Phil mentioned names a few posts up
Dragons Embrace (aftermath) and Rescuer (far seer) won.
They did a good job in using what they had at their disposal -as bitter didn't fail to noticePoor man, at times i felt so sorry for you that i was wishing i could crawl out of my flying camera saucer and let you out of your cage
Although with their uber mighty cage as well used keypower, they played damn good imo with excellent timing and as said the emping was remarkable indeed. *Tips hat to rescuer* -

What happened? I d/c'd at the beginning of my second match and couldn't get back online!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't worry Jum, I was called on to sub in for you and picked up 5 kills - wasn't enough to keep Neo going through the tournie, sadly.(But let's face it, it's more than you'd have got.
)
[ QUOTE ]
As for caging, yes their annoying but to keep them going constantly and to a high standard for I think 9 fights, all lasting 30 minutes to one hour long.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's really nothing difficult about clicking one essentially autohit power (anything that punches through PB'd Fort might as well be autohit) against one of two opponents every minute or so. Trying to keep your teammate ID'd and SB'd between cages after he ran out of BFs - that takes some effort. There's nothing "high-standard" about it either - if anything, it reflects badly on the rest of the tournament which displayed a VERY high level of PvP. For what was a mediocre-at-best team (in all fairness) to win the tournament off the back of one power is a little sad, especially given the competition that was there.
[ QUOTE ]
Yes...can we please bring 2*AT teams and NO cage.
[/ QUOTE ]
Completely in agreement, the Cage can't stay in a 2v2 environment. It's gone from being a power used well by support characters (like Decibellion, etc.) to being a "key" power (for some people) that demands support characters to feed it, which really slows down the fun and pace of the event. Looking forward to 2*AT teams in the future too.
[ QUOTE ]
I like cages, and they are just as fair as any other power imo
[/ QUOTE ]
Just as fair as all the other near-autohit powers that can be made perma on one person, amirite? I don't believe there's a place for cages in a 2v2 environment - all that ended up happening last night was one team essentially admitting they couldn't take people in a fair 2v2, and having to make it 2v1 to even stand a chance. No idea how the other guys fared after I left, but I know Shaman (who I subbed in with) played an absolute bloody blinder of a 43 minute 5-man domination match in which I got to actually participate in for all of about 5 minutes - although in those 5 minutes I picked up 3 kills, Emp buffs, Fire Imps and my PvE build be damned - and then it was back in the cage until everyone watching got bored to tears and wished for God to nuke Test to spare us all the agony of having to play on against such a [censored] "tactic". Is it "fair" to use powers in the best/only way you know how? Maybe. It certainly doesn't make for good PvP though, and I'm damned certain it doesn't make for good PvPers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think such massive moaning is not gonna make anyone feel better.
Things are just the way they are and we'll have to deal with it. That's the way it is. Same applies to cages.
Admittedly the caging was very nasty indeed and i can agree it should be looked into seeing in this setting it was a bit overpowered. But it's happened now and lesson learned... And as KS has stated it will be dealt with in future tournies. In that aspect we're also curious about your partners ideas
Just try and show some respect for those make good use of what they have (come up with) to effective result and enlighten us with a positive attitude for all of us to stay in good spirits -

Big thanks to Syn2 and Coldfront for providing my most interesting match of the night.
Lasted no longer than 20 minutes and the final score was 10-9 to The Children of Arioch.

