Yep Tonight will be Redside again, just how it worked out. I will see all of you tonight in Port Oakes.
-
Im sorry but I dont believe you. I have faced the Storm Aspect on a number of atempts and the power he wields along with inability to control him makes be distrust your claim.
-
My more is better side of me says Option 2. The problem though is if you decide to go with #2 there is no going back. You cant decide after you dont want to have the old ones anymore without a huge outcry from the comunity. That is why I will have to repress my urge and say I am voting for Option 1.
-
I agree with ZMan. I have hope there are some other neat things coming in I20 but the major changes are its the first real dip into end game and they need to make sure they have made it all work correctly and with it being only for 50 who then become incarnates it will take time to test how quick can the content be done and how grindy it is.

Yeah I had made plans to do a run tonight last week which is why it was slightly off topic from the original post i just did not want people to expect me tonight.
-
After talking with people I have decided on running Weekly CoP runs. One night Hero one night Villain. After a while we will switch which night is Hero and which is Villain so that people that can only make one of those nights can get their favorite character in on it.
Thursday Nights: This night we will run villains. We will meet in Port Oakes. The run will begin at 6PST/9EST if we encounter the Storm Aspect we will hold the teams and atempt again at 7PST/10EST. These will be the only runs of the night so if the Storm Aspect is encountered twice we will take it as not ment to be for that night.
Saturday Nights: This night we will run heroes. We will meet in Indie Port. The run will begin at 6PST/9EST if we encounter the Storm Aspect we will hold the teams and atempt again at 7PST/10EST. These will be the only runs of the night so if the Storm Aspect is encountered twice we will take it as not ment to be for that night.
A Guide for the CoP can be found here.

I would like to remind everyone that Heroside CoP are for Heroes and Vigilantes only and Villainside CoP are for Villains and Rogues -
Quote:This is a very viable method and has worked well on the CoPs ive joined and run. It should not be too hard to get 3 people with that vet power. If you're having difficulty with the Obelisks in part one, something's been working pretty well for us on Virtue: Send 7 of your team to one obelisk, then send the eighth to the next obelisk, clockwise. Everyone take them all down at the same time, and when your obelisk is done, the eighth teammate uses Assemble the Team to bring the whole group over to the Obelisk that isn't done yet. They should all drop within the window, and coordination is a lot easier. (You just need a group porter who knows which Obelisk their group is at so they don't drag them over before theirs are done.)

