The Heretics: They Think This Unit A Fool
Sheet metal bent under the figures fingers, tiny lasers cut gears smaller than the head of a pin.
They Think: Their Charade: Their Shadow Play: Their Work Of Fiction: Will Save The Betrayer
A brief static charge moved the gear, setting it in place with its brothers.
Lies: All Humanity Understands: Lies: All Humanity Ever Speaks : Mistruths: Distractions: Heresy.
The gears began to turn, a melody filled the room.
Paragon City: Nay: Humanity Will Not Hide: Mechano From This Unit: Sul Dar Has Blessed This Unit: This Unit Sees Through: This Cities Play Acting -
M3 Radio Station ((Mad Marvellous Metal!)) Port Independence
A song plays on loop it had been playing before all the stations had been interrupted.
The place is a mess... it's worse than a mess the staff lie where they fell, blood coats every surface, flesh and organs are strewn about like a grotesque butchers market.
Above all this carnage floats a copper like orb, almost unnaturally smooth it emits a pale blue light as it floats.... faintly the sound of whirring can be heard from within, like the gears of some complex clock. -
Port Independence Hospital
Margaret Johnson knew she was tough, tough enough that this was hurting like hell, her body ate chemicals nothing could poison her however nothing could deaden her pain. Everything seemed white, the light bleached everything colours seemed muted dimly she could hear music.
'What is it?'
'Valkyries?'
'They are coming to get me?'
She's bleeding out! Get suction on it now!an unknown voice said
People were working around her.... in her she realised, dimly she could see blood staining their clothes her blood.
'Please.....'
'Please not yet'
Things started to dim, the light the music the presence of people it all faded away.
'Mom Dad...not yet....'
Twenty minutes earlier the beach Port Independence
Margaret Johnson loved the ocean, she'd been fascinated with it ever since she first saw it on a nature show at the age of five, all her school projects had something to do with the ocean, despite the stretches she had to make. She'd taken the name Hydro Foil when her powers had come on at puberty she'd believed she was a mutant, she could breathe under the water, swim at incredible speeds even manipulate the water with her will.
It had come as a surprise but had explained so much when her mother had told her the truth about her father. Her father had been a water elemental taken human form, that had fallen in love, married and ultimately died trying to protect their home town.
She adjusted her woolly cap, she liked it despite her workmates calling her Jackie Custo when she wore it, something shook her from her silent thoughts an armoured figure walking from the sea, striding up the beach.
She approached, covered in sea weed the figure appeared to be looking around a red light glowing in the morning mist.
Hello can I hel... she called out as she approached and was cut off.
The figure raised on hand and the air burned between them.... the air burned and so did Maragret, she collapsed the front of her chest burned away by intense heat, the world shimmered as her mediport device ported her away.
Paragon City
Radios crackled with static and TV screens filled with snow over the air waves a voice spoke metallic, emotionless with a metronomes rhythm.
Hear This Unit: Accursed City Of Heretic: Deviants: Genetically Inferior Scum
Thou: Who Hast Sheltered: Doctor Edward Johnson....
Thou Hast: Called: Retribution Upon Thy Selves
Know This Only: The Blood Of The Betrayer: Doctor Edward Johnson Shall Sate This Retribution : Slay Him And Be Spared
Prepare Your Selves: Heretics: For It Is The Divine Will Of Sul Dar: That This City Shall Burn
The snow fades and the crackle returns only for the confused deejays of various stations to apologies for the loss of coverage and to discuss what the voice had said.
The signal used to broadcast and override points to a small radio station in Port Independence -
Tomb's thugs while raiding causing drug fueled destruction and looting ((Aka A Mayhem Mission))
Gamma Ray - Money -
Speakers start to play around the factory grounds, music starts to blare out it sounds like this.
From the reaction of the thugs it seems to be a normal thing, possibly some sort of signal? -
[ QUOTE ]
"Requestin' permission to fire." Imogen aligned her sights with a patroling guard as she spoke...
[/ QUOTE ]
"Permission Granted, Thomas will move in as soon as you begin covering fire." the police commanders voice answered across the air waves

