1. And, if you drive all the other peeps from the game that can't afford to pay these prices, what happens to the playerbase of this game?
2. Hi folks.

I didn't come here to Rant, Flame, or Troll.

I have a simple question;

Are you trying to kill the game?

Prices from 250,000,000 to 400,000,000 on Purple sets, and certain Procs are absolutely outrageous.

Respec Recipe 200,000,000?

Normal players of this game can not come close to affording these prices. Are you trying to force them to the Spam Sites?

Are you a source of Influence/Infamy for the Spam Sites?

What gives?

I have several 50's and have enjoyed playing them, and IO'ing them.

I just created a new toon, and at your current Market Pricing, she'll never get IO'd out.

You think peeps will keep playing when they can't IO their toons?

Whats up with this?
3. It was my understanding, that the Praetorian Realm is only part of it.

If I read the releases correctly, there are Story Arcs to change your Alignment, for existing toons.

There will be a Neutral Zone for new toons where your decisions can decide where and what you end up being; If you choose to start a toon in this zone.

It was however, clearly stated that switched Villains would be able to experience Paragon City Content (COH), and switched Heroes could experience Rogue Isles Content.

At least that is what I understood.

See, I didn't even use " "'s! I used Caps!
4. <QR>

I like the SG Alignment idea.

My problem is...

...I've spent an incredible amount of time and effort building my VG. My Co-Leaders are largely X-CoH, and have no plans of returning to that side of the fence. Niether of them wants the reigns of the VG. I don't want to have to spend another immense amount of time and effort to build an SG.

I have never played CoH, because I started in CoV and have made friends there. I want to play CoH.

But I hate the idea of abandoning my VG, knowing that nobody wants the headaches of being "Super-Leader".

If I stay, and others in my roster switch sides, then I'm losing members.

Who knows how it will all work.

I just can't see spending all of the time and effort to build an SG, when I've got a perfectly complete VG. Maybe a Prestige bonus to allow you to reform an equivalent to what you lost by switching sides?
5. I've been thinking about the "Side Switching" aspect of the New Going Rogue Expansion, and have wondered how this may effect SG's?

If I take a toon that is in my VG, and go Hero, I would guess that the toon would automatically be kicked from said VG, because they no longer have access?

Since SG's/VG's have Server Unique names, will the SG exist on both sides?

I guess I'm asking this question;

How do you as a Base Builder/SG Leader think Going Rogue will impact your SG/VG?

I'm posting this here, because I really want to see what Base Builders/SG Leaders think.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for GR, and am not trying to cry Doom over it at all. I very much look forward to the expansion.

I'm just wondering what impact it could have on my VG.
6. That would be nice too.
7. I know this has been asked for...

BUT GIVE US AN UNDO BUTTON IN THE BASE EDITOR!!!!!!!

I just spent three days reworking my base, and accidentally hit one of the infamous "Apply to Whole Base" buttons, because I was extremely tired.

It took me two hours to correct the damage done by that accidental click. (And I still didn't have everything fixed).

It can't be that hard to add an "UNDO" button to the Editor, that reverses the last thing you changed. In the event that the last thing was one of those "Apply to Base" Buttons, it would reverse the effects of that.

I don't think this is too much to ask for!
8. It's coming...

...just keep waiting...

...maybe around Issue 18?
9. He says he is keeping an eye out for good feature requests for the future?

What about all the lists of good features that have been on here for months to years?

Recipe storage problem: Allow enhancement tables to store recipes AND enhancements without changing their capacity. There ya go. If someone wishes to craft their recipe and storage, they should be content. If a player prefers to store Just the recipe, those interests are also served. Both sides of the discussion are taken care of, in full. It's just that simple. I'm only too happy to give up credit and any devs are invited to take that solution as credit it for themselves.

Let's be fair here: While it's interesting to see that there's someone out there apparently willing to be generous and philanthropic enough to effectively give away a billion INF just to be "nice" to other people you must admit there are relatively few people out there who would actually do something like that without expectation of anything tangible in return.

What people choose to do with their INF is their own thing.
More power to Fulmens I guess...

[/ QUOTE ]

True that....

But, what does he expect in return?

I don't have a Bill Inf to give away. (Not saying I don't have a Bill Inf).

But, What is he expecting in return?

If he is just being a nice and loving person as you say, more power to him.
12. This build is actually for a friend of mine's toon. He has asked if I would post it for Feedback on making it better.

He will primarily play this toon as a Sapper/Debuffer, PVE, Teams.

All help is appreciated.