Hey Everyone I just wanted to write up a guide for us on doing the CoP. This is v 2.0
Forming Teams-
I have found the best team set up is
1 Tank/Brute
3 Damage
4 Support
Damage consists of: Blasters, Scrappers, Soldiers of Arachnos, Kheldians, Stalkers, and Dominators.
Support consists of: Defenders, Controllers, Masterminds, Widows, and Corruptors.
That is the most broad sense of forming teams. When building them you must take into account the amount of Psionic Defense and Resist.
Some support that offers Psionic Defense or Resistance are: Dark Miasma-Shadow Fall, Widows-Mind Link, Force Field-Dispersion Bubble, and Pain Domination-World of Pain.
These sets are the most helpful for keeping everyone alive against the onslaught of Psionic damage that Rularuu. All the other damage they put out is less important to worry about.
Set up- I am trying to do these runs without temp powers but as of now they seem to be very important. The temp powers that are important are the Shivian from Bloody Bay and the HAVS from the Rikti War Zone. The more of these you bring the better for the team success you have. Other AoE buffs and Pets are all useful as well.
The Mission-
Obelisks
Before Starting-
Designate each team to an island. The three directions are North East, South East, and South West. After each team should pick someone on their team for Assemble the Team. This person will go to the Island clockwise to that of their group. If the teams are not well balanced this is one way to help balance damage output.
Once the teams have assembled on their islands they will begin buffing and wait for the Leader to call out Attack. Be sure that the Assembler knows the name of the Obelisk the rest of the team is at.
The Mechanics for the Obelisks work as such. The Cubes near the Obelisk will spawn Rularuu (There will be a spawn there to begin with) After defeating the spawn the shield on the Obelisk will drop. The Obelisk will spawn some Natterlings around it. These Natterlings will offer the Obelisk additional regeneration. The Obelisks must be all dropped in thirty seconds of each other to open the portal to the AV.
The Obelisk Assault-
As soon as Attack is called The teams will move in to defeat the spawn. As soon as they are all defeated all attention will be focused on the Obelisk. The damage output by the team should be more than enough for you to ignore the Natterlings. This is when the Assembler is important. If the island they are at is lagging behind once their teams obelisk reaches zero hit points they will assemble their team in to help take out the surviving Obelisk. This is why it is important that the assembler know the name of the obelisk the team is at so they can monitor its health. This should make up for any damage issues teams have.
Yay the Obelisks are down and now the portal is open!
The Portal
As you enter there will be a cut scene. This is where your hopes can be instantly crushed. There are two different AVs (I want to put the rumors to bed about there being four or eight or seventy five different ones.) They are both named Aspect of Rularuu. The first one I have nicknamed Big Red. The other is Stormy. If Stormy spawns for you He will be purple and during the cut scene he will have a Lightning Field and normally brings up his Hurricane. This is bad! I recommend that if he spawns you do not continue with the CoP. The amount of effort put in to forming the teams and collecting temp powers is not worth the difficulty and low success rate of fighting this AV. If Big Red spawns you may cheer and continue with the CoP. This is a guide for PuG CoP runs and this is only based on my personal opinion. I will detail what is needed for each AV fight.
Setting Up-
Once everyone enters you should gather at the bottom of the ramp. I have had issues with the ramp obscuring AoE buffs so moving just past this will fix any issues with that. Everyone should begin buffing at this point. Much like a Hamidon raid first all long term buffs like shields and status protections first. While buffing summon all pets including Shivians and HAVS. Finish up with AoE buffs.
The Aspect Assault-
This encounter works much like the Obelisk encounter. There are 3 cubes that spawn Rularuu and their existence is what keeps a shield on the Aspect of Rularuu. Everyone at once should then move to the center of the room. Any AoE Heals should be spammed to create a healing bubble. Tanks and Brutes will split off and taunt the mobs into the center for all to kill. The Tanks/Brutes can be designated to which cube they should pull from based on which island they were on before. As you are fighting the Rularuu be sure to get dead people up as quick as you can. Characters who are less squishy can at this point leave the healing bubble to take down any stragglers. As soon as the shield is shattered everyone will focus all their attention on the AV. All people on the team that have -regeneration powers should begin firing them off. The important part right now is to get long term -regeneration powers on him right before the Rularuu respawn. As the Rularuu respawn everyone should break off from fighting the AV and refocus on the spawns. Tanks Brutes bringing them in to the center to kill, Non squishies killing stragglers, Dead being picked up, Everything that was done during the first spawn. After the shield is shattered again its back on the AV. This is a wash, rinse, repeat the most important part of this is getting -regeneration on the AV before he reshields so he does not have the shield time to get his health back.
Yay you won. At least I hope you did. This strategy is pretty solid. If you have anything for me to change/add let me know.
Aspect Breakdown-
Each Aspect has a weakness and a strength. I shall detail each part of the AV's stats here so you can understand what those are. If not stated the Aspect share the same stat numbers.
HP- 76692.89
End- 800
Regeneration Rate- .78%/sec 597.58
Recovery Rate- 3.34%/sec 26.68
To Hit and Accuracy Bonus- 70% and x1.5
Resistance:
Smashing-
Big Red 40%
Stormy 10%
Lethal-
Big Red 40%
Stormy 10%
Fire-
Big Red 10%
Stormy 10%
Cold-
Big Red 10%
Stormy 25%
Energy-
Big Red 40%
Stormy 25%
Negative-
Big Red 10%
Stormy 10%
Psionic-
Big Red 10%
Stormy 10%
Toxic-
Big Red 40%
Stormy 10%
It should be noted that the resistance floor for the Aspect AV is 10%
Defense- 0.0% across the board
Hold Protection- 0.0-50.0 with Triangles
Immobilize Protection- 0.0
Stun Protection- 0.0-50.0 with Triangles
Sleep Protection- 0.0
Knockback Protection- 100.0
Confuse Protection- 0.0-50.0 with Triangles
Terrorize Protection-- 0.0-50.0 with Triangles
Repel Protection- 100.0
Teleport Protection- 0.0
As you can see Big Red has higher resistance compared to Stormy. What Stormy lacks in resistance he makes up for with a 57.6% to hit debuff hurricane. When building teams to fight Stormy you need to bring enough to hit to overcome this. The major issue fighting Stormy is not missing him it is missing the respawns. If you do not get them down quickly another spawn will be made. If you allow this to happen your -regen powers will wear off and he will soon be back at full health. -
Hey Snow. Sorry to hear about your run. Dont get down about it I have been doing a lot of these recently and the Storm AV is quite a deal harder than the other one. With his firing through his shield you are already taking more damage to begin with. The real issue is that his damage and debuff aura pass through the shield. Anyone near the AV will be taking constant ticks of damage as well as being debuffed tohit at almost 60% this makes fighting the spawns really hard which is the real problem. Without taking the spawns down fast you get more respawns and this give him time to heal. My best advice is if you get the Storm AV just scrap the run. It is not worth the effort you put into getting Nukes and Shivians and other temp powers. I wish you all luck on your next attempts.
-
Hello. Im not actually from this server but I have been working on getting the strategy down for this new Trial. The one most important thing i can say is, if you get the storm AV its best to just scrap the run. He is immesurably harder than the other AV that can be spawned. It is not worth the effort put in collecting Nukes and Shivians to try and fight it. There are some tips and strategies in a post on the Virtue Forums with the title of "Nearly Nightly CoP" I have been slacking off on writing up an actual strategy guide. Also if you would like to you can contact me in game as @Blazing Tiger . I hope your run goes well its a pretty fun trial.

