    Only 1 ACC?

I find that 2 Acc IO's is right for my play style, there is so many things in the game that hit you with -ACC or have +Def like CoT, Paragons, BP Shaman , Tsoo Sorcs and I really hate wiff wiff wiff. Also, even if you play at Heroic most of the time you still might do the occasional TF which can be up to +3 depending on what level you are.

mercs need an overhaul. at least traps will let you do more dmg and give you more control. achille's heel proc in acid mortar plus a few in your pets is a rather powerful amount of resist debuffing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really dont understand this comment, are you speaking from number crunching or from game use?

I have a 50 mercs, 47 Thugs, 44 Robots and 43 Necro. I find mercs are as good ( in their own way ) as each of my other MM's, in fact I find it easier to solo AV's with them as they stay put when I tell them to now the Medic is fixed, not like Arsonist or Prot bot melee idiocy.

There has been multiple posts in the last 3 years comparing each and several people have proven with extensive testing that mercs damage is not that different from the others, its because they are 90% DoT and people see all the little numbers they think their damage sucks.

I actually have the most Fun on my Mercs/Dark and at no time have felt inferior.

    [/ QUOTE ]

in game experience. mercs doesnt hold it's own.

pets running off? thugs do so much more damage than mercs and anyone with /traps or /ff can softcap every single pet it matters little. and with my playstyle of keeping everything toghether and under an ffg or dispersion bubble or close for twilight grasp/aoe heals, things running into melee isnt a big deal - even vs. nasty av's with nastier aoe's.

    mercs needs an overhaul

    [/ QUOTE ]

So much more damage, are you kidding? Are you talking arsonist or all Thugs? If you think its all Thugs then that is totally false. This type of blind stereotyping of Mercs damage died after CoH put the "info" button on all powers. I can tell you for a fact that Mercs and Thugs damage are failrly close if you add up all the listed damge under info ( including recharge)

Easy way for you to check is to take your Thugs and Mercs in game and r-click on each pet , click info and slide the slider to 50, then review each powers damage. Add them all up and compare. I did , they are roughly the same....do you even have both to compare?

  5. I have gone through several build posts and I always see them with Smite, wouldn't it be better to take Shadow Punch for Fury? Or even both Shadow Punch and Smite instead of Shadow Maul and its long activation?

Shadow Punch , Smite , Siphon Life ..... Shadow Punch , Smite, Midnight Grasp

    Seems more Viable after slotting
  6. Now if they would only come out with a current offline tailor shop program so I didn't have to log into the game to try different costume ideas. Heck they save to your HD now, why cant I make them offline then upload them
  7. I can bring a crock pot for all the bunnies!
  8. You want to 5 or 6 slot shields and AoE attacks for IO set bonuses, in Fire/Fire its all about bonuses to prop up lack of secondary defense like invincibility or Rise to the Challenge. We dont have any other mitigation other than a 45% resist slotted so you want to heavily stack IO's positional defense.

In my example you can see all my attacks and Def shields are 6 slotted and my Res shields are 5 slotted to get the IO Def bonus for Red Fortune, Multi Strike, Mako and Reactive sets. This gives me a 20% defense to most damage types and with Tough I have a 70% resist.

With your setup you will die in large TF fights plain and simple, I know because in some large fights I have come very close ( yay for 14 second Healing Flames ) and I have way more defense slots in my build that yours.
  9. If you want me I would love to Hess run again. I can bring Scrapper, Tank or Controller...Whatever you like.

wp has a mix bag in its surviveability, it can hit very decent levels of regen but only when surrounded by hostiles, which in and of itself is a double edged sword, it gains abit of resists and +HP as'well as some damage type defence, but lacks any type of active heal power, in short, it's kind'a like a jack-of-all-trades and master of none, it is more passive play style friendly

    [/ QUOTE ]

Slightly wrong, WP gains medium resists and Def not small. Fully slotted they have 33% S/L and Psi resist and 12% Psi and 15.5% E/Ne/F/C Def. Combine this with 550% regen for 1 target and 1000% for 10 targets and you have a very well rounded defense.

Also, add Tough and weave and you get 50% Resist, 20% def to elements even before IO's , you are a mini tanker.
  11. This is my basic build, I tanked ITF last night with no deaths. With 20+ of them beating on me I was taking some damage but with Healing flames down to 14s recharge and 26% melee defense it wasn't fast enough to drop me.

It uses fairly cheap Multi-Strikes, Reactive Armor, Red Fortunes and Titanium Coatings. I think the whole thing cost me less than 20 mil ( plus the cost of special ones like Numina's Regen and Zephr for knockback which I gambled for at the Merit vender)

I run Zephr, Steadfast and Karma knockback protection and with a -12 resistance I have yet to be knocked on my can.

I realize if I am going to use vent in the future, I need to change my @global back to something normal, I forgot people like to shorten names to the first part or last part of your name. I do not want to be known as a male appendage or a potato snack.

Edit: Changed it! My old nick from school......Weird it was taken 5 years ago when I signed up

Hi, it's Vince with Shamwow! You'll be saying wow every time you use this towel! It's like a chamois! It's like a towel! It's like a sponge. A regular towel doesn't work wet - this works wet or dry. This is for the house, the car, the boat, the RV! Shamwow holds twenty times its weight in liquid. Look at this! It just does the work! Why do you want to work twice as hard? It doesn't drip, doesn't make a mess. You wring it out, wash it in the washing machine. It is made in Germany, you know the Germans always make good stuff. You can cut it in half, use one as a bath mat, drain your dishes with the other one, use one as a towel. Olympic divers, they use it as a towel. Look at that! Completely dry! Put a wet sweater, roll it up, it dries your sweaters. Here's some cola, wine, coffee and pet stains. Not only is the damage gonna be on top - there's your mildew. That is going to smell! See that? The most absorbing We're gonna do this in real time! Look at this! Put it on the spill, turn it over! Without even putting any pressure, fifty percent of the cola right there. You follow me, camera guy? The other fifty percent, the color starts to come up.
No other towel's gonna do that! It acts like a vacuum! And look at this - virtually dry on the bottom! See what I'm telling ya? Shamwow! You'll be saying wow every time!

    Question on /Wp

    30%+ base Def in most

This is my basic build that I am currently starting with , it has Multi-Strike , Reactive, Red Fortunes and a few Mako. It cost me less than 10 mill for most of it ( Minus the Mako's ), so its a good base to start with.

I will then start to add expensive stuff to bring it up from 35% Def, Also the melee / lethal Def listed is with only 1 DA so you can soft cap that easy with 2 stacked.

The Regen listed is against a single opponent, it’s 1003% against 10. Jumping into the middle of large spawns like in TF’s is super fun with this build and I have never once felt crunchy or fragile.
