It's an honest question. You did not read the sentence in my opinion that stated why I felt the rewards were worth it. When I pointed out the sentence that you seemed to have missed, you said the statement had little value. As if you did not comprehend that entire statement was my opinion. So, I am left to wonder if I am talking over your head. I am used to discussing things in college philosophy courses, and sometimes it takes me a while to realize it when I am dealing with people who do not communicate at that level. I am sorry if you found this insulting. Yet you seem to ignore all of the actual factual statements I have made about this discussion You have completely discounted my opinion as invalid in order to make the point that your calling me a hypocrite was justified. Now you are accusing me of insulting you when I am trying to figure out how you cannot understand the words I am typing. I really do not have any more time for this conversation. I am sorry if I insulted you. Have a good day.
  3. It sounds like it would collect great research data. Soloing to 50 the slow way on a Blaster with no cash? also sounds like someone needs to give me about 12 Purples at the end of it.

It was going really slowly with a lot of deaths and a few team wipes, as the original Posi TF was apt to do, well, I guess two more players had had enough about an hour and a half into it and they quit. Some of these players made excuses and some didn't, but now we were down to four.

We discussed giving up, but decided not to. At least three of us did because 15 minutes later the fifth player quit. Oddly enough, that seemed to be some sort of tipping point because from then on, the missions went much more quickly and smoothly with fewer deaths and no complete wipes.

Anyway, my point is, it depends on who is quiting the TF - if it's a somebody who doesn't know what they are doing, or is just a bad player, having them quit can actually speed up the TF for everyone else!
Oh. this reminds me of the best/worst TF I ever did lol. The old Posi. I was on a Blaster. I Blast somewhat poorly know, this was some years ago, and I was horrid. The team was struggling, it was taking forever. We lost one or two, then a third. Last mission, at the start, the rest quit, en masse. I really, really wanted that badge lol. I fought each group, pulling and Blasting like a maniac. Faceplanted a couple times, less than I thought I would. slowly i killed them all lol. One hour or so later, I took the vator up to the last fight. Thank the powers for that vator. Build up SNIPE, duck down the vator. Repeat 10 times. The EB dies. (No AV in the old Posi heh). Took me almost 2 hours on that last mission, but I got the badge lol. Maybe that experience is why I posted this. I really really hate people quitting TFs.

I believe in calling a spade a spade. I am sorry if that hurts your feelings.
Hmm. Let me see if I understand this. You called me a hypocrite, and I pointed out a very clear statement I made that invalidated any reason for you calling me a hypocrite.

I gather from the paragraph above that you do not agree with my logic about the rewards/time metric, so you say "the difference is not that large". this basically frees you up to invalidate my opinion and still stand by you calling me a hypocrite.

In lofty Olde Englishe "Philippus aunswered, that the Macedonians wer feloes of no fyne witte in their termes but altogether grosse, clubbyshe, and rusticall, as they whiche had not the witte to calle a spade by any other name then a spade."

The Oxford English Dictionary records a more forceful variant, "to call a spade a bloody shovel", attested since 1919.

But what you have done is bend all the tines on my pitchfork together and called it a shovel. And that is just wrong. My opinion is valid, it is different than yours. But do not invalidate my opinion and then call me a hypocrite because you do not think my opinion matters. It is uncouth, and uncool. And more importantly, it ain't a bloody shovel.
  7. You can find the Rogue Arachnos Blueside. So many VEATs there I am constantly amazed. Except I'm not, since I'm mostly a redside Vet transplanted for more teaming ops.

I hate to have to quote myself. I realize it was not a three sentence post, but I very clearly stated why I believe that aside from the story and quality of the Underground Trial, the Rewards are commensurate to the time invested. I am sorry if this was unclear to you.

PS, Do not call people names like hypocrite. Especially me. Thank you.