Maxine peered over at the site, giving the place as good a look-over as possible from her current position as dark clouds gradually formed around the Mackem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Down in the factory courtyard the thugs don't seem to be taking things seriously, even the patrolling guards occasionally stop to smoke a cigarette or to drink from plastic bottles filled with a fluorescent liquid either a light red or deep blue. -
We have red electric attacks though and 'dark' invul powers.
-
Then perhaps I can get away with my idea for the ybr.exe arc!
Edit: It involves an assasult rifle named 7070 -
Map
Yellow oblongs represent the police line.
Black blocks are buildings higher than the factory by two to three stories.
Brown represent buildings smaller than the factory and the hastily assembled corrugated iron wall.
Grey are the same height as the wall and thus the roof of the factory.
The green line is the corrugated iron wall/fence.
Red C's represent Camera's mounted at the top of the wall they moves in arcs facing inwards.
The purple block reprsents the main building it's all red brick and smashed windows graffit all over, the roof is slates and in good repair, fro mthe right height it's possible to see inside where it looks a little like a crack house people sleeping on cots and matresses.
The green is a cobbled together well shed, bits of metal to keep the rain off towards the corridor, from the right height and angle it's possible to see guns.... lots of guns, occasionally some one heads there and returns empty handed to the central building or to talk with others. Occasionaly some one heads there to pick up a gun and patrol the grounds, compared to the pistols and cheap machine guns the rest have, the weapons in there appear to be assault rifles.
The red block building is all heavy bricks the roof is seriously re-enforced, barbed wire around the edges and various devices. It's the only roof covered by camera surveillance. The windows have been bricked up, recently by the looks of the mortar, the only way in appears to be through the central building.
The factory is backed by the river, a few corroded pipes mark where the factory used to flush out paints and such into the river. -
The factory continued it's normal bustle the ground around trembled slightly as the machines within performed their tasks. In the court yard thugs wandered around, some on patrol some just chilling in the centre some one had chalked out a ring and a pair of burly street toughs were knocking the stuffing out of each other to the cheers and betting of an assembled crowd of low lifes.
The police had set up barricades further down the road, blocking the factories access to the main road their unease at what promised to be a dangerous bust was palpable particularly to Helena as she browsed the officers.
A brief cheer echoes through the neighbour hood as one of the brawlers knocks the offer out, as soon as he is down however a challenger steps up prompting another roar of approval. -
Wonder how many boss characters we can make in our missions/arcs.

Now this is odd.
Less the 24hrs after I post a comment asking for the cloak & dagger act to be dropped we get yet another post full of cloak & dagger stuff.
WHATS WRONG WITH COMING OUT AND TELLING US WHAT YOU'VE GOT PLANNED???
Very little of that post is new info. I'm sure we all know the MA is full of "under the hood" stuff, and yes we understand that its a big job, so it would fill a whole issue in it's self - but why oh why say "and some other stuff".
I'm left with the impression that the "stuff" is of so little value that the devs are imbarrassed by it, and it shames them.

CO will steal it, I mean their main villain is evil Dr Destiny.... [censored]! -
((Sorry for the delay, if people still are interested I'll kick this back awake tomorrow.
Broken elbow plus lots of work essay work meant I couldn't face typing, but oh yes prepare for twists! for turns! for more of both than in an episode of Diagnosis murder!!!)) -
Hmmmm might bring BUO for a bit of rock-em-sockem robot action.

Doubt it's a sequal not with the Mac version still in Beta.
It'd be pointless to be developing both. -

Grav Mistress, to borrow one of Ghostie's characters for illustrative purposes, is simultaneously a powerful controller and a bonded Kheldian. This is impossible to duplicate in-game, so Ghostie has two (or more) versions of the character to allow chopping and changing dependent on circumstances.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm with the right proc IO's you could sort of pull it off. -

In the ads for the Korean release or at least roughly around that time, Mirror Spirit is touted as the most powerful magic-user (or somesuch) too.
[/ QUOTE ]
She can't be that powerful after all she's just a demon that came about from a mirror being left unused for so long, or is it used for a long time? -
If you make a character capable of soloing AV's you should be allowed to be IC more powerful than said AV's.
Likewise if your characters RP is they are as tough as old beats to knock down, you should be a Tanker or Brute maybe a Scrapper, possibly a Blaster with EPP God Mode.
Like wise capable of shooting lasers out of your fingers? How come you're playing a Ninja Blade stalker?
Aka if your characters meant to have a power that's in game, make them have that power or as close as you can get to it.
My Two pence any way.
Edit To Add:
It'd be like some one RPing a Paladin but playing a Rogue. -

Still, just in case I have slighted you somehow, here, five minutes of work.

