  1. Just FYI anyone checking Omega Factor or looking for invite. My Global has changed it is no longer @Blacier it is now @Rage I
  2. I love the suggestion. I think a few "Origin Specific" powersets would not break the game and might make it fun. I particularly like the idea of say a magic set and a maybe a Tech set. After all we have devices etc..

    And I think some of you are taking it too seriously. They were suggested ideas for a new powerset that was magic based. Instead of critisizing maybe you have alternatives to the concept. Instead of picking apart someones idea until you've made them wish they had never posted it?

    And I do have a question? WOW why so negative this was a suggested new powerset from someone that is obviously passionate about it. And they apparently put some thought into it. Hows about not chewing them a new one just because they posted an idea.

    I like the concept for sure.
  3. Server Maint is performed twice per week on a regular basis. Mon and Fri from 6am to 8am Pacific Standard Time. So if you are in a Diff time zone calculate accordingly. Every now and then it runs longer, but they are usually up 10 to 15 minutes early on a regular basis.
  4. Omega Factor we are currently Top10
    we also run an Alt SG: Omega Factor Black Ops. As well we run our 50's only elite group: Omega Legends.

    VG/Redside is: Anarchy Alliance

    Public Relations: omegafactor.org (no WWW. if you add this it will not work)

    Peak hours: pretty much 24/7 someone is on most large teams run 5pm to midnight EST weeksday and 'round the clock on weekends.

    PVP: The group as a whole is new to PVP (as a group) but we do a moderate amount. SG runs Friday Night FIghts in pocket D every friday night

    Power Leveling: I guess you could say we do quite a bit but we mish so often we consider normal running as power leveling anymore.

    Drama? Only what you bring with you. We really have none. Like to keep it that way!

    Omega Main: base is max size with overabundance of Prestige. The base is fully functional with transport to all Zones, storage etc...
    Black Ops: Priamarily for Storage and alts
    Legends base: well you will have to see this one.

    Requirements: There are no requirements for becoming a member of the SG. There are however requirements for promotions along the way (all the way up to and including General rank) First Promo req is 20,000 prestige. Your mentor is then responsible for filling you in on requirements for promo to the next level and beyond.

    Other: just FYI we have SG uniforms, One slot will be required for anything other than recruit status We have voice chat and majority of our members use it as it is the best way to bond with SG mates. Not to mention just makes the game more enjoyable.

    Desription: Omega Factor was founded in the aftermath of a leaderless group. I wanted to make a place where people could play feel productive and enjoy the game with all the game had to offer. Our super group excells at the rise to the challenge in any aspect. We participate in all of Pinnacles Epic events. Hami Raids/Ship Raids etc.. And encourage our members to be upstanding in the Pinnacle Community.

    Leaders/Recruiters:
    @Rage I or (Burnin Rage) {Rage as I am called} Founder- Omega Factor
    @Snipern44 (Cat)
    @Nexus I
    @Aceovhartz (Ace)
    @Blondiva
    By contacting any of the Above members of the Leaders Council you may inquire about the group

    Or simply contact us In Game by joining our public global channel. "Omega Apps" and say hi one of the leaders will be right with you!

    Voice Chat: we use Ventrillo server it is strongly urged that all members participate. But is NOT required!

    Well the game could charge character upkeep for a start. Which would be a nice nerf to RPERS that hang around emoting or that slow down the game with keybound speaches about their high principles or low ambitions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ok LOL i am not an RP'er I have Bio's for most of my toons. Have a few key binds, nothing lengthy by any sense of the word, but wow now we are really getting silly. Charging character upkeep lol? C'mon

    [/ QUOTE ]

    LOL why not ?? It even makes good sense from a RP* standpoint. You have to maintain your gear, practice your powers, cultivate sources of information. Inf as upkeep nicely represents that.

    *This just goes to show you, that you can argue anything for RP reasons even the destruction of RPing in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Why not because I have better things to spend my influence on such as making my toons more playable, and not having to worry about degrading equipment or slipping powers because I havent practiced them is one of the reasons I play CoH.
    If I wanted to spend all of my hard earned influence on stupid garbage like that I would go play WoW or CO. Personally I prefer it this way. So I play CoH.
    Good question though lol.

    to be fair most people didn't actually read any of that

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Who's fault is it if they didnt read it thats the funniest thing I have ever heard. It was posted in game and on forums. The warnings were isssued, and people continued. The game isn't catering to RPer's its catering to the majority and getting people to run the missions and run different content. It's moving away from farming. Granted You cannot remove farming altogether. As you nerf one and there will always be another. As well, Farmers are apart of the community.

    Some people find comfort and control in repetition, while others abhor it. Alot of your more anti-social players are badgers. The CoH community is very Diverse. Many people play it for various reason. Costumes, Farms, TF's, Just flying around and chatting with friends etc. I am just saddend that AE was so exploited that we have to lose rewards gained because the warnings were ignored by a few.

