Honestly, I understand it's my fault for selecting only two powers...but I was just coming up with ideas.

I completely forget that you could slot IO's in the power.
If you add in the origin attack, you should be able to bounce around with Smite, Shadow Punch, Brawl and Origin in between Shadow Mauls. It's a lot easier if you add in Air Superiority.

EDIT: C&E, you're late. No, it hasn't been done.

Even with the no endurance cost...I still find myself just waiting to attack.
I'm curious as to what's causing this. What powersets are we talking about here?

I ask because with the use of the tier1 and 2 attacks with brawl and the origin power, you should not be waiting much, if at all, with just about anything out there.
  4. So that I can 6 slot it with damage procs and some acc for a high damage, no end cost attack that I can set on auto?

    Level 1: Brawl -- GS-%Dam(A), Hectmb-Dam%(3), Mako-Dam%(3), C'ngImp-Acc/Dmg(5), T'Death-Dam%(5), GS-Acc/Dmg(7)

That gives 53% in acc and dam with 4 damage procs. With no recharge, it will fire off every 1.056 seconds (using arcanatime) doing 34.46 damage before the procs.

    The procs will add:
    GS: 14.36
    H: 35.343
    MB: 14.36
    ToD: 10.77

Total average damage of chain: 109.23 every 1.056 seconds for a average DPS total of 103.5. While you won't be soloing pylons with it, it's probably still a bad idea.
  5. Glad I hit refresh. Werner beat me to it.

All I can add is that my claws/sr is a prime example of a case where adding hasten in a void accomplishes nothing. There's nothing in his secondary that benefits from it. His attack chain will only be tightened up by add hasten AND the alpha +recharge slot. That's actually true for both his single target and aoe chains.

I also find it somewhat laughable that someone is talking about inflexibility in combat about individuals who consistently pull off ridiculous crap as a matter of normal play.

I'd go with 100% failure to save one or the other. My pre-emptive answer, I save my wife and let 10 unknown people die. I won't deny that those I choose to love are vastly more important to me than the unwashed masses. (Did I just give away far too much of my "hero" status?)
  7. Question #7: Who judges that the probability of success is only 50%? Question should be tossed out.
  8. You just had to make it your ma/sr.... I'll be back in a few hours. Off the cuff, I always ended up with 6 of the +accuracy bonuses (as in the one you get from LotG and something else) on my BZB builds.

True, but those wimps get wiped out as soon as they pop their heads up.
  10. Actual gameplay will of course vary. I didn't include the 10 out of 70 seconds that a brute with double stacked rage puts out zero damage. (Not counting sands of mu and the staff/wand, of course.) And the pylon thread in the scrapper forum (yea, scrappers don't get SS, but some brutes have posted in there) has dm/sd on the top quite heavily.

This brings up the Power up boost on Dark to be about constant. Do not know if this is 300%, but I kills lots lol.
    Rage x2 = 160%
    versus
    Soul Drain w/ 3 enemies = 64%
    Soul Drain w/ 10 enemies = 120%

    Fury = 150%

So, SS brute with double stacked rage and full fury = 310%

DM brute with a saturated soul drain and full fury = 270%

Add in saturated Shield Against All Odds:
    SS/SD = 375%
    DM/SD = 335%
  12. I was lead brute on an LRSF last night. Not even with 5 level 53 AVs pounding on my skull did I see my fury go above 75%.

That's the new cap, like it or not. As folks have mentioned, because the villain alignment power lets you tap 100% (I haven't used mine yet, so I've no clue how long it lasts) the bar won't be changing.

In the end, brutes still have better HP, better dam-res caps and still dish out near scrapper level damage. Quit your whinin.

Damn. Melcor needs some lovin. Edit: Ooops, too late anyway. Gratz, Dechs!
  14. I'm confused, A. First you say that tanking is heavily negatively impacted by the lack of solid damres/extra HP, but then you talk about how easy it will be for a tank to softcap.

Doesn't one balance out the other?

I'll give you that tanks rely on their mez protection more, so make it another toggle for 'em. If the devs are going to go ahead and tweak it anyway for tanks, why not take that extra step?

Have the scaling dam-res grant more as you describe, starting at 75% health and capping out at 75% dam-res.

