbc: "There is no IMBD entry for the movie, and the official website is no longer active. The only other information is an Apple.com article on the project from 2005, which mainly focuses on the production, and not the content of the documentary. The article also states that the documentary was supposed to be released in the Summer/Fall of 2005. The movie is not available for purchase on Amazon.com, nor is it listed for sale on other online movie retailers."

Conclusion? A failed-production that fell on deaf-ears while trapped in eternal search of a Distributor. Haha!

[/ QUOTE ] The quoted entry and having Statesman post in my thread has made my day!

I agree with you, but it still seems odd that they would add CoH to the mix. In games like this one we save people not kill them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well we save those people by beating other ones into unconciousness. In fact, if we're arguing that line of reasoning, many of the games in that trailer (specifically the military themed ones) have you commiting violent acts "for the greater good"

[/ QUOTE ]True, hadn't thought of that.

    "Moral Combat"

There has been a lot of talk about video games causing violence by people like Jack Thompson. Some people agree with his views and some people do not...I for one do not. Personal opinions aside, a documentary is being made called "Moral Combat" talking about the gaming industry's effect on society. Penny Arcade listed this link . Within this trailer they have a few screenshots of Statesman, as well as shots from other games. I'm not trying to start a flamewar about video game violence, but what I do ask is this: Do you think the CoX universe really falls under the same category as the rest of the games shown in 'Moral Combat'? Is there really a reason to put a game like ours under fire? Hope this makes sense, and thanks for reading my early morning rambling.
