  2. Hmm tough question...!

    So many combos which are nice/good/interesting; it all depending on your playstyle i'd say. In general trollers are the most demanding and interesting AT's requiring the most skills to play well.
    I'm a controller addict as many can confirm and I've played many trollers sets in different combos's to more or lesser extend. But to name a few which I think are good fun:

    -earth/storm (really different from mind/storm)
    -earth/rad
    -earth/TA
    -fire/kin
    -fire/storm (underrated)
    -fire/rad
    -ill/kin
    -mind/TA (haven't played this yet and only seen one being a lowbie sg member, but i think it would make a really interesting combo)
    -ice/kin (goin for melee kind with AA of ice set if you like that style)
    -and many more...

    BTW TA is a bit gimped, but better then most ppl think and a fun set imo. Emp as secondary doesn't seem to work for me. Also i'm more of a classic controller focussing on safeguarding the team instead of doing damage, although currently im playing a fire/kin a lot and it's pure thrilling damage dealing insanity!! Hotfeet + fulcrum + imps and depending what epics...

    Earth is my favorite primary and kin my favorite secondary. Kin seems to be the set du jour nowadays anyway. A while back there weren't many kineticists and now paragon city is crawling with kinsmen, especially defs. Which i think many people are happy with btw

    If you want my opinion on why these combo's. Just PM me and i'd be happy to provide you some more detailed info from my experience.

    Debuffs from RAD and/or DARK def will mitigate loads of incoming damage and prevent most deaths. And they heal ( to a lesser extend) too. Dark being my personal favo. BTW twilight grasp has very good heal values for if thats needed, while debuffing regen, dam and accu a little as well.

    Excellent work BTW folks (peril,white apocolypse, buff,volcainus,intellect). We did it superfast, and even without an emp i think only death being me in a n00bish silly action to "stealth" to sgt clayton-i have no stealth power - in fact i meant to skid past the mobs, but they smelled me i guess and like 25 of them uglies took a dive at me

    K, so far we have:
    -kin troller lvl 33 (me), maybe 34 before tonights trial
    -exemped scrapper by deathbadger
    -def lvl 28 by Warengine
    -tank (preferably if you could lvl 28 by Empath

    Don't want a too big a team for this, but 2 more or so are welcome so we can have a nice sextet.

  9. Damn right! That titan was real easy chow. I didn't take one ambrosia and i don't think anyone else had time to pop on seeing how fast he went down. Except for some initial probs with the first wall all went smooth and without any deaths if i remember well- excluding dark spider faceplanting on many multiple kamikaze actions to work on his debt badges . Thnx all!

    ?? With all respect that doesn't make any sense: a part of the buff (mezz release) will take effect, but another part (resistance buff) not?
    Also i have played 2 kin trollers intensively beyond lvl 45 and with neither of them I have I ever been able to remove a sleep with ID in all those lvls .
    Maybe a little trick no one knows kin DEFENDERS can do on those special occasions?

    Sleeps are removed by attacks landing on someone. The same is true for ID, it cancels the sleep but doesn't actually provide any resistance to sleep effects.

    At least, that is what happened when I levelled up my Controller in I4. I'm not aware that it's been changed though.

    ID does not work on a traget who is tesla caged, which is classed as a sleep. Simplest way is to heal the target

    Like X says. And true sleeps are broken by attacks, but ID is not an attack, its a buff from a non-enemy. As such it doesn't break sleep, and doesn't provided resitance to it in anyway. That goes for Tesla cage as for all other sleeps.

    Fully agree with statboy here.
    I prefer the sj pool over inertial and especially not take them both. CJ and acro are really worth it. They provide the much needed status protection.

    And in addition i'd suggest to ad the second accu in siph speed because it has a rather long recharge so you don't want it to miss. Maybe add a second accu in siph power too if you can spare the slot.
  17. Acrobatics isnt so bad for a kin. You'll be spending a lot of time in melee because of your mob centered powers, so that hold resistance and maybe more so knockback protection is a very good thing to have

    If you wanna go PvP don't respec out stam. PvP is going so fast that you can't rely too much on transference to replenish your end. Foes are running al over the place, you ( not with acro ) or them are being knocked back, etc. Also you'll find that transference even when running 3 slotted tactics and 2 accu in trans will miss quite a few times at the times you really need it... And you have 2 leadership toggles running which consume a fair amount of end. Not to mention that siphon speed combined with hasten makes you attack so fast that you'll be racing through your end anyways.

    PvE wise i'd say you could get away without stam, although it needs getting used too. When i first removed stam from my mind/kin troller i had a hard time, kin is pretty end heavy in big teams when you keep the buffs up, but now im fine with it. Just gotta keep a keen eye on which enemy to target for transference.

    For the rest i agree with G force on this:
    -ditch the runspeed from siphon speed, it's fast already and once stacked you'll be super super fast
    -fulcrum absolutely wants 3 recharge. Then again you might consider not not to take fulcrum if you wanna go pure pvp. To truly realise its potential you need to have a lot of mobs closely packed together and with you being close to them -again fast moving foes in PvP undermine this aspect- so this is tough in PvP. But to be honest a kin without fulcrum is no true kin

    I might be bringing another alt too. I dont like my fire/kin troller at the moment and either gonna delete him or maybe rebuild. Also got a plan for another troller, which i'll hopefully get to at least lvl 10 before we gonna pay our tribute to posi sunday.

    Not untrue indeed, good pet management is a skill that is hard to come by and with ill it's even more important then other troller sets. But still the set lacks real controlling aspects like immos, disorients, knock up/back (apart from the pets ofcourse, but unfortunately you cant control that ), slows, -fly, etc like the other sets do and also it lacks nice secondary effects like ice has -slow/recharge for example or earth -def .
    PA and Phant are quite uncontrollable even if you choose wisely how and when you use them. I don't go running about with Phantie out all the time as he is bound to cause some unwanted agro (OMG Energy torrent!! ) when i'm trying to take tactical position or run around a map.
    But fair is fair; deceive is an excellent control tool!
    I really liked my ill troller, but it evidently requires a different approach then the usual troller. Btw earth is my favorite troller set! Or was it mind? Nah, its earth

    Nice way of putting it Nightbringer. Must sound interesting to a lot of ppl, except tricky is that a fire/kin has little damage mitigation and lacks the defense that tankers have....so skills are very needed indeed
    btw i put firecages first and then flashfire, gives you a fair bit more of damage that way

    Having both SB and ID can be pretty busy indeed when in large teams. But ID provides great resistance to energy and smash damage and some excellent knockback protection. The short duration is a known issue, so i tend to use it pro- actively only on the the squishie blasters/trollers/defs who generally lack knockback protection and sometimes include scraps to give m that extra edge when facing a tough crowd. Other then that it's used mostly to protect from mezzes.
    I think its a very valuable power for a kin, you're the only one apart from emps -and the rare sonics- who can do that to your team mates and in this case your squishie imps...
