I saw and tried Champions at the NYCC and wasn't at all impressed by it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you go to the next NYCC (10/2010) let me know and we can meet up. I have been to the past two and had a blast each time.

That is, if you are not an underaged kid...

Thanks man. I worked in as much recharge as possible without spending too much money. +HP & +end came along easy enough and I do have Tough/Weave putting in some work on the build also.

I did not focus on exotic res/def...does 17% Psi defense help or is it better to throw those slots into something else?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It seemed to me that I ended up with a TON of resistance to everything except Psi. I ended up with 12% resistance and 17% defense to it.

For my fire/fire brute I focused on +recharge, +hp, +end and +psi defense from IO set bonuses. Any other set bonuses were gravy.

Looks like I am sitting at:

    2057 hp
    118 endurance
    55% recharge (before hasten)
    17% psi defense

My resistance numbers are great, thanks to Tough and Weave. Some folks do not like dipping into the Fighting pool, and you should review their numbers before taking them.
  4. Gratz to the winner!

Love the second place shirt - is that the city from the New York Comic Con incorporated into it?

EDIT: no, it is not. Faulty memory here...
  5. I am still sifting through my notes on this, and will have a note to you soon Az.

There's a specific set of platforms that infinitely spawn Toxics in Grandville. Basically if you head towards the tower and make a left and go up the ramp, I want to say it's that level.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Sounds right to me.

And the contact that this badge unlocks has the worst story arc in CoV.
  7. I wish the description of this IO did not state that it is +3% resistance to all. It would be better if it stated the bonus that each AT actually gets after modification.

I slotted this on my brute today, and was surprised to see that I have +2.25% resistance and not +3% resistance. I then slapped my head because I remembered running into this issue with the Impervium Armor Psionic Resistance IO last year (same numbers as Shield Wall).

I know, I know...all this complaining over a lost 0.75%. I guess it is just the principal of the thing that bothers me.
  8. I have run into a lot of TA custom critters in MA missions - tired of having BLIND stacked on me.

    IO slotted - thanks agian.
  9. TY for the quick response!

AFK in respec mode now . . .
  10. Does the Rectified Reticle +Perception IO help reduce being blinded by critters in PvE?

Its description talks about increasing the perception radius. I want to make sure it does what I hope it does (reduce being blinded) before I respec it into my brute.

    Good Bye

    Sorry to hear that B.B.
  12. Looks cool!

Now that I am no longer chasing MA badges, this is going to the top of my TO PLAY list.

    600 ! red side

I am recalling my villain hitting 600 badges announcement. The upcoming changes to the MA badges will leave me significantly under 600.

Name: Kung Fu on the Loose Arc ID: 77533

i played this arc with obvious girl, my MA/SR scrapper, on rugged and with the locksmith of love, my ILL/RAD controller, on heroic.

ok this is a great little kung fu arc. it is nice, simple and stright forward. if you are looking for a martial arts arc you got a good one going here. it is a little on the short side, but that is hardly a quibble.

i do not have much to say in the negative. one thing is that first map is a little buggy. the burning forest variant was pulled for several reasons. one of them was appearing and disappearing mobs. this map has it a little too. i had one occasion with a group appearing right in front of me out of nowhere. it was not much of a problem but it occasionally happens with a boss. the bad guys were a little difficult but not unfairly so. i liked the looks and the combinations. too bad i did not see any of the bosses. this would be a fun arc to play with a scrapper team.

otherwise it is a nice neat little arc and it was highly enjoyable to play with my MA/SR scrapper. i could not take the EB with her on rugged, so i reran it with my ILL/RAD troller and took him on heroic. i really enjoyed this arc. good luck with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you for playing and reviewing my arc. I appreciate the note regarding the burning forest version of the first map used - I will have to keep an eye on it, but so far so good.

The bosses will spawn for a group of three (from my testing) and make things....much more interesting.

    Thanks again!

Great poster - I will have to give your arc a go today.

FYI, searching for 'Kung Fu' in the MA will also bring up my story arc. Folks should double check to make sure they chose the correct arc.

I suggest taking out the ambush or toning down the boss a bit. A brute can take that heat better than a Corrupter and when your custom mobs can inflict stun/immob/hold yada yada, that starts wandering into the realm of "OMG I can't beat this guy." People who don't have a chance don't vote well.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Quoted for truth.

I played it on the lowest difficulty setting, with the EB scaled down to a boss, using a character heavily slotted with IOs. Having the main bad guy shrugging off my strongest hits and healing himself was NOT cool. I burned an entire Inspiration tray and only managed to get him below half health once...at which point an ambush triggered.

Last kung-fu movie I saw, the final battle was one-on-one - not a horde of minions rushing the hero while he's facing off versus the villain. The premise is interesting, but the second mission was absolutely horrible. I rated it two stars.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you for playing my arc and for providing good feedback for me to use.

I agree that the ambush at the end is in poor form - it has been removed. This should give the final fight a more traditional 1-on-1 feel to it (a la Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris).

The EB (scaled to a Boss when you played) is a MA / Regen scrapper. The /Regen is set to extreme. If I set it to hard, the EB will lose Integration, Revive and Moment of Glory. If I could, I would remove Revive and MoG from him now. Hopefully the upcoming MA changes will allow me to do just that. I agree that it is frustrating to fight a critter for a long time and make no progress.

Again, thank you for your time and help.

Thank you for taking the time to play my arc - your commentary and thoughts are very much appreciated.

You identified some good areas for me to tweak - I never realized how annoying the same patrol comments could be until you highlighted it. I also agree that the final ambush is not needed.

I have made the following changes:

    - All patrol commentary is really not needed, and has been removed.

    - The ambush at the end is in poor form, and has been removed to give a more epic 1-on-1 feel to the last fight

Again, thank you for your time and comments. You (and others) are really helping the game by doing these reviews.
