  1. Comments are welcome. I can see several MA arcs with this origin.
  2. A New Beginning.
The Captain languished in prison for barely a month before the famous Arachnos breakout took place. Security cameras showed the Captain with yet another battle harness, It was crude, barely a level one security threat, but the fact that he was able to construct it at all was amazing. Smashing his way past guards and criminals, the Captain found the time to place a bomb in a crucial radar station. Longbow survivors claimed Arachnos agents called him by name. Arachnos has a long arm indeed if it can reach into the Zig.

Captain Ka-BOOm escaped on an Arachnos flyer. Longbow tracked him to Mercy Island where his first act was to capture an Arachnos informant. Four Longbow agents were hospitalized, two never made it. The Captain had killed again.

Undercover operatives followed his progress. The Captain would engage in intense criminal activity, only to disappear for a few days. He would take a point to loot any technology, selling what he didn’t need at various black markets. His threat level can be tracked by the various incarnations of his battle-harness. Ka-BOOM is still not nearly as dangerous as before, but he’s powerful enough to rob a casino, and he even had the cheek to rob a bank in Atlas Park.

    Crey is getting worried.
The publicity of the daring Atlas robbery had the city buzzing. Heroes swore to bring in the renegade Captain, now beyond any hope of redemption. Crey took notice, and began to prepare. Noting the Captain’s relative weakness, Crey operative were seen in Atlas hiring old enemies of the Captain…the Hellions. There was a Hellion presence in the Rogue Isles and they could reach where the Heroes dare not.

By now it was believed Captain Ka-Boom was on Port Oakes, possibly living in a boat. Two Hellions, Pyre and Inferno were hired to kill the Captain. Both had been defeated previously, spent years in the Zig, and had a grudge. Unfortunately, The money from the bank heist was well spent. The Captain had a new battle harness, and could now summon a Nemesis staff. Longbow has no idea where he came into THAT possession.

Pyre was killed outright. Inferno survived, but just barely. His men hauled him back to the mainland and he’s now in the Zig infirmary. In both cases, Captain Ka-Boom tore the prosthetic horns from their heads, and wears them as a necklace. The attacks resulted in a murderous rampage as the Captain went hunting hellions all over Port Oakes. The Captain was last seen selling Luck Charms at the Black Market. Even pulling a few fingers from the rings as he sold them.

Like many of the Arachnos’ chosen ones, Captain Ka-Boom is seen as a rising threat. The Isles granting sanctuary to super villains that strike the city and then retreat is something that cannot be ignored. Short of a war, only heroes and entrenched Longbow forces can do anything about this.

It’s not known if Captain Ka-BOOM has given up his vendetta against Crey. Longbow believes he still has plans, but delays action until he can access better equipment. Longbow has placed a bounty on the Captain’s head far higher than other villains of his threat level. Heroes must remember that Captain Ka-BOOM is a veteran hero himself, and possesses a vast knowledge of military technology. He is rapidly catching up to his former threat levels. He has experience, wisdom, and nothing to live for except revenge.
Positron believes that the Captain only lacks Rikti technology to regain or surpass his former strength.

Approach with extreme caution, and then only with teammates to back you up.
  3. When Heroes go Bad.
    Longbow Profile: Captain Ka-BOOM
Security photo from Port Oakes Island.
Please note the rebuilt battle-harness the Captain wears is incomplete, it’s missing the shoulder pieces he was known to wear in Paragon. Further, he no longer wears his helmet.

    Fall from Grace
Captain Ka-BOOM was a signature hero in Paragon, until he went lethal. He smiled, would joke with the citizens, and posed for pictures. Even his name was based on humor. “All the good names were taken. Ka-BOOM just sorta stuck in my head.”

The Captain had been working Brickstown when he suddenly disappeared. He was spotted appearing in a very public trial for several high level Crey executives for the murders of a woman and her three children. Every day he sat watching the proceedings. During the trial the defense attorney revealed that the victims were in fact Captain Ka-Booms wife and children. Then he dropped the other shoe, revealing the Captain’s secret identity.

The heroes of Paragon were outraged that a corporate lawyer would so callously reveal a secret ID, but the damage was done. His name was in the papers and his remaining family was forced into hiding, as the Captain’s many enemies closed in.

