No complaints on a longer than expected wait on something that's completely free. Looking forward to seeing the results though.

Aah, that's what you meant, gotcha. Who was up in the first ep anyway? And looking forward to hearing thoughts on my arc.

A couple more of my own, in the process of interconnecting all of them... I have the name on every server except Freedom, and actually play about 5 of them... I know I have problems.
By the way, these are intended to be good bios. Interesting doesn't automatically mean horribly bad. Compliment them, make fun of them, or ignore them.

Quote:Played as a level 12 Shield/Mace Tanker on Heroic. This arc is pretty short and fun with only a couple little nits I had with it. I really like Ms. Liberty's personality as the contact. The first mission has you rescuing the Mole from the Hellions and also investigating the strange invitation to a rave with weird red glyphs written all over it. I wasn't sure about the second objective in the mission, but I found the glowie at the back of the map, and it spawned a boss all the way over at the front of the map. This is an outdoor map so you might want to consider making the boss spawn at the beginning and make the clues more modular. They each have half of what you need, so why not spell out that half and do something where it doesn't make sense until you have both halves?Originally Posted by anachrodragonPoi, Demonology, and Everything I Learned From Hellions
Arc ID: 164235
Levels: 1-14
Length: 2 missions, 20 minutes
Description: A mysterious party invitation, strange markings, and a burning suspicion are all that is needed to conclude that the Hellions are up to no good once again. It's up to you to investigate and save Paragon from these Satanic Pyromaniacs. Simplistic and quick.
Note: Simple arc intended for brand new heroes. Play tested on a level 2 fresh out of the tutorial. Also, I15 introduced a bug that caused problems for mission 2. The mission is un-timed for now.
Now, according to all my information gathered from the first mission, the Hellions are planning on blowing up a rave. And all the signature heroes minus Ms. Liberty are all busy, and this is all too dangerous for such a low level hero as I am, so she tells me to go to IP and get Statesman to help and to NOT come help her. Obviously, you go help her anyway. I did find this to be a little over the top. Hellions are a low level threat no matter how you cut it, and they don't require the Freedom Phalanx. I did enjoy Ms. Liberty's hangover freak out when I rescue her though. Overall, I enjoyed it. One other suggestion that would be awesome, is if you could use Sister Flame's Disco Trolls in here as a cameo ambush on the final boss. -

Missed it live, but would like to listen, and the archive link isn't working. It's just giving me a 2 hrs of crap music and some stand-up comedy clips.

I played this as a level 44 fire/fire/soul brute on difficulty level 4. I was too lazy to drop it down. As a fire/fire, I'm fairly used to dieing, I use Rise of the Phoenix on regular occasions - not enough to need to slot it for more than one recharge, but regularly, and I don't count it as being defeated unless I have to go to the hospital.
So I did read the full description and came into this arc knowing full well that it was intended to be bad. And it wasn't anywhere near what it could have been. In fact, there were many points in this arc where I was quite enjoying the challenge level of it. The custom enemies - outside of the Bosses and higher - had no horribly annoying powers like confuses or cages or extreme knockback. They were very challenging - healing, -def, -res, -acc, +def, ranged fliers, stealth, mastermind. But enough variety that most of the time they weren't over-stacked.
The story was an interesting one, it does railroad your character - I believe that's the correct term, your character has no choice but to continue on with what the contact asks, outside of quitting the arc altogether. The objectives were nothing completely annoying. There were some ambushes, one mission with 5 fake glowies and 1 real one, though I luckily got the real one on the first try so I don't know if there were other tricks with the fake ones.
The final mission however is another story. The rest of the arc has saving grace to it in my opininon. It's flawed, but still a lot better than most of the arcs that someone just threw together. Then you enter the final mission. One: It's a defeat all. Two: the map is maxed out with boss objectives with no dialog and an AV-class extreme custom (downgraded to Purple/Red EBs for me) that decides to run at about half health because of it's own AI with my debuff toggle on him (not because it was set to run which I first thought was a possibility). I was able to solo the purple EB with moderate difficulty, but after taking a couple of them out, I decided that the challenge was not worth the tedium, and I quit the arc.
But coming into it expecting the every possible mistake one could make, I was disappointed. It was a solid three stars - excluding the final mission, which is worth -1 star by itself. Voted 3 in game owing mostly to the fact that it half succeeded in being a bad arc. -
Quote:In my defence for not blurring the names/costumes: There's eleven servers, so that's eleven possibilities for deniability, people have many different characters, so the character name doesn't directly link to a person very easily. Unless I happen to catch a character that is someone's key main that they play constantly and have made a name for themselves using that character's name. Now globals would be another story altogether. Locals, not so much.I have to admit that you have a good point there. My only defense is that it was rather late here when I posted that.
OTOH, in my experience, very few people seem to keep their character's original costume. So few, that I've wondered if people just don't care about the "signature look" thing. I personally try to find a signature costume for my characters and many others do too, no doubt.
The issue is kind of water under the bridge now that people have posted character bios with names visible etc. And my offer to accept hatemail still stands. -

