If you have time to play mine I would appreciate it. It says Very Long in MA, but it really isn't. I'm not sure what designates how they choose the timeframe. But my first two missions are extremely quick. And the other two are more what I could medium then long.

    Attack of the Tinkers Toys!
    Arc ID: 5402
    Faction: Custom Enemy
Creator Global Name: @Listens to Wind
    Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis: A series of robberies has been taking place. Eye witnesses are claiming the perpetrators are toys.
    Mission Count: 4
Estimated Time to Play: 30-60 Minutes

A couple people have played it and it has four stars. But, I'm really looking for acutal feedback on it. It's nice that people who've played it - like it. But that doesn't tell me a whole lot.

    Thanks for playing!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mission 1: I love the custom critters. Very original.

Mission 2: Very short, but a cool boss and more unique toys. No clues and nothing about Tinker in the mission. Story needs to be tightened up around here.

Mission 3: Nice custom boss, but just more slaughtering of the same toys. Perhaps make this mission a little more unique. I'm not sure what to suggest, but it just needs something more.

Mission 4: I couldn't beat the EB because he would continually drain my End and the ambush by all the toys made it pretty tough solo. The helper didn't help too much. Being blinded every other mob got a bit annoying.

Overall: I'll give you 4 stars, but there is really a lot of untapped potential in your custom critters and story.

    Sure!

    Hit up #4625 "Call Me!"

It's a short, one mission story about a lost cell phone.

It's intended to be cute and fun, not particularly deep and meaningful.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Circle of Thorns is one of my favorite groups to fight. Nice simple mission, but I feel like there were some in jokes I didn't get. 4 stars.

    Arc Name: Operation: Discredit
    Arc ID:14724

    Morality: Heroic
Faction: Longbow, Council, PPD, Arachnos, Malta, Carnival of Shadows
Difficulty Level: Easy to Medium (at the very end) [suitable for solo, team, or casual play]
Estimated Time to Play: 1-2 hours if stealth isn't used.
Synopsis: The Sentinel of Liberty SG has been framed and arrested. They need your help to clear their name and restore their reputations as Heroes the public can count on.

Please give me feedback. PMs are greatly appreciated. ((Disclaimer: You, not the supergroup are the stars of this mission.))

This one looks pretty long and you have 6 ratings and 5 stars already so I'm gonna skip this one.

Can you try 15006 and 15707, its a two-parter with the title "War of the Worlds - The Anakim Invasion (part 1 and then part 2). Although its two stories, its mostly because I had so many custom chars that I ran out of space. Would appreciate some honest feedback. Initially I had it on test and at one point, someone rated it 4 star and had some suggestions which I made. Then another friend ran it and didn't like the changes (first one said: too many chars, so I removed some, 2nd one then said: too bland, needs more characters).

    Thanks!!!

I started this one, but could not defeat the Elite Bosses. The Boss I rescued to help me did not fight. No rating.

Mission: Architect Error: 0001 - A Bug in the System
Key Words: To find it quicky seach: Archeffect or Architect Error.
    ID: 23458
Story Description: The release of the Architect system was great! Heroes and Villains alike gathered round the computers to put their inventions to the test... Now mass chaos has surfaced. The Architect maker has gone mad with the Archeffect Virus!

Suggestion - Take a group, and PLEASE don't mistake the error messages for being serious. It's all a part of the fun!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Good mission, I enjoyed the custom group. I especially liked those little computer sparks. Good job, 5 stars.
  6. I just played a friend's mission: The Phantom's Love, arc #29180. It is fairly short, but fun mission. Please give it a try if you have a few minutes. It took me about 10-15 minutes to do the whole thing. I think you'll especially enjoy it if you like the Phantom of the Opera.

She has another arc #17615, The Alien Experiment that is fun as well.

I'd like my villain arc "Nobody of Consequence" (ARC number in sig) reviewed if you have time. Your Brute should be able to solo it.

It's an arc introducing a new group of "heroes" in Rogue Isles who have (I hope) an interesting origin. You, or course, are there to stop them.

One annoyance -- the first mission pits you against Crey and for some reason when you do the mission at level 50 all you get are frost and voltaic tanks. It gets a little tedious, but I did the mission on a level 44 and it had much more variety.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mission 1: Good mission. Great boss and nice setup for the story

Mission 2: Typical council map with council enemies, but really annoying leading three hostages all over that fairly large map.

Mission 3: I love the medium sized maps, which I think this was. Just the right amount of work to complete a mission. Your custom group is great and fits the story perfectly. What's on that server?!?

Mission 4: OK, the final boss was very cool and it was a good battle. To be honest though, I defeated her and then did not finish the mission. Its a big cargo ship loaded with longbow and is a defeat all. Just being honest, but that is no fun at all.