This would be a quality of life improvement that would go so far. I can see the difficulties. But I see so many possibilities to. My personal version of Venture Bros' Monarch. (Completely different of course. But there is no match for a crazy mastermind with matching minion uniforms. The Riddler, The Penguin, The Monarch, the list goes on, and I could be rolling masterminds for a year lol.)

I LOVE the Underground Trial. Although, yes, it takes an hour and a half or longer. It is very well written. It is challenging. It has variation. It fits the story very well.

Compare it to TPN. Repetitive. Then there is the problem with TPN repetitiveness. But I think what really bothers me about the TPN is the repetitiveness. Seriously though, with TPN you run from one building to another ad infinitum. I always think the Benny Hill theme song should be playing. Bldg, bldg, bldg, fight AV, bldg, bldg, bldg, blfgdh, Fight AV, fgh sdfg sdfg fgght AV. Then there is the TPN glitch that kicks leagues. The two cheat mechanics of flooring everyone's defense and a thousand foot unresistable random boot to the head are really masterstrokes of incompetence. It was like the writer woke up after a 3 week drunk. Huh, this is due tomorrow, but it looks like I just have an idea for one bldg fight and the AV picked. Huh, okay, i'll just repeat the bldg fight 20 times and have them fight the AV a few times. I don't know how Bob got those pink patches, so I'll just floor everyones defense and blame it on psychics. And I'll just randomly kill a league members randomly and blame it on the AV. Cool, done in less than 3 hours. I'm going to get another bottle.

The Underground Trial is very well written, with variation in the journey that takes you from the surface to deep into the depths of the world. There is a logical progression of it, with a smart league the challenges are difficult but not overwhelming. I got all but one badge (killing the AV at the end in the right time window) on my first run through it. There is no glitch that kicks leagues. There is a guarantee of a Rare or Very Rare at the end. It is a fair return for a fair time investment.

Sure, if I have less than an hour, BAF or LAM. But if the league even looks like it might be dialed in I'll jump onto a Underground. The TPN? Only if I have tons of time and have done every other trial for the day. or a friend is leading it and I want to lend a hand. Gotta support your channel mates after all.
  12. I think what shocked me was I have been doing this TF at 1:30 pretty regular. I'm not joking, although looking back it seems like a string of miracles. Mondays was 2 hours in and not even at Bertha yet. Tuesdays was over an hour in to complete 4 missions plus the clock hunt. Last night I led, and completed one. 2 of the team was personal friends, 5 PUG. 2:30. We would have been done at 2:20, but somebody dropped in in the last mission. We waited 10 min to see if they would log back on.

This is a TF I tend to do as soon as possible, but these times just seem horrid long to me now. Not sure what has changed.

    Anyways, thanks for the insights.

Uh huh, that explains some glitches I've had. My main is a Elec/Elec Scrapper. From time to time LR will not fire. My DPS drops to zero as I try to get the circle to land where I want it. I was thinking the comp was having problems targeting the area, not that I might be on an "uneven surface" In fact, one reason (of many0 I have been resisting making a Archery Blaster is the last power is a "Pet" and i have not loved that on Elec. Thx for the insight.

  15. I hate it. I hate when someone drops a Task Force. If you dont have time, don't join. Sure, real life can happen. But we all know people drop for things besides emergencies.

So I feel really bad. I have dropped from two Synapse's in a row, one Monday night, one Tuesday night. Monday night I joined one, not realizing what time it was. I stayed on until 12:30 am, and just couldn't anymore. I work, workout, etc. It was two hours past my preferred bedtime and we had five missions to go. Last night I joined one at about 9:15. i22, and I'm jumping onto a Synapse lol. I was clear at the outset, I did not have 3 hours, I had two max. At 10:45 we had completed five missions. The team makeup was one unbalanced Brute, TW/Invul. His/her end bar was nonexistent, i kept dropping Blues on him for an hour and it seemed to have no effect. The other 6 were 5 controllers and a dominator. I was Blasting. To make it worse there was very little herding/efficiency. Anytime I got a couple purps I would jump in and herd/blap, even though I am specifically built for range.

the question. What is the polite way to drop from a TF? Is there one? Tuesday night I was still talking to them about team make up and the projected 3 hour time I suspected based on my sewer runs on all dom/troller teams (i22...) and the leader hit start. He was sure we could do it in 1:30. It really irks me, it's a point of pride I finish all my TFs, no matter what. I can't remember the last time I did not finish one. Two in a row is horrific. Any thoughts?

