Thanks for the kind thoughts gang. I'm still not sure which of the 5 stages of grief I'm on since the studio shut down, but it's whichever one that hits when you realize that the nearest 7-11 is a stateline away.
I don't mean to nitpick, but I'm technically not a dev, but I am a member of Paragon Studios. Devs are the folks like Matt and Tim who do the real work, I just make them look good on a shoestring budget.
Though many would say that I'm a backseat wanna-be designer at heart.... -

I'm thinking we go ahead with plans for a get-together at the end of the month (12/1), while the forums are up. Then we can shoot for something next year for those who are occupied.
Now that I'm more familiar with the area, maybe Crabtree mall might be more centrally located compared to Southpoint? -
No worries all, we'll start planning a meet for after the holidays that more folks can attend.
And I'll definitely have swag by then. -
The way they're supposed to work is you claim them, you get the buff. And then you get a temp power that you can grant to someone else at which point they get the buff as well.
So there's a shared component, but the item itself is not transferable once you claim it. At least it shouldn't be. -

1) I can't say specifically for Ouro portal, but the term "Temp Power" rapidly grew beyond what it originally meant, and became a catch-all phrase for any power that we wanted to grant to players outside of Power Sets. For example, Ninja Run. There were plans to better organize these so they'd be easier to access.
2) It was a fun idea that I had after seeing what Black Scorpion did with the Holiday Gift Giving temp power (there it is again), and soon after, the Cupid Arrow. If you think about it, all three powers work the same way. That is, create a power that makes it look like you're hitting another player, and then have the player react as if they were hit.
A few folks (not me) around the studio were pretty hardcore about Ultimate Frisbee, including the director of development, who wanted some way to incorporate it into the game for a while. It dawned on me that we could reuse the gift giving tech to create a Flying Disc power. It was always meant as a fun item, nothing more. Which isn't to say that the tech itself was frivolous, far from it.
We did want to set it up so that the German Shepherd pet could interact with it, but stuff happened. -