A wonderful run tonight everyone and another sucess. I will be making a new post about our new schedgule so look forward to that.
-
Ajax started out a Tank but by the end of the comic he was a scrapper. Obvioulsy it is full AT respecs. 8p
Now I know what your saying, "BT they said they would never do this" to which i respond "Yes that's why this is a joke post" -
As of right now the schedgule is up to the game. Over the next week i will be formulating what days will be best to do thses and that is when i will have a more stable schedgule. As it stands i want to do the CoP on each side untill the Red AV spawns so each side atleast has the chance to fight against the easier AV.
As for recruiting. I would rather people just show up at the designated zone at the time we are going to start. The plan is not needing to have to recruit more last minute.
Tonight we will be meeting in Indie Port at 6pm PST (9 EST) -
We got the Storm AV so we called it. Tomorrow wil be heroside again. As this weekend is a holiday I will be doing the run after tomorrow on tuesday. Next week we will be discussing what nights will be best to make permanant CoP nights based on everyones interest and particapation. Feel free to add input on this. I know there are many other Virtue events schedguled throughout the week.
Again want to thank everyone that came out for the CoP and a big thank you to the Angels for letting us use their base! -

A man standing in the shadow of the massive Talos statue Joshua has an up beat attitude on heroes of the city. Talking to passing heroes he is known to comment "There are a lot of frightened people on these city streets. But at least they have you to look up to." But who is Joshua Stutz?
Wandered by him tonight around /loc 2416.2 96.0 7182.9 in Talos Island. He has a purple ring at his feet. He has text for when you click him but nothing more.