Great story, great custom characters but the hostage part and the final mission were downers. I gave it a 3. then after I rated it, I wished I gave it a four because it was only 2 things that were bad out of the entire thing - and those things are maybe just my personal preferences.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now I shall have to destroy you! Just kidding of course.

Since you didn't finish, you never got the final encounter with the contact, which is somewhat relevant. But I realized now that with all my changes to the arc, there's actually no longer a reason to have a defeat all goal, so I can take that out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you are going to fix that last mission, then I am going to go in and change it to 4 stars. I should have rated it that way in the first place. Like I said, I liked the story a lot, just a few things that bugged me.

Well, if you have the time, feel free to take a look at the arcs listed in my sig (er, ignore "The Meatgrinder", it's just an excercise in sadism that isn't even working properly. Kind of fun in a masochistic sort of way, though ).

"Small Fears" is a horror-themed arc; "How to Survive a Robot Uprising" is, well, pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. Although there are a few twists here and there, and the occasional joke. Poor Bernie

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I reviewed Small Fears.

Mission 1: Best custom group I have come across yet. those monster are really going to give me nightmares tonight. The mission goals were a bit confusing, but other than that this was a perfect mission.

Mission 2: Great mission. fighting MM is always fun and I can fight your custom group over and over again. They are great.

Mission 3: More scary monster and new ones that are even scarier. Tough EB battle, followed by surprise attack and another EB. Creepy goodness.

5 stars. In my honest opinion, if this isn't a dev's choice arc, then there shouldn't be dev's choice arcs.

Just pushed this up last night...if you don't know what Azumanga Daioh is, tho, you probably won't get the in-jokes. But it should still be an enjoyable mish on it's own.

Arc Name: Enter the Father Hat Gang
    Arc ID: 21391
    Faction: Neutral
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @backfire
Difficulty Level: Medium (harder for low levels)
Synopsis: Fans of Azumanga Daioh rejoice!! Tomo's dream of robbing a bank dressed in 'Father Hats' has become the latest parody to hit AE!!

Can you defeat Prodigy, Day-Dreamer, Spitfire, Yummie, and the Feline-ious Fury before the bank closes to the dismay of their Worried Sensei?!?

<ul type="square">[*]Japanese school girls with guns![*]In-Jokes galore!![*]And more cuteness than should be allowed by law!!![/list]

You win. 5 stars. Amazingly cool mission and I don't even get the in-jokes.

    Everyone should play this.

If you don't mind playing a really long one &lt;'x'&gt; I'd love some feedback on the last one in my sig "A Warrior's Friend".

It's been played once and rated 4 stars, but never actually heard any feedback, so I've got no clue what I should be altering to improve it &lt;'x'&gt;m

Obviously only if you have the time and interest!

I'm particularly interested in what people think of the updated version of Battle Maiden's (the Praetorian of Valkyrie) updated group that I put together.

    &lt;~_~&gt;m

    [/ QUOTE ]

5 stars, this is a great arc. Its long, but if you have the time, try it out.

I loved your custom group. The story was good, but was almost too much to read at times. The 3rd and 4th missions were a bit annoying with the outdoor maps. Specifically the 3rd map - all the captive made it confusing to easily seek out the ones that you actually had to save, but I loved the look of it all. Very well done!!

I've got a very short arc, "THE BOMBER" 16607, that's basically just a single boss fight with a schtick; I would love to get some feedback on it.

And if you don't mind an arc that has a fair number of ratings, , may I suggest "Adventures of the Space Marines", 2133? Always looking for feedback!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well it was very short. And it was just a single (Elite) Boss with not any other enemies in the mission, which is fine. Who doesn't like a TV mission too. I liked the Bosses' schtick and gave it 4stars. No 5 only because it was just too simplistic.

I think if you added even a basic custom critter group to go with the bomber and kept the small jewelry store map, you would have a cool little quickie mission.
  15. Wow, this is filling up fast. I'll get to as many above this post as I can this weekend. some sound really fun. Wish I wasn't stuck at work right now!

    EB/AV filter?

See, I am getting conflicting info about the scaling process of AV's and EB's. I'll experiment with difficulty settings.

If I am on the next to hardest difficulty, then I will never see an AV? Is that right?

I think that you should not be able to rate an arc 1 or 2 stars without leaving a comment. It is way too easy to kill somebody's hard work with an anonymous 1 or 2 star rating, especially if it is one of the first couple of ratings the story gets.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok....so let's say I rate an arc one star and then for a comment I leave "this arc sucks". Is that a good enough comment? Is that sufficient??? That's why I don't see any value of "forcing" someone to leave a comment if they want to rate an arc 1 or 2 stars.