    Rp minded? dont think so.

    But there is a fine line between controlling ones "paid to play" privileges (The customers) and moving away from farming etc... ... ... I just hope this is the community consensus and not just someone mad because their roll out didnt pan out the way they thought it should.

    I would attribute that to the skill of the player playing the 'match' against the lack of skill from the 'bucket of water' Can the match win in equal conditions? Absolutely not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Nice comparisons. But skill is exactly what i was talking about and this will be my last post on the subject because I have found two truths to be FACT in CoX. and that is that "1:Hard core PVP'ers are always right. and 2: They will argue until their dieing breath." I PVP and I enjoy it but its not my mainstay. I dont farm or Run TF's solely for the purpose of Furthering the existence of my PVP toons. The examples are great but the cant win in exact conditions..I agree.

    But there will be and NEVER be exact conditions!
    2 toons with an identicle build are still not exact. The reason being is that you have 2 different controllers at their helm! So one Fire/Ice blaster may rely on a fireball where as the other may be trying to move in to hit freezing touch etc.
    Just to clarify the skill even further lets go back in time to console. Take street fighter for example. everyone has access to the same fighters and same AT's there is not a person on any type of character or AT including the boss that cannot be defeated by any in the game. One person can master all of the AT's and fares well. The next person struggles with the same toon in a match. Why? Skill of the player and mastering abilities. And yes Teaming is superior. it's more fun and lends to much more randomness.

    But as for not being able to win in exact conditions we may never know becasue that will never happen as long as there are different controllers at the helm of the toons.

    And as for the broken powers and defenses they need to go, to make it equal across the board.

    And one more question?

    If they are not being exploited to any degree why the whining at the Status equalization and why do hard core PVP'ers take certain powers (that everyone knows are broken still) as opposed to playing their toons the way they prefer or would if they werent confined to certain powersets and defenses becasue it's a PVP toon? Better yet.. Why is there a need for a distinction? (Becasue this works better than that in PVP) than in PVE And this power stinks in PVE but is broken in PVP.
  9. Ticket Vendors are great in AE. And I agree with alot of what is said. the question is what is the best thing to buy with tickets. After unlocking all of the content. You can perform random recipe rolls. Gold is OK I generally roll silver and bronze and end up with a few really nice treasures. Prior to 35 I use them on enhacnements only. I was in heaven when I realized that you could outfit your toons with DO's and SO's etc.. with the tickets. I am somewhat disappointed with the Devs reacting and not doing a study prior to the Nerf. and if they did then I am even more disappointed. Now you have to run so many missions in order to get enough tickets to even 1/2 way outfit your toons. I'm thinking at least the min on the ticket bonus per Arc should be enough to adequately provide enhancements for the characters should they level in a mission. At least for some of the tougher AE missions.

    I love the fact also that they sell SO's and DO's at +3's so they last for a few levels and you dont have to run to the store and put your team on hold "Hang on I have to get a few enahcements" Buying them at +3's gives you more qualtiy playing time and less time in the store purchaseing and combining. Give the Devs a 10 ++ on that one.

    Hehehehe...This guy has got a good read on PvP, unlike the whiners in the "Can we fix PvP" thread. Hey Ares, I'd like to put a toon in your SG as well: global - @galactor.

    I agree with you on the PVP issue My Blaster is the same as he was the day he hit 50 with exception of the IO Sets. I like to play him the way i built him. I PVP occaisionally. Win some lose some. I think the cry babies wanting PVP fixed mean that they want an UBER power set that can destroy anything. I think that if the devs nerfed ICE/ICE blasters to the point they could defeat anything in PVP today tomorrow every hard core PVP'er would have an ICE/ICE Blaster. It cheapens the fun for the majority( and yes I said MAJORITY) who would like to PVP or just be able to go into RV for badges without haveing someone PONE you over and over. At least now they are strating to think twice. There are a few things that are still broken but slowly and surely they are getting fixed.

    PVP should be about skill just as much as it is about POWER. And it should be on an even footing. Having single BROKEN Powers and Broken untouchable Defenses that any NOOB can exploit is not PVP. Sorry!
  11. I am a Blaster hearted player. Most of my toons fly (with exception of my PVP builds) I love the travel powers and the vet reward that allows you to take the travel power without the pre-cursor is brilliant. I was actually hoping that they give thought to removing Whirlwind from superspeed and replacing it with a Supersonic flight! Even if it was just a 2-3 min click instead of a toggle. I know alot of Flyers that would jump at the opportunity to create a Sonic Boom and warp across skyway or elsewhere lol
  12. CoX is in no way in danger of loseing its player base to CO. The few (very few) that actually leave CoH to play CO we can more than likely do without anyway.
