Quote:I scream like a girl because unlike you, I'm I touch with my inner feelings. I'm a very sensitive person who is comfortable with all facets of my persona. You scream like a girl, OOOOH. And being short just gives me easy access to your shins.
And you kick like a girl, too. -

Generally, if you have to ask, "is this a good idea?" It's probably not a good idea.
Let's do the right thing here and eat dead horses, versus beating them.
The number of people who changed their minds due to a discussion on the Internet is zero. -
Back on track. Lets please table any discussions that are derailing conversations. We've all had enough last words and one more bit. If its from a few pages ago, its probably not something we should be replying to. If anyone still needs to get something out of their system, Go. Hunt. Kill. Skulls.
I really don't think Hitstreak wants to log on at the crack of dawn to teach people to play nice with each other. -

Quote:Tim (Black Scorpion) used to joke that as due to his Irish ancestry, he and Rob (tech lead) should be mortal enemies (Rob was actually from England). It was a hatred I tried to fan the flames of, but alas, I failed. We were all too good friends with each other.Well I'm buggered then... seeing as it appears I am the resident Englishman on the forums right now.

Quote:I can't address any speculation , but I do understand why that question is so polarizing. This game was, and is a huge part of all of our lives. Losing COH is devastating. We'll all move on, but it still won't change the fact that something so important to us is gone forever......
On the last sentence though, it seems hard to push past the divide. The only reason this debate is even happening right now, is a disagreement about whether people should be allowed to hope that CoH may have a future.
It's like believing that Twinkies will be with us forever, then finding out that nope, they're gone for good! (See what I did there?)
We've all got different ways to deal with our grief. But for now, lets not take it out on each other. Unfortunately, we'll have a lot if time to be angry, but we shouldn't take the time we do have to be angry with each other. -
Quote:The Evil Face of Marketing scoffs at your feeble weapons. Pardon me while I stop to feast on the tears of starving Koalas...... but I think a lot of the people here have some built up aggression where the closure is concerned, and they have to take it out somewhere...

I'm actually going to miss these arguments. Even at the most heated, it's still a load more cordial and well-intentioned than the type of discussions you'll see anywhere else.
With that aside, with just a couple weeks left to go before the forums go dark, can't we spend that time supporting each other? We all have at least one thing in common here. -
Awright, executive decision time.
We're going to shoot for our first get-together for Sunday, December 2nd. It's the earliest we can organize a get-together while the forums are still up. And I won't have access to my swag box til then.
It'll be at Crabtree Valley Mall. Probably around lunchtime, so let's say 11:30, which will also help us beat the crowds and get parking. I'm thinking we'll do the Cheesecake Factory, since their menu should cover just about everyone's preferences.
I'll work out more specifics with folks via e-mail, and follow up in a new thread. -

We actually got a plaque for the # of game updates. It used to be in the front lobby.

AMG LEAK!!!
I never got to play with Psionic Melee, alas. When I first heard about it, I didn't think it'd be very fun. But once I saw the incredible VFX work Leo "Honey Badger" Can't Spell His Last Name put into it, I knew I had to check it out.
I'd probably have made at least one Matrix-homage character for marketing assets. -

Because my jokes are always funny and timeless, I'm going to repost what I said to him earlier.
Happy 10th Birthday, TheNet. Now you're old enough to go out and train to be a Pokemon Master. It's time for you to go pick your very first Pokemon!
(This is funny because he's actually 14 years old).