First Nights review:
We had a little issue getting the timing down but after a reset we got the oblisks down without any issue. The way we set up to do the oblisks is pretty solid even with the issues it only took 15 mins to take them down. That leaves plenty of time to get the AV down.
After we entered I was asinging nuke orders and one went off. That caused a quick start that i wasnt expecting but it was managable. Remember Bio nukes are a click power not a targeted power. I took too long to call in the rest of the fighters and the brutes took a little too much damage to start i think next time having the whole group moving into the center at once will work better and just let the taunting and attacks draw the spawns in. After his shields went down all the nukes dropped and we pounded him into goo. He had 1/4 hp left when the respawn happened. We litteraly were tossing the last attack on the final baddie of the respawn when we had another respawn. If we had got the last one down a second or two sooner we would have finished him then. We took down the second respawn and dropped his shield which by that time let him regen quite a bit but with the team now used to the pattern of engaging the AV and splitting off to get the respawns it was just a matter of damage untill we dropped him.
All in all it was a great run with a somewhat pick-up group. We only had 22 of our 24 and we lost one due to a crash so that should go to show that you do not need to optmize the team to run this. To me the Nukes were helpful but not the needed aspect. The shivians and HAVS were the real important part of this allowing to increse our damage output. I would ask everyone to come with atleast a shivian for the next runs. Any nukes gathered are of course always welcomed.
It took us quite some time to get set up. depending on how the attendance is in the next week I will decide how often we will run these.
Keep an eye on this post for updated info on the NN CoP runs -
My Thunder! Noooo
Yep Night one was a big sucess ill write up a review of the run and where i think we can improve. Even with some small hickups we were able to get together and do it. Thank you everyone especially for waiting so long that was no where near when i wanted to start. Hopefully word will get around and we will get more interest.
Tomorrow night Hero side. We will meet in RWZ as the D was just to loud and crowded.
Anyone who ran tonight and has any sugestions please send a tell ingame or a PM here im always welcome to input. -
Alright. It is our first night tonight. I know there is alot of interest so if you dont get taken this run just know I will make sure you get to join us some time. We will be meeting in Pocket D at a litle before 9pm EST / 6 PST. I will want you to split up into 3 groups like i once did for Mo runs. I will explain once everyone is there. If you dont have Nukes and want to get one the most important wil be Bio nuke followed by Chem Nuke.

The Strategy for the CoP:
Part One: The three teams will be set up as evenly as we can and designate which island your team will handle. One of your team with Assemble will be picked to move clock wise to the next island (ill explain later) When we are all gathered on the island we have been sent to Attack will be called. Each team will kill all the spawns under the Cube. As soon as the spawns are down the barrier around the oblisk will shatter. At this time you will attack the Oblisk killing it. All three must be taken down within 30 seconds of each other. If all goes well they will. If one group is lagging behind the person who was sent to the other island will recall their team to help. It will be important that the person with Assemble knows the name of their Oblisk and the one their team is at so they wont teleport their team away to help when the team hasnt finished.
Part Two: The Portal will open in the center of the map. We will enter the crystal and a animation will play. If the AV is the Storm one that will be it for us. It it is not we will gather just at the bottom of the ramp. We will have 4 people drop nukes (which will be designated) at this point and then summon all pets we can Shivians, HAVS, ect. The Brutes and Tanks will move in and try to drag as much as they can to the middle. The rest of the gorup will move in to take everything out more survivable characters can move out to get any stragglers.. Once all the spawns are dead the AVs shield will drop. We will then drop 3 chem nukes (will designate who before hand) As well as any extra bio nukes and then if you have them damage nukes. If you have a -regen power use it as often as you can while still throwing out damage. If we are lucky he will go down first time. If not Tanks and brutes will pull the respawns in and we will rekill them it is important to kill them fast as the longer it takes the more chance for a second respawn and the loss of -regen on the AV. Once the shield is down all other chem nues will be dropped and we finish him off. It should not take more than two times of his shield dropping to win but if not rinse and repeat.
Sure this is a wall of text and spelling errors ill deal with it later and make a CoP strategy post but for now...BED! -
The Angels have been kind enough to open their SG for our runs. Becausse of this they will recive the first spots on the trial. This will be the method of how we will run the CoP I hope to eventually include everyone interested but those who open their base for the raid will get the first spots before we pick up others...also slacking on writing up the strategy guide...ill get it done before i go to bed.
-
I have already read both of them they have the same stats.
use ctrl+mouse wheel to get a better look.
Also Strategy guide will be posted here soon... -
-
Glad to see there is some interest. We should be needing every AT type i was just recommending a Dark because of how helpful it is but if we get 24 darks it will be too tough to finish as well so dont worry if you dont have a support character we will also need brutes/Tanks and damage as well.
