Quote:I think it was more that Attack Vitals for everyone else has AS and SS, for Stalkers this isn't the case, so they loose out on 2 -Resist Procs and 2 Purple Procs in one combo. This odd... I thought Stalker's Ablating can take -defense set. Weird. I guess it does not. I know I've tested Mako damage proc in it and when it proc, it hurts everyone within Sweeping Combos' radiuis (which is what? 10' or 8'?).
I actually have not tried Dual Blade on other ATs. I thought Stalker can chain Attack Vital faster but too bad they put a little delay timer right after Vengeful so if you click Power Slice again, it doesn't que up combo.
It would be nice if you can keep doing Power, Nimble and Vengeful with no "pause".
I also think that when they increased melee range from 5' to 7', they should have increased Stalker's 1K Cut from 10' to 12' too. -
Quote:Oh yeah. I notice the difference for sure. AV just seems crappy on a Stalker, maybe due to the lack of Blinding Feint, I don't know.DB on Stalkers is all mixed up compared to other versions. It's best chain should be Attack Vitals, but you can only put one purple proc and no -res procs into that. The Scrapper version can do very well, but I'm thinking the Stalker version falls faaar behind because of the combo mix up.
So far, the best DPS I see for Stalker DB, doesn't use any combos.
And Empower, BU > AS > THEN PLACATE! Gaaaah...
Maybe if it was Placate > BU > AS, it would be a worthwhile combo (imo anyways) -
/FIRE for the Guns and Sword combo.
/EM for hard hitting melee or focus purely on blasting and little goodies.
/MM for the -Regen, Regen, End Rec, and Psychic Shockwave! You're going to get in the middle of spawns to use HoB anyways, might as well have another PBAOE to go with it! -
Dual Pistol/Ninjitsu Preatorian Epic AT (or just as a new generic Epic AT
)
Anything past that would just be awesome! -
Quote:1) Okay!1) Dominators get Illusion Control
2) HEAT's get access to Patron Pools when they go to the Redside( same ones what Tanks get)
3) More Purple Sets for those power types that currently don't have a purple
4) the ability to trade 41-50 power slots for enhancement slots(3)
5) Expanded content for Preatorians beyond 20, and the ability for Primals to become Preatorians
6) Related to the above, in one or more of the existing PvP zones, allow for a three sided conflict
7) Enhancement Consolidation - Recipes are consolidated to be leveless, a crafted IO gets its level at +3 the crafter level. If it has a min. level, the crafter has to be -3 the min. level, if it has a max level, that's the max that IO can be crafted( an IO who tops out at 40, will still be 40 if crafted by a level 50)
8) Introduce flavored Damage IO's, there would be one flavor for each damage type, when slotted, that portion of enhanced damage is of that damage type
9) Since Fitness is now an inherant, create a new Power Pool called Discipline, each power in it would be a low mag mez protection power like what Soldiers get, that is, enough to improve the quality of life of toons w/o mez protection, but not a huge deal for those already with status protection( +2 or +3 status protection would mean a whole lot more to a defender than say a tank)
2) I don't think they should get APPs, but I do think they should get PPPs.
3) I'm okay with this, don't think Purples are ALL THAT tho.
4) Could be a game changer, though most my builds want MORE POWERS
5) Praetoria is a starting zone, and it doesn't make sense to expand the levels unless they have it become a side of it's own.
6) See above. though wouldnt it be 4 sided as there are Loyalist and Resistance?
7) No. Set bonuses are based on level of the IOs used. I use IOs at level 33, so I can have the set bonuses at level 30.
8) I'd just be happy with 100% Chance for added damage type (it could be enough to equal the 33% Chance of Damage the purple procs give).
9) I'd be okay with this. -
Hmmm...I keep toying with the idea of a DB/Nin Stalker...the lack of TE however keeps me away (I just love the animation!)...but I'm curious to all this.