That just shows you how much damage they do *when they're at that level*. It's information, not adjustment.
If they conned green, it might be that you set the mission to be "back loaded" or "staggered" which will give you some lower leveled enemies in the front for the first option, and mixed in for the second. -
Didn't finish the arc yet because it was later than I thought, but wanted to share this pic because I thought it was funny at least:

Arc Name: The Ouroboros Initiation
Author: The Pilgrim
Arc ID#: 823
Morality: Heroic
Level Range: 25-50 / 1 / 25-50 / 25
Played at: lvl 25
How I Found it: I took the Ouroboros portal and the Pilgrim was standing right in front of me.
Today, I decide once again to take a short break from the Architect Entertainment building and try out my Ouroboros portal which I finally have a high enough level clearance to use.
So long losers!
My contact today is the Pilgrim, who tells me that he is one of the first to travel through time, which is why he chose the name Pilgrim. Although later on I'm told that Pilgrims are low ranking members of Ouroboros which is why he is the one introducing new members to Ouroboros. He tells me to go introduce myself to the other menders here in this place to let them introduce me to their version of time travel.
How does this fire keep burning while it's encased in ice?
My first stop is Mender Lazarus who doesn't seem to be quite used to the whole time travel thing, as he keeps forgetting whether or not he has met me before in the present or the past. Anyway, he sends me back in time 20 years or so with a 5 1/2 inch floppy disc to retrieve some data from a 5th council, I mean 5th column computer.1 And while I'm there, I find a handwritten note from an anonymous person warning me that the Ouroboros organization might not be as altruistic as they are making themselves out to seem.2 Although who am I to trust a mysterious letter over those who talk to me in person?
I don't think this is how you're supposed to open a crate.
My next stop is to talk with Mender Tesseract to learn about temporal scaling. She likes to use the most extreme example possible, so she sends me back to what could have been my first hero assignment had I decided to help out with it at that time: Outbreak. Being powered down to security level 1, I only have a couple powers available to use to rescue those originally tasked with cleaning up Outbreak. Luckily, I also snuck with me a revolver found during my exploits to help with the arresting.
Dueling it out with the contaminated.
Dead? Nope, still breathing.
Next up is a visit to Twilight's Son, the last Kheldian. He's from the far future and has come to warn of the coming storm. His task is for me to take out a Rikti general here in the present in order to possibly affect some change in the future timeline. So I go and meet up with Mender Lazarus inside to take out General Loc'Danan.
Finally, I pay a visit to the leader of Ouroboros, Mender Silos. He claims to be not only over one million years old, but also well past his temporal tether, or further in the past than he is supposed to be able to travel. And he sends me into the near future, where Shivans have invaded Atlas Park through a meteor crash like those in Bloody Bay.
Four stars: Recommended.
(I like this arc pretty well, and run it with most every character that I take through Ouroboros. I even got Isolator while I was in outbreak even though I'm not really badge hunting on this character. It does a good job of foreshadowing what is hopefully a story element they are finally going to get around to in regards to the coming storm.)
1 Originally a typo, but I decided to run with it.
2 I half remembered this letter, but reading it again reminds me of the device used in Crystal Blue's arc, which I think is a pretty good recreation. -
More anecdotal evidence which doesn't typically support any statistics whatsoever.
I'm a male player, and my characters are about 75% female, and most of my male characters are caricatures rather than characters. I stick with the theory that female characters are more interesting. Most of my favorite television shows and movies have a strong female protagonist. -

The Dark Watcher -1 of course. -
I saw you using 22s for your last review, so I'll toss in:
Matchstick Women #3369
One final EB without defensive powersets or ambushes.
Level range: 25-50 - all customs
Missions: 3 - two small maps, one outdoor map
Description: The smoke is rising, follow it to its source. Find the clues to understand a new cult of women arsonists, burning buildings and kidnapping young women with powers to increase their ranks. -
A couple more:
This is one of my favorites.
Check out Statesman Jr. and the rest of my album if you're interested, there's a few I can't directly post. -
If that's correct, then Golden Ace really messed his last post up. Trying my hand at correcting, hopefully I'm not messing it up more.