The trial dragged on for several months and each of the executives got off. The defense claimed it was either a Nemesis plot, or the Captain himself killed his family. Statesman was there, and tried to reach out to the broken hero, but the Captain shook him off and stalked out.

For three days, no one knew the Captain whereabouts. Then the Crey lawyer turned up dead, dropped from a great height. Each of the executives were likewise found dead. A hero had turned lethal.

But it didn’t stop there. Crey called for help as the Captain attacked offices and labs, assassinating key executives and personnel. Some heroes were noticeably slow to respond. Statesman and Freedom Phalanx were forced to head out to stop the murders.

Again, the Captain disappeared, only to turn up later after missiles destroyed Countess Crey’s summer home. She wasn’t there, but a conference of senior advisors was. He had stolen the missiles and launchers from a Crey munitions facility. The Captain’s Death Toll now broke 100.

In a climatic finale battle, the Freedom Phalanx cornered the Captain (and reprogrammed Mechmen) in an abandoned warehouse. He had been using his technical expertise to alter Crey missiles to arc up and over Paragon’s shield walls and wipe out all of Brickstown. The warehouse had been turned into a giant launchpad, capable of firing more than 1500 missiles at the same time.

Captain Ka-BOOM was defeated and stripped of his vaunted battle harness. With Great sadness Statesman had the harness destroyed, and his friend sent to the Zig. The Captain waived his right to a trial pleading guilty to any and all charges. The local news ran a film of the Captain swearing it wasn’t over, his war would continue.

    Sexy death

I love your heroine. Can you post another shot? Thats a great costume.
  6. Oh yeah. That happened to me.
I had Longbow as well. And when I did attack, they ran instead of fighting. They ALL had loot, enhancements, and inspirations.

  8. What part of the city/isles is home for your main character?

My Main Toon is Black Falconn (just dinged 35).
    http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...08/Victory.jpg
She lives in a posh apartment in Faultline. Got a deal on it too!

    http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...ops08/Apts.jpg
Here she is talking with reformed Lost, now gainfully employed as maintenance staff.
(they only occasionally need to be beaten.)
    http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f.../Aptstaff1.jpg
BF lives off the bounties she collects, but she has become a part owner of a trendy bar that no one seems to frequent much. On some nights you can find the famous Black Falconn tending bar. It’s a good place to drink, the prices are reasonable, and the food is great! All it needs is a little advertising and PR work.
    http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...ops08/Bar1.jpg
BF supplements her income as TV's national spokeswoman for Cooke's Electronics. You can also see her in commercials for In Front Steak House, Up and Away Burgers, and The Portal Corporation. (Crey refuses to hire her, maybe its because she attacks their employees on sight..)
  9. I'm thinking Face 13, 14 or Young Face 9.
But I wouldn't mind being proven wrong...

hmmm the thing thats dissapointing about that is theyve already revamped the red bee

the new girl looks kind of cool and her robot bees shoot lightning

ill probably chuck up the poll tomorow, it will be the second of march in australia :P

    [/ QUOTE ]
Doesn't count. I entered the original Red Bee in his pink and red red outfit, and his pet bee, Micheal or something. His suckiness overrides any rewrite.

Besides, the new girl was possessed by alien bees...so she is still kinda lame.
  11. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...lops08/BF2.jpg
All I want is a rectangular cutout of my toon. There are NO instructions with MS Paint.
I also have Infranview if thats easier. (Free program)
  12. The lamest hero will always be...The Red Bee. He has powers over bees. He's a team filler type character, and he will typically get the tar beat outa him, and he will release his last bee from his belt compartment. The last Bee stings the villain just at the right moment to distract him, and the team mates jump in to save the day.

Never ever have I seen such a lame super hero. He's a DC possession. And I think he gets killed off every few years, then the teams gets a cool cover with the promise "This issue a hero DIES!"

Basically, Red Bee is the Red Shirt on Star Trek. The expendable, edible hero.

At 23, she’s a slim 115 pounds, 5’6”, light brown hair that matches her wings, and blue eyes. She’s as pretty as a super model. BF is a bubbly, spontaneous, energetic girl. She’s always quick to smile, and loves to tell jokes. Crime fighting is excitement for her, not a grim duty.