Figure you can get 139 DPS not counting in misses and the -Resist Procs. Which I'm thinking would end up (off the top of my head just guessing here) roughly 150 DPS.
Can't really add Empower Combo to this sadly, since Placate is the last in that chain :/
Would throwing out caltrops be detrimental to DPS, as there is redraw to consider, so it doesn't get that bonus of Electrical Melee.
This isn't terrible DPS, but with lethal resistant AVs (I say AVs as this is the only place I'd say DPS really matters) this doesn't seem to get far. :/ 40% Resist to Lethal and you're shut down from even ticking away at them.
And the others with just say 25% Resist will slow it to more of a crawl.
That said, it seems it would be better at it than my KM Stalker who couldn't get all those added procs. -
Quote:Oooo...is there a pause in the LR > Assassin Strike though?Electric is special, because LR is a "pet" and does not break hide. This means you can run your regular chain (CI>CB>JL>CB) and insert (Caltrops>BU>LR>AS) and end up getting a fully "hidden" AS. Caltrops and WS are also pets, so they don't break hide, and Buildup also does not. By the time those things are finished activating you will be back in hide without having used placate. (Can't be hit for this to work, so it helps also that nin is defense based).
While the regular part of your chain does something like ~128.5 dps with tohit clamp, purple procs, and -res proc, the bit with Lightning Rod and AS averages out to about 189 dps, not counting any damage done by Waterspout or Caltrops. That boosts your average dps by a lot or a little, depending on your recharge values.
By the way, Caltrops and Waterspout do generally good DPA if we were allowed to include them.
Caltrops>BU>LR seems like it would be less than 8 seconds time...or is it that's just enough time for you to be hidden while animating AS? -
Quote:I'm not saying knowing them isn't bad. But it also assumes every combo of Brutes is going to take the Soul Mastery PPP.Adding Gloom as a standard to Brute's top attack chains is fine by me. Adding stuff like Caltrops and Water Spout is where things get tricky as you have to calculate their recharge, duration, and effects properly.
As for BU, I just add a flat 30% damage bonus.
Same as adding in Caltrops to Electric Melee, as it assumes everyone is /Nin.
Sticking to the Primary (even if adding IOs) is a good way to go "This is what to expect if you don't have a few of these *shows list* tricks to add to it" -
-
Quote:One could use LR, but that would vary from build to build, based on how much recharge one has in LR and in global set bonuses.Right, except they serve a special function in the Electric Melee chain, so I can't. We could just pretend the damage they contribute does not exist if that helps.
It wouldn't be a regular part of the ST DPS string.
My list also just kept to what those Primaries could do amongst themselves. Adding in epic attacks is like assuming all Brutes will use Gloom for the OMGAWESOMESAUCE of it. -
Quote:I'm curious on this.Actually, Electric Melee's chain gets really complicated, and even more so if you use the special trick with /nin, but that increases its dps dramatically.
With nin, it will end up being more like this:
Waterspout or Caltrops->BU->LR->AS->(Repeat CI->CB->JL->CB until others recharge) {Notice no placate}
Why would you use Assassin Strike, without being hidden? Is it's DPS that much better without the hidden status?
Does Caltrops really add that much to one's DPS?
LR I would think would eat the end, but if one can do the targeting fast, then yeah adding in LS when it recharged would be great DPS. -
Quote:Not off hand, as Mids numbers are a bit off...my guess would be to just go with...Any chance you happen to know one that includes blaze mastery? I'm having trouble deciding what to drop on sp/da/blaze while keeping fireball in, which is the current plan. My guess is swapping impale for the blast, but impale is so much fun despite the slow pitch/long activation.
Impale > Ripper > Throw Spines > Fire Blast > Repeat which my guess would likely be around maybe even a bit better DPS.
Maybe replacing Throw Spines with Fire Blast, as FB might have better DPS (I'll have to go back and check).
But the 4 attack chain would require less +RCH.
As to what to drop for all this, I'd have to see your current build to give a really good idea of what to drop where to move slots....ect...ect -
Quote:Wouldn't playing the builds that are known powerhouses, be considered the right thing to do in a PvP SG?ya ok i thought i said looking for sg not looking for noob to tell me grammar mistakes and bunch of things that makes no sense thanks anyway but u need to get a helicopter and fly in2 a tree holla back
When I venture my way into a PvP zone, I use a DB/WP Scrapper (with a concept build) that is just terrible in PvP.
If I was a dedicated, hardcore PvPer, this would be one of the last builds I'd suggest to take into a PvP zone.
So, using those easymode builds as you call them, there is a reason for it. They want to win. -

Quote:I agree with #1. I think Stalkers should just BOOM CRIT when coming out of hide. No matter the attack.I wouldn't normally bother posting this and don't even think it that balanced but since it wasn't changed in a recent update even though it would require a simple change in values...but since it was left alone...
1. Change all AoEs to 100% criticals from hide. When the devs had Kinetic Melee under their thumb, they changed Concentrated Strike to 100% crit from hidden but left the 100% crit on Burst alone. Makes no sense to me that this wasn't changed to 50% just like every AoE, so might as well add the same thing to every other AoE for Stalkers. I think Fire Ball does the same thing.
2. Like the OP said, scaling double crit on ST attacks. We already have a chance to 'double crit' with out base chance + placate/hide. Now just up this chance so that double criting with ST attacks is a reasonable occurrence. Why? Well making AoEs 100% crits really eats into the utility of criting with ST attacks so adjusting it to keep somewhat similar separation like we do now is what this is for.
3. Attacks that do not crit, add something to them. Mainly just Energy Transfer and Total Focus. It's alright that LR doesn't crit, it also doesn't drop hide so that's something...ET simply doesn't take HP off and TF only partially crits. If the other ST attacks are 'double critting' some functionality needs to be added to them. Adding more crit chance by landing a successful ET/TF/ect. just like Scrapper Eagle's Claw would be what I'm thinking of.
The problem with this, is it really isn't a fix to Stalkers as some stalkers lack any AOE what's so ever. I consider this to just be something that always should have been.
Though here's an idea for the unresistable crit. But I'm not to sure if it's even possible to do with game mechanics, or if it would be a coding nightmare...ect...ect...
When rolling for tohit chance with Assassin Strike, if it succeeds, it first applies a -Resist to the target (how big of a -resist, I don't know what would be considered game breaking and what wouldn't, but I'm thinking more than 20%) for 1-3 seconds THEN applies the damage to the target.
That way the Assassin Strike isn't so resisted.
Again, not sure if it's even possible.
Personally, I'm okay with the HP cap, the low HP hasn't bothered me any when playign Stalkers, however, I wouldn't mind a boost to the cap just to stop all those +HP set bonuses not go to so much waste on some of the Stalker combos.
I'd love to see an increase to the damage mod, but I figure that's out, but a thought occurs to me, would shaving off .5 seconds of Placate's animation, do anything for Stalkers? -
Quote:Well, I thought I mentioned that.Purple Procs and -Res procs throw off BrandX's list a bit if you use them; I'll to calculate some later tonight.