Was an interesting good match indeed. You should have won though... -
Excellent night! Seen some high standard PvP indeed. Hope there will be one soon again and that I'll be joining in the fights myself
Thanks all for putting up good shows and for the laughs. And ofcourse thanks to KS for organising it.
P.S. The last words about caging aren't said yet -
Silver Slugs are out.
Very unfortunately me and melon be cant bring up a team for tonight due to melon suddenly has to work.
Have fun all -
Welcome back!
Dark/dark is very nice imo. Just as is fire/rad and fire/kin. Of which the latter is more of a late bloomer.
Just a matter of personal taste which you'll like most. And if you are (remembering) having fun with it now... -
ZOMG! sonic totally owns at these low lvls in a small FFA- only 3 peeps. That sonic/cold of yours totally ripped apart my ice/cold at lvl 5.
Never expected it to be so nasty. Even with your recharge almost reduced to zero by infrig + snowstorm + the -rech from ice blasts the dps of sonic totally overruled ice blast...
On another note: there were only 3 ppl at the crime scene. Where was the rest? Was it because many can't get on test? In that case we might have to transfer it back to live, although that very seriously limiting trying out various builds for some ( me) as for little or no slots available.
Hope to see more folks next time! -
Hey Barnhinho,
First of all welcome to Paragon City and these boards
The powers are already given a fast run through, so I'm pick out a few things:
As already stated FUN is obviously your first and foremost motivator to play and play how you want, although when teaming imo you have to take into consideration what fun means for the whole team...
-Repel is one of those powers which is very situational and not that efficient. Costs loads of endurance and can very easily knock them mobs back which a team in general don't like, except if you know exactly what you are doing. Maybe fun and a bit more useful in the early lvls, but you're bound to respect (means you can alter your power choices) it out eventually to make room for a more useful power.
-Kin(etic) users need to be in the frontlines for the biggest part of the fight to perform at their best considering the melee nature of their powers. Especially for kin some kind of Knock Back (KB) protection is very very handy to keep you up your feet and personally i would never go without it on a kin.
Acro(batics) from the leaping pool is simply the best option also providing you with hold protection. Hover is a 'ghetto' KB protection inferior to acro. It's rather slow and doesn't offer full KB protection nor hold protection. Ofcourse you have siph speed to speed it up, but that's not 100% reliable to hit. Make your choice.
And as far as the wings go for fly... You will only be able to get wings after 15 months of subscription
-PvP = player versus player and PvE = player versus (computer)enemy
-Mind/ can do some very decent damage when played well
-I(increase) D(entity) is a many times overlooked and undervalued, but very good power. Not a must have, but seriously consider it even though many ppl don't take it. The mezz protection is it's main feature obviously, but the KB protection shouldn't be taken lightly and the big smash/energy dam resistance it offers is nice too. Very good power to offer support to squishies in your team.
Have fun! -
I love it: a dedicated corr lover!
Why don't you useinstead of

Corrs (and domi's ofcourse) are way cool!!

A live without stam would make a very tough living for a fire/kin. I did without stam on my mind/kin, but it has been pretty hard at times. My fire/kin surely couldn't have had a decent live without stam.
Talking about travel a /kin works best when you have acro meaning you take leaping pool or maybe fly for hover, but that's slow and offers no mezz protection.
And as far as pulling goes /rad is a way better puller then /kin. RI beats siph power by miles.

That a second signup in disguise xanthus?
-
LOL. Looks good on you Jum, will prolly do good to make ze frensj believe you're one of them (sort of inherent specialised confuse power)
Make sure though you wear that outfit in the tourni or they might have a chance to make you squash their grapes with your bare feet and play petanque with your own .... -
French?!?! TEH french are coming!! Where?? *Takes out a baguette, béret, hides a peau de banane behind his back and starts chanting in a mix of Thai/Portuguese/Greek/Esperanto*

I was thinking exactly the same thing... so plz elaborate lexce

It was good fun last night folks. * Looks at all the bruises and scratches

As far as I understand Meglomaniac doubles the duration not the magnitude?
I'd be interested to know if it affects magnitude too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not magnitude, just duration is correct indeed. Same way PB works. -
I've been fiddling with Domi's for PvP.
Now i'm wondering wether domination hits through a (powerboosted) CM? And stacked CM?
Anyone can tell me about his experiences? -

[/ QUOTE ]
LMAO. no point here really and a waste of breath -
Hmmm, good point. Even got me doubting for a sec
Truely loved my earth/ta all the way, but /storm offers better control for my taste though. Long activation and recharge being bit of handicap of TA. Still /TA was prolly most fun i've played