Paragon city knows her as a heroine, but the nation is far more familiar with Black Falconn, the spokeswoman for Cook’s Electronics. Her good looks, wings and skimpy outfit has made her a favorite on the internet, and launched a second career in commercials. But her first love is crime fighting. She’s a bit more violent and less concerned with property damage than other heroes, but that’s why she wears a mask-no litigation. She loves fighting Arachnos for the sheer variety of troops, and she hates zombies, because they smell bad and squish when you hit them.

Natasha Faraday was born a mutant. A fact that she remains ignorant of to this day. You see, her mutant ability is to build things, or rather, create a focus for her abilities to work through. Tasha is convinced that she is some sort of brilliant inventor-even though she never took a course in science or electronics.

She started building things in high school. It all started with a broken mirror. She couldn’t help but to try to improve it, so she added glitter to the super glue. Before long she had all her tools out, adding gears from her watch, a battery from her camera, and LED lights from her VCR. When she was finished, all the parts melded into a new whole, the mirror was thicker, but otherwise seamless.

Tasha felt she has built something significant, but what it was, she didn’t know. Peering intently, she willed the mirror to activate. Colors shone from the depths of the glass, glitter swirled, LED lights flashed a warning, and the mirror went black. Tendrils of smoke wafted up. Surprised, Tasha dropped the mirror, and it nearly cracked her worktable in half.

Tasha had made her first contact with the netherworld, and she discovered its damaging energies. At first she was afraid, but she began to think of ways to harness the energy she discovered. Her first attempts were failures. She built a backpack, and attached a baton to it with a coiled wire. But the netherworld energies consumed the baton a mere hour after activation, it crumbled into dust in her hands. The same fate held true for a sword, a mace, and a tire iron: they all crumbled into dust.

What she needed was an otherworldly substance that could withstand contact with the netherworld. At this point, the 2nd Rikti war broke out. Seizing the opportunity, Tasha braved the battles to scavenge armor and technology.
    It was perfect!
She was able to refit Rikti armor into a battle harness that could channel the netherworld energies into her gauntlets. The harness joins at the neck and protects her shoulders, arms, and hands.

The battle harness was examined by Positron, who expressed amazement at its construction. He could make out no rhyme or reason for the circuitry involved. It was expensive, involved alien components, but it made no sense. Indeed, Tasha seemed to have run out of money at one point: the circuitry of the inner left arm was missing, it was a diagram, nothing more. Yet it worked for her just fine. Positron mentioned none of this to the young Black Falcon (a mere 18 at the time). He just encouraged the girl, signed her hero registration, and sent her on her way.

Today, Black Falconn lives in an apartment located in Faultline. She lives off collected bounties and her commercial endorsements. Her parents think she is an overworked commuter.

Her biggest secret is a small army of Private Eyes she employs. She’s not a natural detective, and so she built a camera and radio into her mask. Her favorite PI is a grizzled retiree named Madigan (who himself was a hero back in the day). Her camera feed goes straight to his agency (Paragon Investigations), and she can access any number of agents (she can end up with four or five of them walking through a mission with her). The favorite duty at the agency is Falcon Vision, they get to sit in easy chairs and give advice to a gal who does all the hard work.

“Idiot!” a bone white fist hit the table. The Cabal cringed. “I gave specific orders to avoid any confrontation with heroes. I taught him magic. I gave him power. It went to his head.”
The skull turned to the Cabal. Its eyeballs rolled over each of them in turn. “Now Tremor’s arrogance threatens us all.”

Mr Bones stood up. He was a skeleton. He wore a tailored zoot suit, and a fedora. Reaching to a shelf, he opened a jar. A moth fluttered out, and perched on a skeletal finger. The moth bore a death’s head on its back.
    “Number five.” The skull whispered.
The moth fluttered once about the table as if searching, and then flew out the window.

Mr Bones looked at the 11 members of the Cabal, “We now have an opening in our little group…”

“We’re in position, Command. Whats the visual?”
    >No movement, same as before. Covers over his head.<
Officer Kowalski didn’t like this. Unknown metas were always dangerous. That Falcon girl said he had some sort of earth based powers, so he was placed in one of the Zig’s upper story holding cells. And now he hadn’t moved in 6 hours.