Thank you Z, let's have a look...
Think I'm going to have to go with... "it's not much worse than the GGOOC channel most of the time. Of course, I left the GGOOC channel because I got sick of listening to this kind of rubbish the entire time I was logged on and because various members had to be right all the time."
[/ QUOTE ]
Think most of that has died down, got my suspicions that certain people were trolling just to be censoreds. -
[ QUOTE ]
Ah quick question, might be known, for Fusion Generator you need to spend 50 hours in PvP zones, if two characters spend time in PvP zones, is that 25 hours each? (Or fifty characters at once earn it in an hour?).

Combined I guess like the Recluse defeat item. -
11pm the 24th of December
What had started out as merely a jest had become something close to an obsession, it had occured while Twilighter had been in her new crime fighting persona, that of the ally of justice Awesometastic Girl, discussions had occurred regarding how similar jolly old Saint Nick and the dastardly tyrant Lord Recluse were in their monitoring of people world wide. The idea took root in a mind fertile with youthful imaginings and thus had begun the obsession, the vines of obsession had born fruit.
Are you really sure this is right Mistress? the soft voice of the demon blade Mister sword, filled the girls head.
You mean the clock? she asked back, a mouth full of components kept her reply silent.
The obsession had meant the construction of her presents had been delayed, currently she was building a clock, a special clock indeed. There had been incidents, involving the labs and the daily occurrence of 'bunny time', bunny time could strike at any moment indeed it could strike several times in one day and so Twilighter was building a clock, a joint present for the three lab bunnies, detecting the certain changes in body temperature and thus differing pressures within the lab environment it would then change from displaying the actual time to displaying a message of warning.
Not the clock Mistress the blade was as patient as the metal it was made from
The enhanced stealth system for Sis? she mused around a mouthful of clockwork.
No Mistress though I wonder if you are being entirely honest in your intentions the sword answered
You mean the chemical cancellation effect? That's totally just to help her, it'll stop poisons and drugs Twili mumbled rather defensively.
Mistress are you sure it is right to build such defensive devices to catch this holiday Saint? the sword questioned her
Sure minmetic webs, photophasic fields and quantum flux negators aren't that bad she mumbled knowing what the next objection would be
You have powered them with universes, the very birth energies of other realities the swords voice was exasperated
Twilighter frowned, scratching her forehead with the point of a screw driver.
It worked didn't it? I hope Momma likes her present -

One thing that did concern me though was at 12.30 Sunday afternoon, I did a search for heroes between lvls 31 and 45 on Union and got a list of 50. That list wasn't truncated.

12:30 on Sunday afternoon, the last Sunday before Christmas. The last day a LOT of people have to get Christmas shopping done. Riiiiight...
[/ QUOTE ]
Pfft.. Christmas Eve is the last day you get your last minute shopping done. Any earlier just isn't trying hard enough
[/ QUOTE ]
That depends on work commitments.
[/ QUOTE ]
Only if you work very late.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or perhaps early?
As in you finish the ship say midday but just can't be arsed to go shopping, having been working since midnight?
of course you could be employed in retail in which case lol -

Someone's always faster. It's like high kicks in martial arts. I (and I am not a good martial artist) could catch people's legs, and then they're a bit stuck. Here, all you need do is hook the axe head. They've over-extended to thrust like that, they're off balance and stuffed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your supposed to be close in when you do it, axes aren't a very elegant weapon much more a brawling style than swordplay. -
[ QUOTE ]
Only if you want to lose your axe.

Thrust faster.
Basically your using it as a quick bludgeon attack to knock aside an opponents shield/weapon.
