Just in case you missed 'em though....

During CoV Beta, they discovered that the slows and -recharge that are the secondary effect of Ice was interfering with Fury generation. For this reason, Ice was pulled as an option for Brutes. Later during the Beta, they tweaked the way that Fury worked. After they did this, they didn't go back to check how Ice would work with New Fury.

It is the belief among quite a few of us here that Ice would not be a such a disadvantage under New Fury as it was under Old Fury.

You left out how many other primaries and secondaries include powers that mitigate damage by halting/slowing the enemy's ability to attack, thus reducing fury generation.

I just got an HD 4870 and was having the no FSAA problem as well on catalyst 9.2. What fixed it was setting FSAA, Depth of Field, Bloom, Water Effects, and Desaturation all to off, and then set AA to 4x via the Catalyst Control. It was frustrating, though, since AA would not turn on if any of those settings was enabled to any extent on the ingame menu.

ER, the laptop I installed win7 on at first had a celeron proc and 512MB of RAM. It performs all normal work functions without issue. Exactly opposite of what I experienced with vista.

5:55pm stuck in extra sata 80GB drive to primary gaming rig. Disconnected 2 drives in use by primary XP install. Left IRAM connected.

6pm booted to Win7 dvd, nuked old partions, had Win7 create a new partition, which created a primary partition and a 200MB system partition, (yes, you can avoid the 200MB system partition, I didn't bother,) installed Win7 32bit.

6:20pm entered account name, password, chose home network, skipped homegroup setup

6:23pm Desktop Appears. (23 minute from boot to dvd to desktop. That's not bad at all.) 2 automatic updates prompted system restart.

No sound. Activated online. Grabbed Win7 beta driver.

Sound works. Grabbed latest Win7 Nvidia driver through Windows Update.

Video still works.

Copied CoH directory from workstation to gaming rig. Access workstation by use of start(?) button and typing in admin share for workstation. As I used the same username and password for both rigs, no security was asked for. Didn't track time to copy 2.88GB. Win 7 stated 5 mins to copy. Installed to c:\games\coh as I always do. No issues on install but I did kill off the UAC.

Had to manually set speakers for 5.1. Nvidia managed FSAA looks like it doesn't function in game, had to enable it in game to see it. Yes, Water was on Low, Desaturation FX, Bloom and DoF were all disabled. Same appeared to be true for Anisotropic Filtering. Set nvidia control panel to application managed on fsaa and af for this and any other games.

Other than that, no issues at all in the short time I played.

But what about my new earth/kin wartroller?

Is the processor hyperthreaded? If so, it should show up as two separate blocks in TaskManager under the Performance tab under CPU Usage History.

If it is, I'm betting that you don't have a PCI-Express slot, but rather an AGP slot. If that's true, it greatly narrows down your choices.

You state 1GB of RAM. Bump that to 2GB now while you're working on the video card thing.

If AGP is all you've got for video, you can snag a sapphire ati 3850 agp card for 125 bucks.

It WAS a big deal... right up until we could get a temp flight pack at level 5 by doing 3 paper/scanner missions and a mayhem/safegaurd.

Now? It's just a perk of rolling a HEAT. Saves you 5 levels of ground pounding. And 5 levels takes me about... oh, 30 minutes of street hunting? Solo.

As for taking 4 travel powers, that still locks you out of of all the other power pools.

Even with IOs you could not get that much recovery by lvl 8 (not counting purpled out 50s who exemp. )

Yup, it's so ridiculously game breaking for a regen scrapper to get QR at 4 and a WP tank to get it at 12. A handful of 5+ year vets getting stamina at 8 or 14, however they did it, would absolutely decimate any kind of balance this game ever had.

Actually, I thought your were talking about the odd halo reflection of the character over water on ATI cards set for Low Water.

I've heard of buildings showing up in the various ponds around Paragon, but my brain is telling me that this only occurred as a fluke with some older versions of ATI drivers.

I've got 4 50s now, was 5. 2 heroes, 2 villains. I scored a nice piece from Brandon McKinney of my two mains fighting each other.

My avatar over here is made up of all the art folks have made of Bill Z and a couple screenshots.

I'd love to add more to it, but if I let that gif get much larger, FatherXmas will beat me. But I'll take the beating happily if anyone else wants to draw Bill!
