Quote:Apparently:The term "bending over backwards" was used because the peoe went blatently out of their way to show the OP by actually supplying links
For this kind of thing, it wa bending over backwards - we could of just said "it is out there for cheaper, go find it" but we acutally looked and whatnot. Some of us while passing just a moment here and there at work.
And as for calling out being some of use being elitist "behind the keyboards" even if it isn't showing in the text - wha? If it isn't in the text, how can you know?
"Bend over backward" = "buy the game for me or send free code", and:
"elitists" = "people who don't buy the game for me or send free code"
Though I do have to wonder... if $40 (or whatever) is too much, causing one to look at another game... what do the other games looked at cost? Seems to me it's a choice between paying $40 for this, $40 for something else, kvetching about not being able to play this free or tracking down another free game.
Did I miss an option? -
Haven't tested safeguards yet, but there are still extensive problems with mayhems:
1) Longbow and hero spawns are still unable to reach the downstairs vaults. They apparently get "lost" in the elevator. Am starting to think this is somehow tied to the recent "WALK thru doors/portals/etc" animation change.
2) Spotted several Longbow Eagles flying thru walls, buildings, the ground. Subsequently was attacked by several that "appeared out of nowhere", apparently by flying thru the building walls from outside the bank. On the "plus" side, flying this way appears to save them from being "eaten" by the carnivorous elevators. -

Quote:Visit all the stops on the Ferry (same badge for red and blue lines). Now that there are Exploration badges for visiting multiple locations, I think more of these should be added. Like:
Gyroic - Visit one "City of Gyros" store
Super Gyro - Visit five "City of Gyros" stores
A Hero's Gyro - Visit all the "City of Gyros" stores
Railroaded - Visit all stops on the Paragon City Monorail
Get to the Choppa - Visit all stops on the Black Helecopter line

Quote:Leaving aside the (apparently intentional) tone of your response, there's something to be said for the fact that, even if the devs intended the arc to be a "team thing", a great many players may view the whole concept of becoming an Incarnate as a personal, and private, thing... i.e. solo. Pulling him from the source of his "near invulnerability" was a perfectly valid tactic that ANY character could attempt, as opposed to A) knocking him into the lava, B) teleporting him there, or C) taking out each of his clones as they appear before he can fully regenerate. There are a great many toons that won't have access to A and B if they have the "wrong" powersets, and won't likely be able to manage C if they don't have either pets or sufficient damage. How long before they give him kb resistance and immunity to teleportation? How are you punished exactly? Did they take away any rewards you already earned? Where penalties aplied to your characters?
Ok, you don't like it that they made your favoured tactic impossible, fair enough, but punished, really?
In both MMOs and in RPG campaigns (which I've run a lot of), there's a difference between trying to CHALLENGE the players, and trying to DEFEAT them. The former generally draws people TO a story, the latter drives people away. The one change smacks too thoroughly of the latter logic, to me. -

Well, to be fair, the 3rd build is only awarded to Incarnates, so I could see something like:
1) Solo (or PvE)
2) Team (or PvP)
3) Incarnate
Honestly, getting Inherent Fitness skewed more of my builds than the Incarnate ability has, so far. That may change as more are added. Obviously, ymmv. -
Part of me thinks they would like to have longer seasonal events, in general, like they used to. The other part of me is thinking someone else won't let them.

Gave up on these code giveaways a long time ago. Even when I have nothing to do, I have better things to do then sit on a page hitting refresh all day. And again, I wonder why they asked us what we wanted in the way of marketing and then ignored the multitude of "more stuff (like this) in the NCSoft store" pleas. Would it be so terribly hard to sell these codes there, and give away free months of game time, or something?
Anyway, gratz to the folks that got them. -
Quote:RE: pets - my MM pets weren't making it thru elevators, nor we're they zoning into or out of the side missions OR the bank. Even the hero that came to arrest me wound up in limbo. So far, every mayhem and safeguard mission I've done (with elevators) has resulted in MOBs getting stuck on one side, or the other, of elevators. You can see their shadows in the corners, and can only damage them through AoE or by use of pets.
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I did a quick search and didn't see anything about it. -
I believe so, but I've never actually been watching the map when it happened. Too much going on at the time.
But yes, if they don't respawn simultaneously, it has to be pretty close; I've NEVER glanced at the map and seen only some of them respawned. It's always all or none. -
Quote:I'm not sure what this translates to in Mountain or Pacific Time (where I've lived since before I started playing) but, due to various job schedules, I've been in-game at all hours of the day. On Justice, get on the JFA2010 channel (if you haven't already). I've never had trouble getting a team there.I'm in Australia, generally the Justice server but I flip around freedom, justice, victory and virtue. Unless I want to play at 3 in the morning (which I don't ) there isn't much happening between 7:30pm and 10:00pm local time during the week, weekends are better but then I do have a life :-)

Quote:Can also lure him into the tunnel out of LoS with his clones, who all spawn in the lava room and don't move, also depriving him of the regen.Did you kill his clones he summons? They give him his regen. Take them out and he's a pushover. If all else fails toss him in the lava. It more than counters his regen.
Think a little. It helps.
But yes, giving up after 30 min of trying the same frontal assault... try something different. And keep the notion in mind for the mission from Lady Grey, as well.
As for him being unclickable after being defeated, that's happened once with Trapdoor, in much the same way that many caves wind up "absorbing" KBed enemies into the walls, making them largely un-hittable. -

Takes LOTS of skill to ignore the comments of the butt-hurt PvPers who think PvPing is the only true determining factor for "skill".

Quote:Aww man, now I'm TOTALLY bummed! I'm too po' to donate!I think there is a facebook awareness campaign for this. Something about pictures of brown eyes. Mine are green, so that's me out then.
Maybe we should start a lop-sided butt awareness campaign on the boards! I could get behind that! -
Quote:Is one side of your butt bigger than the other, too?!? That's so sad! I didn't realize this was such a widespread problem! As for 'the future of the game', the Incarnate system seems to be just what this game needed from where I am sitting. I can certainly see ways to improve and tweak it, but a fundamental re-write is not needed. From the various level of excitement both on the boards and in the game, others think as I do it seems and I have not heard anyone other than the OP spout anything like this kind of dribble.
Is there a chairity I can donate to or something? -
Quote:*gasp* Nuuuu, vdio gamz r srs bzns!!!The point of your OP was, obviously, that you want to decide who gets to become an Incarnate based upon your view of how the Real World should work and apply that to a Video Game that is meant to be a pleasurable time sink.

Quote:You're kidding, right? That's the second most outrageous thing I've read in this thread yet. Seriously, I've never even HEARD of something this preposterous.First off, lazy programming my oversized, hairy left buttock! This is merely you nerdraging because you don't have complete control of the system. You have no idea what sort of programming went into this. And, as usual, the first attack of the system itself is with the lazy, know-nothing schlub's argument about "bad programming".
How do you SIT long enough to even play CoH when the left side of your butt is larger than the right?