Here's my two cents...if you are are going to put yourself out there and develop missions for everyone to play then you better be prepared to deal with the criticism. Some of that criticism will come in the form of constructive comments and sometimes it will come in the form of a rating of 1 or 2 stars. I get the feeling there is a "a one or two star rating isn't fair" mentality developing in this thread. But when you put your work out there for public consumption there is not such thing as fair. We live in a "star" based system from everything from movies, albums, products, etc...

I understand that people have worked hard on developing their missions, but you have to understand that some folks are going to be brutal when it comes to providing a review of your missions. I look at it like this, if you create a kick butt mission then folks will want to play it, they will tell others to play it, and you will receive the glory you are craving. Some folks don't even care about ratings, if the mission sounds interesting then they will play it. Bottom line I think if you are going to create missions you better have a thick skin.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agre with much of what you are saying. I am just offering up a suggestion based on a lot of players feelings.

I don't think you would actually see much of the "this arc sucks" comments, particularly if the commentator has arcs of his own.

I agree 100% with you though, if you are going to put your stuff out there, you better have a thick enough skin to take what comes your way. But I also believe if you are going to rate something 1 or 2 stars, then you should 'man up' so to speak and tell a person why.
  18. Beach_Lifeguard

    EB/AV filter?

I think perhaps I will give a middle rating to these, with the comment that they should indicate in the description that there is an EB/AV and that if they fix that aspect I will go back in and re-rate it higher.
  19. I plan on trying out a ton of player created missions tonight and throughout the weekend. I figure while doing this I can also help out those story arcs which are going unnoticed.

So, if you think you have a really good arc but it hasn't been played at all, or only a few times, post it here. Tell me a a bit about it and I will try my hardest to get to it this evening and this weekend.

I will rotate between a lvl 41 plant/Rad controller, a lvl 50 Ill/Rad controller and a lvl 50 Fire/WP brute. I normally solo, so please don't post if you don't forsee your story being able to be completed by a soloist. I prefer very short up through medium arcs, but will try any length.

I will also give it a fair evaluation here in this thread for anyone to read. Keep in mind I particularly hate the small blue caves and any defeat all mission that is on a medium map or bigger. I'll still play them, but it could affect my score/review.
  20. I think that you should not be able to rate an arc 1 or 2 stars without leaving a comment. It is way too easy to kill somebody's hard work with an anonymous 1 or 2 star rating, especially if it is one of the first couple of ratings the story gets.

If you think the story is 1 or 2 stars, then fine, rate it that way, but the system should force you into at least leaving a comment, that way the author knows why the story is only a 1 or 2 star. I believe if you leave honest, helpful comments to a bad story, 99% of the player base will take it to heart and not do some petty retaliating.

I do like the 1-5 rating system, but I really hate the anonomous aspect of it when it comes to getting a 1 star rating. The author is left wondering why, and again, if it is one of the first few ratings a story gets, it may never be played again. If we help out the author's of some of the bad story's, we might all get better and better storys to play.
  21. Thanks again for the comment.

I made the arc all in good fun. It is just supposed to poke some fun at something we have probably all experienced: a bad Pick-up-Group. I don't hold any ill will towards people who design their characters like the ones in my arc. I feel that it is their toon, and they should make it and play it however they want.

Having said that, I did want to make it realistic, and I am glad you were able to take something out of it. It is comments like your, as well as a couple I received through tells that help me tweak the enemies I designed. For instance, the 'Token Controller' was a Lt. - which obviously contradicts her name, and somebody pointed that out, so I made her a minion and weakened her considerably. I also added a catgirl claws scrapper in.

I want the arc to be fun but also make people nod and think, "Oh, yeah, I've been there!" so any more constructive critsism would be helpful as I continue to try and improve it.
  22. Beach_Lifeguard

    EB/AV filter?

Is there any indication whether a mission or story arc has an AV in it or an EB?

I've only seen the description say contains boss.

I've run some arcs, only to come up against an AV (or even a tough EB) solo and cannot finish them. It makes me want to give a low star grade because there was no warning, but then I realized I don't think the system really shows you whether or not there is an AV/EB, so I either don't rate it, or just rate it on what I was able to finish.

If there is not an indicator for an AV/EB, there really should be one. This game has done so much to be solo friendly, I would hate to see them not include some friendlyness in the in the MA.
  23. Well, thanks for the comment. Glad you found it entertaining.

    What exactly is munchkinism though???

I have a few small updates I need to make to improve the story and based on some feedback I need to adjust the custom critters a tiny bit.

X-Porter still doesn't know about the arc, have not seen him online.
