  1. Thanks, I've made the updates suggested.
  2. The single most common question I field when running Hami Raids is, "Is PowerX a hold or not?". I spent some time with Hero Planner and No Future, made a list, gave it to the folks on Victory who have vetted it. Below should be a complete list (as of I8) of all the Hero-side powers which have a Hold component.

Remember, in a pinch, you can tell if a power is a Hold if it takes Orange enhancements.

  4. This isn't the training video, it's just a set of clips set to music. As it says at the beginning and end, the full, real and actual training video should be here this month, hopefully before christmas. This is just the trailer/treaser.
  5. This is really, really good!
Crap, now I have to go read all the back issues. Another weekend shot to dust....
  6. I'm in the process of putting together an instructional video for teaching first timers the basics of Hami Raids. I'm expecting to finish it sometime this month (December), but it's going slowly.
As an aside, I threw together this little 3 minute video of exerpts from the larger video and set it to music, just for the fun of it.
Let me know what you think.

  7. One thing, which I have filed as a bug.
I came into faultline through the Pocket D enternace and found I couldn't interact with anything in Faultline, i.e. I didnt receive the Old Fashioned badge despite being directly on top of it (and checkign to make sure I didnt already have it for some reason), I was unable to exit Faultline throught the tunnel or through the base portal. I did get out by going back trhough Pocket D. I then went to FF where everything worked normally.

As I said I filed a bug but would be interested if anyone else saw the same thing.
  8. Nice site!

Is there somewhere I can get the code for box on the left with the changing picture? Java programming is not my forte, and if it's canned somewhere I'd love to grab it.
  9. Probably known already, but I can't find them. Anyone know where I can get a set of CoX fonts?

I'm trying to build some baseball-type cards for my SG and these fonts would rock.

    Thanks!

So you are all Defenders? Poor Trollers who could get those powers but it isn't their primary

Also, keep in mind that you can't stack Veng.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, we're going to expand it to include 'trollers. I think our first one joined yesterday.

We did a few mished with 5 rad defenders and a troller with a rad secondardy. Massive damage, massive debuffs and my level 4 defender ran all across Skyway hopped-up on 4 AMs. Loads of fun!
  11. The Eradicators is a new SG with a twist. Everyone has the radiation primary!

I know, I know, "This is just another theme based SG and those never work..." but consider:

We always team up, and things like AM stack pretty well.
Everyone is getting the leadership pool
    and, most importantly,
We're all getting Fallout and Vengeance. That’s right, we are making a team of toons who love to blow themselves up!

Details on the Eradicators, including the standard costume and required powers, can be found here on the Vanguard Site

The leaders of the Eradicators can be identified by the pre-fix Baka so if you're interested in joining, or even just interested in teaming with some Eradicators, send a note to a Baka.

The Eradicators is a SuperGroup associated with The Vanguard League

Absorb Pain - This power is truly great and a lot of the time over looked power. A lot don’t like it because of the –heal debuff it leaves on the empath for a small duration. But if you use it right, it can be a great tool to have, especially in the early lvls. There have been many arguments about when to get this power. Only thing I can say to that is to answer this question: Are you going to be a full team empath? Or more of a blaster-type who wants to solo a lot? If yes to the first question, then I would say get this power as soon as you can, and if yes to the last one, then you can wait on this one for a while or maybe not get it at all, just depends on how you are going to play.
Another good thing about this power is that it doesn’t need many slots to perform at its peek. 2 slots (3 max if you want) will almost put even a tank back at full health. So I say get this power, and learn how to use it the best way for yourself. I have my way but this is your empath. If anything, this is a great ‘oh shi*t’ emergency power to have on hand. I wont recomend slotting recharges in it, cause really, you dont want to spam this power in chance you might die...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Also, if you chose Power Mastery for your Epic set, you can turn AP into a godlike power. Snap Powerboost, throw Absorb Pain and you can heal *anything* in the game (short of Hami). I've done this in combat with a tank and we were both *stunned* when the combat log read "2301"

Travel: All i can say on this one is get Fly and slot it however you want. I dont know what I would of done without it, hovering over my team buffing and healing without getting my self killed. Or following around the tank/team with fly overhead, seeing and knowing were everyone is at. Just get fly, and love it... don’t ask why!!
Side note: I would suggest getting hover as your ‘before fly power’ cause in the middle of a battle, switching to hover will save a lot of end that’s needed to heal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed! Also Teleport is a great power for an empath. I took the Rez/Recall Friend combo, then a little later added Teleport and it was a great add. You can pop-in, throw an HA, pop-out in a few secs. Easy way to keep on top of things when groups "drift apart". (not that they do that or anything)

The other advantage of TP is that it compliments Fly very nicely. 2 or 3 range enhs on it and I can be across IP before the SJ-ers. Lots of advantage for one "extra" power.
  14. This is why someplace like Starbucks is your very best friend. CoH runs on most decent laptops these days (Toshiba make a whole line with nvidea built-in). Starbucks have wireless and are everywhere! (I am writing this from a Starbucks that is across the street from another Starbucks!).
    So you just need to:
    1) Schedule a two hour meeting
    2) Grab your laptop
    3) Duck out to SB, jump on with your headphones
    4) Play for 1:59:59
    5) Call your office and tell them you are on the way back but (stuck in traffic/still at the dentist office/behind a long funeral precession/stuck on the train/talking a friend out of suicide)
    6) Play for another 1:59:59
    7) head back to work

I popped levels 47/48 a few blocks from work using a version of this.
    Enjoy!