Done. If a tank can't tank with softcapped defense, an average of 25% dam-res, backed up to 45ish with tough, a taunt aura in evasion and tank level hitpoints, that tank is doin it wrong.
  15. I farmed my butt off in order to get the +def and +damres unique PvP IOs for my main. Now that I have them, I've not been sure what to do with my game time. Been cranking up new alts, none have touched the fitness pool.

Wait mode is in full force now. Wish they'd hurry it up.
  16. Should SR be altered? Yes, it should.

Same power order as brutes? Yea, I think that would help.

Given the same taunt aura as brute evasion? I want it for MY SR scrapper, but the answer is no. Brutes get higher HP than scrappers. Their inherent depends on being attacked. There's a lot of people that don't want their SR scrappers to suddenly be taking on a lot more aggro. I've been bugging Castle about it since it was added to brute evasion. It ain't happenin for scrappers even IF anything else gets changed.

SR proliferation to tanks? Yes, it should happen. Straight port from brute SR. Problems with it be damned.
  17. At one point, BAB had just about figured out a way to remove redraw completely from the weapon sets, no matter what other power was used.

If I recall correctly, something about shields broke completely when that fix was put in, so it got pulled.

With BAB gone, I have to wonder if anyone else will ever be picking up the ball.
  18. Ok, A, lemme see if I have a handle on this.

To calculate necessary recharge values for a given attack chain, here are the new steps:

Get all cast times and base recharge times
Calculate arcanatime for each cast time
Select power you wish to determine rec-red amount needed
Add up arcanatimes of all the intervening attacks
Add to that the difference between the attack's cast and arcanatime
    Add another .26 seconds

Subtract that total from the base recharge value of the attack and then divide the remainder by that same total. You now have the amount of total recharge needed.

    Example using scrapper claws:
    Followup: Cast- .83 Atime- 1.056 Recharge- 12
    Focus: Cast- 1.17 Atime- 1.32 Recharge- 6.4
    Slash: Cast- 1.33 Atime- 1.584 Recharge- 4.8
    Strike: Cast- 1.17 Atime- 1.32 Recharge- 3.2
    Swipe: Cast- .83 Atime- 1.056 Recharge- 1.7

First, we look at fu, slash, focus and calculate for FU's necessary recharge:
2.904 is the amount of atime between FUs.
.226 is the difference between cast and atime
    .26 is the odd chunk
    3.39 is the total
(12-3.39)/3.39 = 254% recharge in followup should work.

This result is not backed up by in game testing.
I'll assume that I'm doing it wrong. Perhaps I should only be dividing by the original atimes+the difference between the cast and atime?
(12-3.39)/3.13 = 2.75 or 275% recharge needed in FU for that chain. Again, I've been at 275% recharge and there's a solid delay before followup can fire again.

Either I'm completely missing something simple here or something is very wrong with the idea of recharge starting at the end of the cast time and the .26 addon.

EDIT: Wait one... think I see where I'm screwing up. The .26 needs be be subtracted...
    2.904+.226-.26 = 2.87 seconds between followups
(12-2.87)/2.87 = 3.18 or 318% recharge needed in followup.... ok, I could see that variance occurring but won't be able to test that specific chain until I-19.

Let's go with what I tested eariler: swipe, slash, swipe
    1.584 atime seconds between swipes
    .226 between cast and atime
    -.26 addon
(1.7-1.55)/1.55 = .097 or 9.7% recharge needed.... still not right as it was determined that 15% recharge got swipe to the point where half of the time the not ready sound went off.
  19. Claws DPA based on Arcanatime in order of best to worst:

    Scrapper:
    Focus
    Slash
    Strike
    Followup
    Swipe

    Brute:
    Focus
    Slash
    Strike
    Swipe
    Followup

The highest possible single target chain for claws on both brutes and scrappers is followup, focus, slash, repeat. Edit: (Until someone works out a better one. )
  20. Strike has better DPA. It adds more DPS to an attack chain.

Swipe has a better animation and flows with an attack chain rather than being a clunky add on like strike.

If all you care about is performance, choose strike. If you're more into aesthetics, choose swipe.

However, if you're just starting out, take 'em both. Dump the one you like less later on. Nothing quite like having a full attack chain at level 4.
  21. You can sleep when you're dead!

    /cracks whip

In all seriousness, thanks, A. Hope the data points to something conclusive.