Nice. Glad to have players like you in the game.

    i22 questions

Nice, thanks Hopeling. Between that and the Hell Hound I have a basis and can run character ideas. I can understand Imps, even if I do not love how they define the set or the fact they crazy. The Hound defines the set as well, and so I am not ecstatic, but at least now I can frame a reference on it. Like so many things in the game, the more they define it the more they limit it, but if your concept is what they wrote for you get to do the happy dance.

    i22 questions

No I have run the Underground Trial. That is the level 50 fighting a Hami sized DE thingy that confuses everyone? I even have a tier 4 Clarion I use just for that room and the Master Badge (on one character at least)

Drowning in Blood (DIB) is the new LFG for 15+ that follows up Death From Below (DFB). hearsay is the experience earning is meh. My hope is that it (DIB) is at least worth as many bars as DFB for time invested. Otherwise I will still be using DFB way more than I am happy with for 15-22, and sometimes to crank the last few bars of a level while I wait for TFs, friends, etc.
  20. You can buy a year subscription right? And if the doctors gave you 10 months to live then you would have a lifetime subscription. So you see, lifetime subscriptions are available. The real question is why they are only given to some. This is fundamentally unfair.

    Bomb/Devices Dom

I think what would be cool is a bomb/grenade/devices Dom. While I am normally very against redraw/weapons, since each animation is actually getting another device, greande, etc. it would make sense.

plus, then I could finally create my very own Midnight Bomber what Bombs at Midnight!. yeah baby yeah!

One friend got a piece of common incarnate salvage the first time and 2 astrals the second. The other got two pieces of common salvage. All three of us agreed that while the iXP rate was just fine, the drop rate for threads was terrible and even think that it'd be reasonable if they decreased the iXP rate if they'd also increase the drop rate of threads. As it stands though, we all thought the solo arcs aren't really very good for anything aside from getting an empyrean.
I am planning to try to farm the solo arcs for purple recipe and catalyst drops. Is that doable? +0/x8...?

    Moving Catalysts

You can convert purpled ATOs?!? If true (while a pain) this will solve all my issues with this problem.

Well, except for my favorite problem. I have already developed a trove of way too many account bound I/Os. You folks know I am always alting/rebuilding, it's just what I do. I have no way to store these things except on a character. Now I can store 30 per character, but this is a huge pain. It is also a tremendous pain to move them, 20 at a time max, after clearing out e-mail, and that taking forever. Can we get some storage love?

    i22 questions

I have only started delving into i22 content. There are parts of i6 I'm still finding lol.

But stream of consciousness here. Why is a big black barking dog a pet for Dark Domination? Seriously? Is there something here I am missing, besides it was easy to port from beast mastery?

Drowning in Blood? Okay, I have not run it yet, so this is hearsay. But I heard the experience earned is less than DFB for the time invested. Could the Devs really have missed that T-ball practice lob over the plate?

I feel I should have more, but I don't. 2 nights in a row I've had a very unsuccessful time getting Synapse completed, so that is what i've been doing. If anyone is interested and on Virtue at about 6pm Pacific Time shoot me a tell lol. Gonna start early tonight, and build the team myself. 2 nights of tries with no DPS (aside from my blaster) is getting old.

Oh, I guess the markets should be swinging in interesting patterns what with being able to change recipes around? I do not marketeer myself, since I manage auctions at my work and wont do it in game. But that should be interesting times eh?