“Get ready.” Kowalski warned. The team crouched weapons out. He stood to one side, and entered the code. The first set of blast doors opened. He punched a button and the 2nd set slid open.

The team rushed in. Weapons pointed at the man under the covers. Kowalski wished he has a super to back him up. The man was surrounded.
Kowalski kicked the bed and backed up. “Wake up call! You were given the order an hour ago.”
    No response.
“Last chance, loser!” Kowalski grabbed a fistful of the blanket.
    No response.

Kowalski ripped away the blanket. He gasped. The team looked on in fascinated horror.
The meta human was dead. The sheets were soaked with blood. His face was eaten away, only the skull and the eyeballs were left.

No one noticed the dead moth in the corner…

It was a simple smash and grab. Back the truck through the glass storefront, the boys would jump out grabbing the good stuff, and away they would go. It would take mere minutes… what could go wrong?

That’s what Barry kept telling himself. All he has to do was stay in the truck, keep the engine going, and peel out when they told him too. But this was Paragon, and things weren’t always so easy.

Something fluttered. What was that? Looking out, Barry jumped when a woman smiled back at him. She wore a mask. Barry cursed. He hated Paragon! He leaned on the horn to warn the guys. More fluttering. Now she was in front of the truck. She had wings and her hands were smoking. She punched through the radiator. Boiling water sprayed out. She punched again, the truck shuddered, the hood crumpled, and the engine died. Barry fled out the back.

The guys were just standing there. Barry yelled, “It’s a hero!”
They backed up. Glass shattered and the winged woman entered.
“Hello boys. Little late to be shopping, don’t cha think?”

The guys stepped back, looking for a way out. Low laughter wafted from behind them.
“What are you losers afraid of? Its Black Falconn. She’s on the Cook’s Electronics commercials. This is a wanna-be movie star, not a cape.”

Tremor stepped up front. He pulled a ceramic figurine from his leather jacket.
“OK boys, scatter. Meet at the usual place. I’ll take care of this one.”

He threw the figurine on the floor, shattering it. Black Falconn was thrown off balance as the ground buckled and heaved. The floor burst, scattering chunks of cement. A giant creature of stone stood before her.

“I was looking forward to testing myself against a real hero, But you’ll have to make do.”

The creature swung a massive fist, it caught Black Falcon and slammed her into the truck. Even with her shields, she felt that. Raising her hand, she summoned a staff cracking with energy and blasted the creature, knocking it back.

“What the…” Tremor fumbled with something in his jacket. Better give him something to occupy his time, BF thought. With a gesture, she opened a gate to the netherworld at his feet. Dark tentacles reached out entwining him. Otherworldly screams of torment escaped from the black pit. Sometimes the netherworld scared her.

The creature was getting up. Black Falconn leapt to attack raining rapid-fire blows upon it’s chest. Black energies from the netherworld cracked and split the rock. The creature roared in frustration, spewing a cone of super-heated sand and rock. She was engulfed and knocked back. “I just washed my hair!” She thought.

The creature pulled a two handed attack and missed. BF again leapt, reaching out with her left hand. Black energies released by her touch, siphoned its life force into the netherworld. A section of the creature’s chest fell away crumbling into gravel. Again, she delivered a rapid-fire series of blows, smashing her way right through the creature. It fell in ruin behind her.

Black Falconn turned to face Tremor. The netherworld gate had closed. He was shaken, but not out. His fists were encased in stone.
“I expected my elemental to finish you, movie star. No matter. I can do this better myself”

Black Falconn said nothing, but summoned her staff. A wave of energy blasted him against the far wall smashing an array of monitors. Snarling, he rose from the wreckage. She was there to meet him with a rapid-fire series of punches, He staggered at the impact, black smoke blinded him. He swung wildly. Then he felt an almost gentle touch on his chest. He gasped. It felt like a piece of his soul was ripped away. He fell into a dark abyss.

Back Falcon stayed until the police arrived. They interviewed her, and hauled Tremor off to the Zig. She searched the area, but the gang had gotten away. The store’s security cameras had caught the entire battle, The next morning the dramatic fight was all over the news. She never saw it, though. She was fast asleep.
