(how long did the Thorne twin sketches take?)
[/ QUOTE ]
Hard to say tbh. They were the first two I sketched, and I had the TV on at the time. It took me the double episode of Stargate: SG1 and the beginning of the following Stargate: Atlantis to get those two done, but since I spent a chunk of that time looking up to watch Jack O'Neill save us all from the Goa'uld over and over again, I can't be accurate
Sometimes it's quick, sometimes - if I can't fix upon a pose, for example - it can take ages. The Thorne twins weren't too bad - but I did try and tighten them up a bit to make them clearer. The others were much simpler and took no time at all, really (and it was quicker to erase Libby's lower legs than redraw them in the proper proportions)

I asked Dan why Rosa was tied to a chair...

It must be that wicked Dr Cybernoid again... -
Ta *blush*
The first two did, I admit, take longer than 30 mins each, but if I can't stick to the 30 or 40 mins per sketch I will run out of November before I'm finished! -
Well this was like pulling teeth - the only way I can meet the target is to allow no more than 30 minutes or so per sketch, which means I can't fiddle around to tighten them up or - horror! - fix stuff I'm not happy with (which is a LOT!).
Still, these are just sketches, not works or art - so here's the first batch:
Sketch #1: Rosalin Thorne
Sketch #2: Roselin Thorne
Sketch #3: Leatherette
Sketch #4: Liberty Girl -
Liberty Girl would have wanted Hillary in the primaries, but is behind Obama now. She doesn't openly discuss politics, so wouldn't talk about it to anyone outside those she's close to.
Doc Bindweed likes the mavericks so will be voting for the Nader/Gonzalez ticket, as will Firearm, who can't resist a lost cause -

...Dan is doing sketches too (assuming he's still alive after the weekend)
[/ QUOTE ]
Alive but less well, since Saturday's firework show was held in a field 3 inches deep in mud and with the rain heaving down all night. Three and a half hours of being so wet (every - and I mean every shred of clothing, including the bottom-most layers, was soaked) and standing in a cold wind was just stupid so now we're all coming down with colds and other lurgies.
On the bright side I've started doodling and am less far behind schedule than if I hadn't -

You DO know I'm going to want a Dr Cybernoid alt now..

Sadly, I don't think the tentacles are doable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably don't need 'em now Ni's chopped 'em off -
Well I for one would but a Paragon City version of Cluedo! That's a brilliant idea! Keep 'em coming AP!
-
Really nice, Catz! I liked grumpy little Caramell too
- but also the very nice Ash & Kyle piccy.
Day Two and I'm already way behind... -
Only an hour?
Wow! Excellent stuff indeed. How do you work, DD? Do you draw using a tablet straight into a painting package? or do you scan pencil and paper and then work on top of that? Just very curious -
Excellent! Love it!
It's fun to see Libby in such good hands... and so many of them!
You DO know I'm going to want a Dr Cybernoid alt now.. -
And (replying to myself - cool!) I WILL be there, later than advertised, since I'm still nominally in charge of Junior (but really he's in control... parenting is a cruel sport invented to amuse children). Once the wife returns from work to save me, I'll scramble the jet and sortie over.
Or get a bus.
Whatever shows up first. -

I'd just like to say, in the full knowledge that Z IS going to kill me slowly when she sees this post, and even though I'm unable to attend...
I think Z should get some goodies for arranging this meet up! A yellow ingame title, or a PPD code, or game time... SOMEthing at least! She's put a lot of hard work into arranging all this and it should not go unrecognized!
Now, I must prepare to flee for my life.

Liberty Girl has no room under her spandex for winter woollies.
She'll just have to stand near a fire tanker.
For several months. -
I'm trapped in a RL thing Sunday evening, so Libby will have to be fudged somehow - probably will make it late, but I'm not in control of my own destiny! (Actually, I haven't been for years...

Sharrapu looked around at the bar: not at the patrons but at their drinks.
"What are these?" her voice deep and crackling but strangely hot and smooth beneath, like deep magma. She indicated the various glasses of liquid. "Bring me one. I think I thirst." -
The orange skinned woman stared up at the darkening sky and scowled. Looks like rain. You don't like rain, do you, Nergie... The voice inside her head taunted her, and the orange woman leapt across the street toward a building she hadn't noticed before. A bar. At least it would be dry...
Stepping inside, Sharrapu took a deep breath and analyzed the scents. Was this a stroke of good fortune? These smells... that barman - a vampire? Another vampire... a very ancient and regal one, by the smell of her... some powerful demons...
Oh no you don't... Why don't you go home? Home is warm. And dry. You must be tired. You need rest. Not this. NOT THIS...
"Quiet, girl" Sharrapu conjured a psychic firestorm in her mind and the voice in her head screamed and was silenced.
Casting her eyes about the dark room cagily, Sharrapu stepped towward the bar, brushing her wild mane of strawberry blonde hair from her face. She watched the clientele to see who was eyeing her orange body, clad in nothing but strips of burned and twisted hell-forged iron and high, glistening black boots with outrageously high heels.
"What, " she asked the barman, her voice surprisingly deep and hoarse, "is the purpose of this place?" -
I'd been reading about CoH on the interweb since before US launch, and would have subbed to a US account if I had a decent PC, but as it was I couldn't upgrade until Feb )5 anyway (my birthday
) We planned to switch internet providers and phone service in Feb 05, and I brought everything forward because my birthday wasn't for another two weeks after launch. As it was, the new PC arrived with the spec to run CoH but the phone line wasn't ready. I didn't enter Atlas Park (on Defiant!
) until 14th Feb.
Ahh - Lusca was big fun back in the day. Also - my first contact outside Atlas was in Kings Row. I didn't know about trains so tried to hover over the war walls... what a divvy... -
Started in Feb 2005 a week late because BT couldn't schedule the new line in time
Made a few 50s and then filled all 8 slots on the account - so started a second account and then bobbed between them, eventually without having more than one alive at any one time. So my ancient account only has 36ish months on it, and my live account (funny how the second account became my "main"
) has about 30 months (I really can't remember though).
I tried WoW, GW, Eve online, RF Online (shudder), Archlord (ugh), AoC... but nothing really tempted me away from CoH, because, really, they didn't have the community I've grown used to (aww, group hug!). I'm looking forward to really big changes at some point in the future - I'd love to see a "going rogue" option whereby heroes and villains could swap sides. And I'm wondering if there will ever be a CoH 2, and if there is, what will happen to CoH? All food for thought. Meanwhile, this'll keep going 'til it stops -
It's less than 150 miles to the NEC, yet the great British railways can manage nothing better than a four-hour trip with no buffet car and hardly any seats. At less than 40mph I don't believe that the 21st century trains we have to put up with have improved since the early days of coal...

Probably still nursing her bruised ego.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not just her ego that got a bruising -
I have no slots on my main account but although my other account is canceled, the subs don't run out until the following week, so I can make a wee Libby for the night if that will help.
And by the way.. Columbia will not be attending... -
Libby already told Rich at GG that she's looking forward to coming - and she'll be wearing an unsuitable dress...

Even if I can scrape up the money after having to repair the car, I still won't have the car for the day, and it's over four hours by train, which makes a day trip quite tricky.
TBH I kind of assumed there may be no plans for the usual NCSoft/DTWT presence after Rockjaw et al were laid off, so I neglected to plan ahead...*facepalms* -
I bet Richard's limo is pretty well stocked with booze, music and whatever anyone could want that could conceivably fit in a massive luxury car. 200 miles in one of those and they'd be dribbling, slurring wrecks before they got to Canada