Or at least when mentioning how Ninja Blade and Dual Blades can slot both -Resist and Two Purple Procs, though NB is already ahead of DB in DPS, however, DB has better AOE in it's chain.
Sadly, I just don't know how to account for that in the +DPS department.
My guess would be NB can pull ahead of the others in DPS on paper, but likely fall short with so much Lethal Resistance out there.
Dark Melee on the other hand has a lot of Negative Energy to go along with it's smashing damage, so has less to worry about when it comes to enemy resists.
Dual Blades is close enough to Kinetic Melee in DPS (at least with the chain I have used) that I figure it can bypass Kinetic Melee with Procs involved and stay ahead of it, but then KM does have Build Up use more often.
Claws for Stalkers sadly doesn't get the 2nd -Resist proc, as Eviserate isn't a Cone for stalkers. And Claws as a set seems built around Follow Up, which of course Stalker Claws lacks.
Though Siolfir seems to have run the numbers as well, and doesn't have Ninja Blade in the top 3, perhaps they didn't account for Procs either or maybe the Procs don't move up SB as much as I think it would.
Personally, my real problem with the sets (though I think Stalkers need a buff to damage) isn't their DPS, but that they've lost some of the cool attacks!
Dual Blades with no Typhoon's Edge?! I'd rather have TE than 1k Cuts! It's just that awesome of an animation to me!
Same with NB's lack of Lotus Drops and MA's lack of Dragon's Tail.
Energy Melee, I wish dropped Stun and had Whirling Hands instead, as I personally love WH's animation.
Basically, the AOE attacks are some of the fun animating ones! -
While I haven't done Broadsword yet...here's a list of the best ST DPS chains I could find for all the sets. The numbers are all using 3 generic lvl 50 IOs worth of damage, and no procs.
So, Ninja Blade may move up the DPS list if one considers it can slot two different -Resist Procs as well as slot 2 Purple IO Procs, versus the other sets.
This also doesn't include getting an Assassin Strike off everytime you can pop Placate + AS. But in my experience, where DPS matters, that's not an easy feet and I tended to waste more END than anything, unless I Placated then waited, which defeats the whole purpose of the big attack for DPS. :/
If there's better DPS chains out there, I'd be glad to hear them, these were just the ones I could find/figure out.
Dual Blades is also another set that with it's DPS chain can slot 2 -resist procs. So, obviously it can move up the DPS list as well.
None of these DPS take into account the use of Build Up either. Though the only ones that should be a bit higher due to the use of Build Up, is Kinetic Melee and Claws (Insta recharge on CS crit, and lower Recharge on Claws).

I'd rather have a flat chested female build myself. And that itself may cause problems with animations.
But yeah. they'd have to go about reworking every costume piece, every power set. I'm not against the idea, but I just don't see it happening, and really would prefere the time spent on something more appealing to the general masses. -

I've never seen someone posing who wasn't on the team that completed their teams task first.
Now, one could go help the other team, and that's what I tend to do, but when they're down to one left when our team has 10 already, my help isnt much more than me trying to find them. -

Quote:I think one of the things it has going for it, is Vin Diesel VS Dwayne Johnson. The New York Times actually gave it a good review.
Well, they basically intimated, that as far as cinematic arts go, its pure refuse. But so is a hot dog with all the works, and yet, we all enjoy one now and then.
These are two muscled action stars going at it, something that's been lacking from action movies for awhile.
I do get the feeling they downplay Brian O'Conner in the films, but everyone loves Dom more.
It's a fun action movie, worth the viewing for those who like action movies. -

So went to a first showing of Fast Five. 12:25pm showing and the theatre was half filled. Pretty good showing for a non showing imo.
And I don't think anyone was let down! Even had a suprise at the end I wasn't expecting by way of a scene involving a character from a previous film, that I wasn't expecting to see in the movie!
So yes, if you see it, remember there's a scene during the credits (but before the actual credit roll). -
Quote:Well the using of a 0 is just lame.howabout making it Samaritian.<--period or Samaritian or Sam Aritian?

Most people prefere not to use a period in the name unless it's for a double of their toon, at least the RPers tend to be more geared that way.
But if you're going to suggest things like that...
S A M A R I T I A N
SAMARlTlAN
...also work (note the lower case L's int he second one)

I just thought it would also be helpful to have a ranking with the various procs that could make a big difference.