Being smart enough to ask a question while ingame is not restricted to being a "metagamer". There are plenty of people willing to answer questions.

Having the common sense to read the manual that is provided for free on the City of Heroes website is not restricted to "metagamers". You can even find the CoH manual by using Google.

Paying attention when creating your account and taking the time to set up their forum account and reading the section clearly marked Player Guides is not restricted to "metegamers".

Reading the instructions provided by contacts in the tutorial and at places like the University, the Consignment House, the Arena, the AE building, etc. is not restricted to "metagamers".

The person that jumps blindly into a game uninformed and then flounders about has no one to blame but themselves for their predicament

I have actually asked questions in Broadcast, and other channels while learning this game. I got very little useful information. Most replies were derogatory.

As a result, I try to answer questions for Peeps if I see their question pop up.

When I was introduced to this game, it was my first MMORPG. I approached it like any other game I have for my PC. I walked in the store, saw the box, and said to myself; "Self: this might be cool!" I bought it.

I knew very little about this game, and approached it like any other game. I didn't look for help until I realized I needed it. Then I asked where to find it.

You assume that everyone new to this game has researched it, studied it, and still knows much less than you do about it. You assume that they know where to go to get answers to all their questions.

They don't!!!!!!

They bought the game and they are trying to learn.
14. I too plan to run a Fortunata next.

That will be a completely different toon.

Death-Widow is my "In your face" toon.

The Fort I hope will turn out more like a Cor, keeping distance between herself and the Mobs.

I believe Novella pointed out up thread that they are different in their builds.

While Dual-Builds would allow me to create both in one toon, I'd much rather play the other one up and build her to perfection as well.

Well, as close to perfection as I can get, lol.

It would have to be a completely different toon though.

Death-Widow is about killing up close and personal.

The Future Fort toon is about rendering you helpless from a distance...and then killing you.
15. Dude,

I ain't a newb Sg Leader.

I give every piece of advice I can give to my members, including Build advice.

I was merely !@$%#^@%#!#$!$@#%$ Saying it would be nice to have these things available.

I tell my members anything and everything they want to know, and encourage involvement via Internet sources.

If you so called Veterans are so good, why are you even bothering having this conversation?

Again....END OF ARGUMENT!!!!!!!

You can't argue with folks who will argue with a wall.
16. Congratulations!!!

Enjoy your new lvl 50 Fort!
17. Whoa...

I agreed with you, and you are making me out to be the bad guy here.

I ain't the one that came on all antagonistic against you and Forbin. I agree with you.

End of argument.

EDIT:

But...

I can't resist. I had a guy/gal (you never know) join my SG two days ago. This player is brand new to the game, and has no clue what a Black Market is. He/she has no clue what recipes are. That is what I classify as a "New Player".

I merely stated in my original post that it would be nice to store Costume Recipes, and posibly Respec Recipes for Sg Members.

That was the extent of my comments.

This has turned into an argument about using the Market.

I use the Market, but I'm not a Marketeer. I buy and sell stuff every day, wether I gain Inf, lose Inf, it don't really matter to me.

I buy what I need when I need it. I sell What I have no use for.

Your assumption that a person who has just created a game account, and created his first toon should know about the "Hot Keys", Paragonwiki, the Forums, etc... is far fetched.

I will argue the point no further though.

You win.

I wasn't trying to start an argument in the first place.

Not to new Players of the game. I've seen several members that were "Wowed" by wings, Rocket Boots, etc... ask how to get them.

It would be nice to be able to store some, for such players. Just starting out, they can't afford them. They can hardly afford to stay enhanced without help.

[/ QUOTE ]

New players could easily afford any costume recipe they fancied by level 10 if they would do regular missions instead of powerleveling thru the AE.

Sorry to go off topic like that.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you have any facts to back this up? A player can barely afford slotting powers let alone spending 100k on costume parts in the early levels. Same amount of kills net about the same amount of XP/inf. let it be Missions, AE, street sweeping. You trade salvage drops for tickets which helps on slotting powers in the AE. No one really uses the market until they get a travel power, unless they are supported by a higher level. So AE toons actually have more influence on hand. Heck, when I rolled a VEAT doing missions, I didn't get my first salvage drop until like level 6. When I was level 10 I had about 6 peices, hardly enough to buy a costume part of choice.

[/ QUOTE ]

What are you talking about - "No one really uses the market until they get a travel power, unless they are supported by a higher level. " Why wouldn't you use the market at any level you get salvage drops? That's why they have WW in Atlas & KR and BM in Mercy and Port Oakes (in fact, the PO market was added due to requests).

My low level alts on my less-populated servers all stand on their own, and they all use the market. They pick missions that will get them good drops (i.e., missions with mobs over level 4, usually Arcane foes) and sell them all at the market. I have taken the Level 10 challenge* a couple of times and ended up with 150-200K Inf* at the least.

If you don't want to use the tools available to you, that's your choice, but don't make over-generalizing statements like "no one without travel powers uses the market" because you are flat wrong.

* Level 10 Challenge - Start a new character. Level the character to level 10 by whatever means floats your boat, keeping Enhancements at least white if not green, purchasing them as needed. Sell all drops at the Market for minimal prices (1-25 Inf). I haven't tried it specifically in MA, but I do have a low level AE character who has turned in tickets and sold the resulting salvage (random commons) at WW. She has over 600K Influence right now at level 10.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just to go by Ad_Astra's challenge I started 2 new characters today 1 hero 1 villain.

Dusk Defender - Level 9 Defender - 917,409 Influence
Lanicae - Level 11 Stalker - 1,587,697 Infamy

[/ QUOTE ]

Veteran and Informed player = Moot.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree with Forbin, and Ad-Astra that this is easily done. I've got several lvl 50's on two accounts, so I don't follow their procedure with my new toons, I just load a 50 and transfer Infamy.

The discussion was not about Established Players, but Players New to the Game.

I have no doubts that I could create a toon and have 100K+ at lvl 10, without transfering any funds.

New Players however lack that knowledge.
19. That is correct, those numbers are without Mind-Link.

With Mind Link:

Defense: 79.2%
Ranged 64.3%
AoE: 52.4%

I only have two Touch of Death Sets. I have Two Mako's, two Obliteration, all six slotted.

I have One Thunderstrike, and one Positron's Blast 5 slotted.

I don't think I'll have enough Recharge to Perma Mind Link, but I do have Elude for when things go down hill.

All in all, I think the build is pretty solid now, but it wouldn't have been without your help.

Thanks again.
20. Please don't bring that argument here. I've read enough stuff on that in the other Forums to last a lifetime, lol.

I seldom Farm, though some in my group do.

I do NOT agree with PL'ing, though I have seen it done In Game, not in the MA.

Back on topic...

It is fairly easy for a new player in my group to get such things, because I offer several Inf Rewards, and have Enhancements they can just go sell on hand.

It would still be nice to have it available as one less thing they have to worry about buying.
21. [ QUOTE ]
Just a couple changes you may way to think about.

I would drop fly down to two slots and use Zephyrs in them for the ranged defense using two IOs.

CT, TT:M, Foresight, and Mask Presence would be better off slotted with Red Fortune since you can slot 5 of them for 5% recharge and 6 slots will get you 2.5% ranged defence not ot mention 3 slots gets your 1.25% ranged defense.

Making those changes will get you 15% more global recharge and increase your ranged defense which is important because even stealthed with capped melee you will sometimes need ranged defense more than melee, ie. Cimerorans.

I wouldn't worry about you losing regen, you really don't need to worry about having higher regen since you won't get hit much and even if you do get hit you will be fine.

Other than that your build looks fine. I see a lot of Luck of the Gamblers used which I assume is because of the regen bonus that two of them provides. I personally don't like that set at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

I tried your suggestions, and couldn't fit the Red Fortune in due to Slotting Issues.

I did do the Zephyrs, and added that slot to Mask Presence.

Final Positional Defenses on the Build I'm running with:

Defense: 63.8%
Ranged: 48.9%
AoE: 37%

This looks good to me.

Let me know what ya think, and thanks again for all the help.

My recommendation is that if you're going to share the recipes, you might as well craft the enhancements and store those instead. You can put 100 in each enhancement table.

It already exists,... it is this.

[/ QUOTE ]

That does not account for other Recipe types, such as Costume Parts I'd like to have a storage of for my members; Wings etc...

Then there are Respec Recipes, those would be handy to have available for Alts, or just for when you slap yourself in the head and say; Doh! Why did I just do that! After using one.

Respec recipes, yeah it would be nice to have a way to store em but wings,.. come on those are so cheap why bother storing?, just buy em when you or an SG mate needs one.

My point is, not all Recipes that are potentially very helpful to a SG are capable of being crafted into enhancements.

I do agree with you however, that Crafting the IO Recipes and storing the Enhancements is perfectly workable.

I just wish I could store the Recipes that don't turn into enhancements, and think it would be really cool to be able to offer stuff like that to members of the SG that can't afford to buy it, or are relatively new to the game.
